Description
Graphic illustrator and film-maker Dave McKean (MirrorMask) explores the power of imagination in his evocative new film Luna. Grant (Ben Daniels) and Christine (Dervla Kirwan) are struggling to come to terms with losing their baby. Escaping from their arduous daily lives, they visit an old friend Dean (Michael Maloney) who is living in an isolated house by the sea with his younger girlfriend (Stephanie Leonidas). Over the course of a weekend, their loss is revisited, old wounds are opened and secrets are revealed in McKean’s hybrid world of realism, origami crabs and moon men.

The Place between Fantasy and Reality
I saw Luna when it premiered in London Piccadilly back in October last year and it just touched the right chords and rendered me speechless.
This is not a McKean you're used to or seen before, it's a new chapter in his endless list of artistic talents and the affirmation of his unique and stunning visual style. Introspective, symbolic and surreal, yet at the same time portraying the lives of a group of friends dealing with loss and separation. The intensity and development of the story couldn't have had a better cast. I loved every single actor and how comfortable each one looked in the portrayal of their characters and their onscreen relationships.
Watching this movie could possibly be the best thing you do this year.
