I think the reviews on here dont add up, try imdb! Film was awesome, both characters were very deep and emotional effects clean and spectacular (i bought the 4k Blue ray) back ground extras great to see! just rent here great entertainment watched several times to catch the sweet bits! Yes 10 stars! FYI it’s becoming noticeable that when streaming so called 4K there is no detail? Is it really 4K or has compression taken over? I have 40mbt internet I mostly down load so watching the download at 1080 seems at times better than streaming? So has apple stretched the truth r we getting what we think? Watching the disc on same tv is a giant leap so it’s not the tv but the source? Any case great movie!

Morally corrupt 'entertainment'.

Seemed better than initial reviews suggested. Somewhat predictable, and characters could have been pushed more, but effects and acting worked well.

Do not be fooled by the 4K symbol under the cover photo, this film is not is not in 2160p, it is 1080p which is the normal HD. Disgraceful blatant misleading by Apple.

Jennifer Lawrence is one of my favourite female actors.

A really enjoyable film with Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt. It’s a film that you need to watch properly to understand and realise what is happening. There are some people that believe that the positive reviews are fake and this film was panned by the critics. Yet on IMBd it has a score of 7.0 (score rating January 2nd 2020) and IMBd has got very critical over the last few years. If you are the kind of person that likes to be spoon fed what is obvious, then this may not be the film for you.

While Chris Pratt's character had interesting aspects I felt this film tried to explain too much of what was going on and left little for the watcher to figure. There was a little humour but i think the film kinda got a little confused about what sort of film it wanted to be.

The ending was reasonable and the effects well done, but it fizzled.

Cost me a possible date not loving this film….oh, well…..:-)

I usually fall asleep through movies but with this one I watched from start to finish. Superb graphics, the storyline was a bit predictable . I will be watching it again.

A very different space movie from any other , involving primarily three people and the strong emotional dilemma of a 'do you or don't you' scenario.

The space 'walks' are quite amazing especially if you have a giant Tv....!!

If you are able to imagine yourself being alone for two years on a sleeping spaceship , with just a robot bartender for company , this film will make sense.

No aliens or pitch black monsters but rather a story of a possible future.

OK, so the plot is one that has been screened a number of different ways on different backdrops. What separates this is the sheer attention to detail that this production has had. The story has more holes than a colander and some of the physics involved is questionable to say the least, but we are not watching a degree course in Astrophysics - it is Hollywood and as such it is a good romp. Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt do well to bring the story to life, but the award should go to Michael Sheen who is the 'glue' that holds the storyline together. Not as bad as some reviewers have made out, but not a 5 star film either.

I must first say that I have not seen the film as it was brought to my attenion that some of the 5-Star reviews may have been a secptical attempt to draw alot of reviewers to this movie by individuals, "who will benefit most from your rent or purchase". So in a nutshell this is not a "Review" but an endorsemnt of the review by RichTea23 on the 21 April 2017. And I have to agree with his assement, I have read several of these 5 Star reviews and quiet honestly I think it stinks of a corporate attempt to make money. I would only suggest you rent the movie or waite till its drop significantly in price. Or read some of the 5 star reviews and make your own mind up. A shame as I do likePratt/Lawrence

Yes, this is not a great movie - it is, I suppose, somewhat realistic about Jim's first year alone on board the ship but the movie just degenerates into a rather generic, run of the mill movie & is entirely predictable. I feel like it would be better if they had more characters to contribute to the storyline.

It's a nice non taxing film whose worst aspect is that advance trailers pitched it as a sci-fi film and it isn't, it's a simple but rather charming love story. Will it set the Oscars alight no, but then I rarely enjoy the films that do.

Mesmerising from start to finish! Great acting and I think this film has been unfairly underrated. Watch it, it is worth it. Time flew by..

Impressive graphics but a weak storyline and underwhelming and, frankly, dull performances by the actors. Predictable. Disappointing.

Just thought I'd reply to the most recent reviews stating how terrible this film is. The film is excellent. What a thought provoking, meaningful film. Genuinely loved it. I was put off a little by the last reviewers but not idea what they watched, can't have been this one. Top marks!

The movies it actually quite good. Story is decent and good to see a more human side to sci-fi movies. Themes are good, movie touches on how people act selfishly, redemption, self sacrifice, love etc.

The film relies totally on special effects. Storyline is very weak with poor acting overall sadly very disappointing film.

Really very average at a push!......not worth watching....thats two ours of my life I will never get back again...:-(

So, yeah, I was aware that this film had been bashed by critics for the most part and it was for that reason I didn't watch it at the cinema and waited till I could rent here. It's not amazing by any stretch of the imagination... but it's not awful either. Pratt and Lawrence are due a fair amount of credit for the latter. One aspect that is picked up by critics is a certain 'creepy' element of storyline and it does make for some uncomfortable watching... however, I suppose that does come into the 'what if' of story telling and it brings an emotional edge to another wise straight forward disaster scenario. If you're not one for high expectations and enjoy cinematography, then it's worth a rent irrespective of what some neighsayers say :)

The first 15 minutes were quite good it then went downhill rapidly when it just seemed to be something made up by three people in a bar after sampling the delights of something. It may be ok if your 9 but if your older, save your money. If a jacket doesn't fit you can take it back for an exchange. Perhaps that would be a good idea with films too. It's a waste of money.

Have to say, quite enjoyed this. Not quite 5 stars, but enjoyable to say the least.

I've seen all the negative reviews and was confused. I though that this movie was really good. Sure it wasn't the best film of all time, but the story was good and both Pratt and Lawrence are incredible actors. I saw it in the cinema, and was speechless, and then when i came home i immediately wanted to see it again, and i went to watch it in cinema once more and thought it was just as amazing.

Well this was a long time in getting here but what a waste, slow moving, predictable, and will sink to forgettable very quickly.

Read some bad reviews but I loved this film. Reminded me of Wall-E. The CGI is great as are the sets. I even shed a tear towards the end. Yes some parts are a bit ridiculous but that's like most films. Chris Pratt is a great actor. Watch it and get engrossed.

Not sure why the scores for this seem so marmite, for a sci-fi film it's not blade runner, but it's not a one star either. It's well acted, it's primarily a love story but don't let that put you off there are some good action sequences, and the styling is great. It's slower than I was expecting, but that's because it has been miss sold as an all out blockbuster action film, its more of a thinking film (I.e. What would I do in their shoes?). My rule of thumb is if your still thinking about it the next day, then it's not a bad film. I'd recommend rental rather than purchase and don't be swayed by the extreme hype or the negativity - watch it yourself.

Was not sure if this would be good as it had a few negative reviews but it was brilliant. Great love storey and sci-fi and great visuals.

Was weary of watching this film however it was an amazing piece of sci-fi. Very funny aswell as dramatic. If you liked Moon or similar films to that this is defo a grreat pick.

As an IT geek the planning of this trip couldn't have been worse and really annoying at times but I enjoyed the photography.

An OK film that sort of ruches the ending. Almost like they ran out of CGI budget! I expected to see multiple children / young adults — offspring of the heroic couple. But just a quick pan over a CGI interior and then the credits. Sort of underwhelming, really.

Regarding the other reviews... It does seem that Apple's review system is now being wholeheartedly played by movie distributors / producers. Would be good to see Apple making SOME attempt to clean up such corrupt and misleading practice. But I guess Apple iTunes has as much to gain from the fake reviews as the film makers. This seems to be the glorious IT future ahead of us — fakery, lies and misdirection in the name of profits,

What a shame Apple turns out to be as lacking in morals as the alt-right "alternative facts" brigade!

Ok guys, this isn't an 'Alien' movie. It isn't 'Life' or "the ship is evil and it wants to eat you", or the one with the mad, talking computer. And it isn't "Pitch Black" either.

This is a movie with intelligence!!

It had a decent script, a decent plot line, decent actors, and for once, the tension scenes don't predict the end - you genuinely don't know what will happen until it does.

So please, stop saying it's boring because there's no monsters, blast-pistol fights, or anything else the simple-minded appear to like.

If you want explosions, there's some of those. But wow... take a second... just watch the visual feast. The incredible design.

Or go watch your favourite alien-monster-invasion movie.

Your choice.

Best film i have seen this year, wonderfully filmed and you can see how are future will become, well mankind .

I can not wait to watch it again and i never really into watching films I've seen but this is one i would .

Judge for yourself, bet you love it .

Not awful but worth a rent if your bored.

I didnt see this in the cinema and waited for this release in anticipation - that is until I read the other reviews. Unlike 'Upside Down' this is unlikely to become a cult classic. I watched 'Upside Down' first. 'Passengers' is not sci-fi, drama, existential thriller or action, although it could have been with a little more effort. It is a romance where Robinson Cruesoe and his Girl Friday are marooned on a ship of an island travelling across an ocean of space. So missed potential. While 'Passengers' is Hollywood gloss almost at its best, 'Upside Down' is everything 'Passengers' could have been. 'Upside Down' is a folk love story set in an allegorical dystopian ake on our world that does not succumb to the simplistic world/personhood view of Hollywood/Disney. It is far more original in substance and style.

If you don't like this film you have serious issues.

If your bored and spending the night In, then watch!, defiantly don't make the same mistake as me and rent not buy.

I was reading the reviews here and could not help but feel that some of them are fake/paid for and/or part of a promotional campaign for the movie company.

The language used just feels too generic in many of the five star comments. When you read the negative reviews the comments are worded so much more authentically. I.e. they seem unplanned, use random language, the tone feels genuine.

When you read some the positive reviews it feels very 'cookie cutter', with people using the same phrases again and again.

I wouldn't normally raise a point like this but this was a film that was poorly rated by most critics and did badly at the cinena. There is a strong financial incentive for some people to try and boost the reviews here as it's their last chance to get a return on the film in terms of additional revenues.

I'm going to keep an eye out now for other failing films that get lots of glowing reviews and examine the language and phrases used. I bet there will be a pattern.

I think iTunes needs to police these comments therefore with much more effrot.

Was looking forward to this film but was board about half way through. The film is not very pretty to look at. It's just green screen the whole way through, like the Star Wars prequels. Chris Pratt was decent but I don't get the fuss about Jennifer Lawrence. She is a massively average actress, and if I'm brutally honest her voice annoys me. There are better female leads that could have improved this film, Emily blunt springs to mind, but not enough to make up for the two dimensional visuals still. I'd rather have spent my time re watching 2001 or interstellar or Arrival where the passage of time was a secondary plot to other more intriguing components. I really can't think of anything I liked about this film apart from maybe Pratts acting as I said before.

I rarely really rave about a movie but Passengers is a knock-out. Kept thinking about it for days after. Superb acting, Lawrence and Pratt are brilliant. The story and surprise twists are capturing from the start. I expected something good but did not expect the story to unfold as it did and not only the production but also those twists made this an outstanding movie. Well done and thanks for providing a truly entertaining movie again. Cannot wait to see it again.

I have been looking forward to this film all year, since the oscars this year, I finally saw the film today.

I absolutely loved it, it was a mixture of a love story, with comedy and some action/ adventure as well. The perfect amount to make this film as amazing as it was. There were only four main cast members in this film and yet the main three you see kept me interested throughout, not once did it get boring.

I found myself laughing at parts and on the edge of my seat at others and even wiping away a tear or two. I am so happy I went to see this film. Lawrence and Pratt are the best actors for this film. Cannot wait to see it again soon. The graphics in the film were amazing and so realistic, very believable.

I thoroughly enjoyed this film would recommend it to everyone with a love for action/adventure, comedy, romance and a love for Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt.
