Description

When body image activist Taryn Brumfitt posted an unconventional before-and-after photo in 2013, it was seen by more than 100 million people worldwide and sparked an international media frenzy. In her forceful debut, Brumfitt continues her crusade exploring the global issue of body loathing, inspiring us to change the way we think about ourselves and feel about our bodies. Throughout her journey, she travels the world to interview an impressive range of women including talk show host Ricki Lake; Mia Freedman: the youngest ever editor of Australian Cosmopolitan; Harnaam Kaur: the bearded dame; UK talk show host/photographer Amanda de Cadenet; German actress Nora Tschirner; Professor Marika Tiggemann; body image blogger Jes Baker (a.k.a. The Militant Baker); and motivational speaker Turia Pitt.

I will be forever grateful to this film, for opening my eyes and encouraging me to love myself. To love myself just the way I am, and that I am good enough, regardless of what the media wants me to believe.

I first saw Embrace in July 2017 at a screening held in Tunbridge Wells and it changed my life. It made me realise that I don’t miss the way my body used to look, I miss what it was able to do. Thanks to this film I had the courage to sign up for the London 2 Brighton Challenge and I’m now training to complete it in May. I hosted a screening of Embrace last month and am so glad it’s finally on iTunes so I can watch it as much as I like!

So many favourite moments. The one I tell my friends and their children 'Darling girl / boy, don't waste a single day of your life being at war with your body, just embrace it.'
Buy the movie, best investment and girls not night in movie 💗🇬🇧💗🇬🇧💗

This film will change your life if you allow it to! I first saw it just over a year ago and have since been to many screenings. Taryns journey from body loather to body lover is is thought provoking, inspirational and a joy to witness. The interviewees are all incredible and each offers a unique perspective on what it means to be body positive.
If you have ever looked in the mirror and felt less than good enough, ever been to a slimming club and felt worthless or felt that your body shape or weight defined who you are then do yourself one massive favour and buy this film! Living an Embraced life is a wonderful joyous thing and I can’t thank Taryn enough for putting herself out there in such a raw and open way. X

An astonishing, moving, and well paced film that everyone should see. It moves you on so many levels and the time flies as you watch Taryn fly across the globe speaking to women of different cultures who all share one thing - a hatred of their bodies. This film has been life changing for me and I recommend it to all my friends! I saw it twice at the cinema and plan to see it many times again!

I first watched Embrace in Manchester at a special screening that Taryn herself attended - a room full of people wanting to embrace! It was fantastic. This film is fantastic, I’m thrilled that I can now watch it at home! 💘💘💘
