Description

Hands down one of my favourite films of all time, Terminator 2 is about as flawless and as perfect of an action film as you can get. Not only is the action in it so good, the acting is also fantastic, the stunts are incredible, the direction is pitch perfect, the threats feel real, it’s call backs from it’s predecessor are all earned, the effects (both CG and practical) are still brilliant and everyone in this film is charming and likeable. Best action film, best sci-fi film or even best movie sequel of all time, whatever you wanna call it, there’s no denying that this film is a masterpiece and may the respect it got back then and even to this day never die.

Great movie but for years you can get Blu Rays with the extended versions on. And I say versions as there are two. Available in the US iTunes but it seems in the UK they can’t. Disappointed to say the least.

Brilliant movie an iconic movie and a brilliant movie
If you love action then you will love this. Every fight scene puts you on the edge of your seat
If you love drama Sarah and John Connor relation ship during the movie makes you cry it is such a emotional detail
If you love sci fi then you will definitely love this the robots, the machines and the post apocalyptic world is so cool
Everything moment in this movie is absolutely outstanding
The acting is great, the story fantastic and the special effects better than now a days

Since release this excellent film has made $520 million, however that is simply not enough cash so why not release a film, remove it quickly and then re release it again so people feel they need to re buy it!
Will be cautios buying from this distributor in the future.

However, this edit is awful! iTunes, sort it out please and give us the proper, FULL version of this incredible movie!
The 1 star loss comes down to the edit iTunes decided to sell. There are parts that are out of sequence in this edit and I have seen this movie more than enough times to know the proper edit.
4K is the only way to watch this film now

First off, I love this film - it is one of my all time favourites.
However, I was extremely disappointed that it does not include the extended cut. Many other films I have bought on iTunes offer a choice of version when played, and nothing in the description of this film says it only includes the theatrical cut.
Not only is the description not obvious, the fact that this is the only edition available in the UK iTunes Store means it is impossible to watch the extended cut.
Five stars for the film, but one star for the deceptive marketing, and limiting consumer choice.

Once again, another title re-released for no reason apart from catching people out and getting them to buy it again - check your library first.
If you have previously bought this, you do get the 4k version despite what people are saying here so from that point Apple are delivering to their promise.
Film is 5 stars, the way Apple allow the same title to be sold again is 1 star

It’s a crying shame such an excellent film is marred by the lack of English subtitles - even more shocking given it’s age, as well as all the DVD/Blu-Ray releases have them. I depend on subtitles for my movies and cannot enjoy this film via iTunes.

This is a fantastic film and I was really excited about getting it until I read the other reviews stating that this was just the theatrical cut, not the extended version.
Please release the extended version, and not just as an iTunes Extras feature that can be taken away at any time...

Honestly this is the best looking film I’ve seen on the Apple TV 4K, with the exception maybe of Bladerunner 2049. Not bad for a movie that’s nearly 30 years old!

What would you think if Cameron had shot T2 last year, how would it look?
This is how it'd look, baring the fact that this was made nearly 30 years ago, you'd struggle to really see it's age. Of course it doesn't entirely hold up to scrutiny, that'd be impossible... the technology to make it today would make it easy to hide the tell tale marks, they didn't exist at the time this was originally shot.
Had Cameron not used grainy film stock, I think this carefully restored version would look like a bang up to date modern film.
All that said, it looks magnificent without the aurbrushed waxy skin you see in other de-grained films.

T2 is my favourite film. I wasn’t sure if to make this purchase noting some
reviews being very negative over the picture quality etc. So glad I ignored them though, personally I thought it was awesome, a real noticeable upgrade to the picture quality, yes it would have been nice to have the extended cut versions, it’s a shame you don’t even get them in HD as an extra (like you do with the disc version), but for this price you can’t complain, definitely recommend.

All these people moaning it doesn't have the extended version, when all that does is drag out the movie without actually adding much. I for one am glad of the Theatrical version, and glad James Cameron stuck with it with this remaster. 4K for £9.99? Bargain. And to those moaning they previously bought this in HD so should get the 4K upgrade free, this is a new version of the movie so it doesn't count.

First - to get the eelphant in the room out of the way - this is the original theatrical edition and I am glad for it! Having not seen this version since owning the special edition on DVD for years it was great to see the original cut with all the extra flab removed (Don't get me wrong - I like the Special Edition as well). Arguably James Cameron's best movie and definitley Arnie's best, with great action and special effects with CGI (done frame-by-frame in the original Photoshop!!!) that holds up today - I'm looking at you Justice League.... Even though I only have this in 1080p the re-master is gorgeous with crisp imagery and beautiful colour - so much better than previous releases. Hasta la vista, baby!

Not having 4k I watched this on my HD computer screen as usual, comparing it to my earlier Apple version..
I was blown away (or should that be Terminated) by the remastering job they have done- particularly clarity - but including audio. It made a great movie sensational. Really.
The clarity is interesting... I could notice the sharpness and definition of things. Right at the start, the craft look like models at time. Completely forgotten as the film rolled on by.
Recommended!

I have to be honest about this yeah it’s a classic etc I know and I remember seeing it at the cinema in the early 90’s all that time ago. But I take it this is for the standard film no t1000 edition no extended edition of the film. If it’s not then £9.99 is well over priced some might say it’s in 4K etc. So I would have to shell out for a new tv a new Apple TV 4K box as well. You see where this is going 30+ year old films at a Tenna. I don’t think so........

Great movie, brilliant that it's 4K for a decent price. I agree with the other reviewer that customers should realise as I did that this is the theatrical version of the movie not the extended cut. Come on itunes any chance of adding the extended cut in the itunes extras? You have done this for other movies, for example "straight outta Compton". Customers love this iconic and groundbreaking movie so come on itunes let's have the extended cut please

I have already bought this movie in HD version and according to Apple it should be upgraded to 4K free of charge - I’ve bought the Apple TV 4K in part because of this claim. Why do I have to pay another £9.99p for this 4K version of the same movie?

Unlike some reviewers I have waited until the release to review this, and I have actually watched it - the remastering, 4K and hdr are very, very impressive. It looks sharp, clean and spookily up to date. The iTunes extras are reasonable , there is no special edition but as a purist I prefer the cinematic release.
The actual movie , of course, is as awesome as ever.

Film grain has been removed which changes how it looks dramatically but sharpness and detail has been improved.
HDR is very minimal although I do like the improved colour and black levels are much better.
The removal of film grain will be a make or break for some and it’s definitely noticeable but I enjoyed the movie as much this time as all the other many times I have seen it.

I would have given 5 stars if not for the lack of previously released extra's, and the exclusion of the the two othe cuts.
The new documenatery is nice as is the retro doc from 2003. But I wish they would have included all the extras from the 2003 dvd 2 disc release .
Now onto the picture quality for the 4k HDR . The pic does have the grain removed with DNR usage but unlike previous releases that were heavy on DNR this avoids all the faults of previous movies like the Predator where everything looked like someone had slapped grease on the image. The skin textures are still intact as they should be, the sharpness is still there. the color grading is perfect. The HDR is subtle which is perfect as the colors are not overblown.

Ok I’m really getting annoyed with people that give a movie 1 star just cos they haven’t read the details and are dumb enough to not check the running time. It is obvious this movie isn’t the special edition. Yes we know the special edition is better but come on READ people. It was the same with some of the Alien/Aliens reviews you have directors cuts and standard editions. You can’t give a movie of this quality 1 star for your incompetence. I really wish iTunes would have a reply link to individuals directly so we can all have a go at the idiots that leave these stupid reviews. Oh and while I’m at it. People moaning cos it wasn’t saying 4K a few months back. We know 4K has only been on iTunes for a couple of months so just wait and be patient. We know it won’t cost us anything for it to be upgraded from HD to 4K so stop being so dumb and wake up and smell the coffee
