Great action sequences, amazing CGI, a sad but heartfelt storyline and a fun-filled adventure for the whole family.

Today saw the film and loved it, a lot of detail to story will need you to listen carefully so can get lost. Visually great and 2hrs shoots buy looking forward to iTunes release be nice to have a date? Need to watch several times!

Loved the film but felt there were to many plots going on for people to follow. I hope this is fixed in the upcoming sequaels

Overlong and flimsy script. I lost interest after about half an hour. The movie/storyline is a bit incoherent. Please let this tiresome storyline die.

Can’t explain too good

I got so bored of it I even almost fell asleep while watching this. It was could have been more interesting than this.

Trash, it’s a waste of money

Awful compared to the other movies in the franchise. Plot very poorly put together, plot holes everywhere, and to add insult to injury if bought on the store it’s still £13+. Might as well just buy from your local shop

It’s unfortunate that this film isn’t really that great. I did like it but I just expected more, I guess this is the in between film so wouldn’t be as good but I was disappointed I hope the next one is better.

It was a good film but Harry Potter fans were disappointed that it totally made no sense with most of the things that the Harry Potter books and movies had said

The special effects were spectacular as usual but the plot was dire. It was a struggle to get through the movie.

That's about the greatest compliment I can give this. Overly long, poor story beats, and pretty much is the middle of a story.

It will be interesting to see how they manage part 3 without breaking HP canon and ruining the whole thing.

Literally just trying to set up a franchise where there really isn’t one, nothing happens, boring, nonsensical and ruins potter lore.

Awful

I think I’m the only one who likes this more than the first. It is a lot darker and there is more going on in terms of story and action. however this series has so far let me down, mainly because newt is the most annoying and uninteresting character in the entire Harry Potter franchise.

I suppose it's my fault, I once tried to watch a Harry Potter film and it was impossible: an example of the lowest common denominator in children's entertainment, formulaic in plot and rich in banality masquerading as complexity. Then I was on a long plane journey and started lazily watching this film's precursor: Fantastic Beasts... and I was pleasantly surprised: it had a plot and some decent character development, nothing to write to Cannes about, but it was a pleasant film with wide appeal, good dialogue, allowing actors to do their craft some justice. This is exactly what this follow-up isn't, the plot is woefully thin and the dialogue is so subordinate to the constant CGI tricks, and so poorly written, as to make very good actors look useless. You will enjoy it if you are an adult who reads Harry Potter books, because there is nothing in this film to strain or ever challenge your lazy mind, and because it doesn't require any length of attention span longer than two seconds. Can I get my money back please? 😊

...enough to write a review saying avoid. Great visuals, ok acting, but they’re stringing out a plot that could be done in half the time.

Loved this movie more than the first, absolutely brilliant.

Dissapointing to fiannly watch Crimes of Grindelwald, just felt as if the whole film was just trying to make sense of the story so next film had all stop gaps filled. didnt keep me watching and wish i has just rented as wouldnt watch again which is something i have always done with previous harry potter films and also with Fantastic Beasts , i havent felt as if missed anything or would want to re watch for entertainment.

Honestly so frustrated that a 2nd film turned out to be so poor and first set charctaors lost . next film just going to rent if i even bother. Sad as thought these films could be as fun.

I love it. just like Harry Porter

This is a great follow up to Fantastic Beasts & Where to find them. It adds so much lore to the wizarding world. Eddie Redmayne was born to play Newt. Johnny Depp is brilliant as Grindelwald and dare I say it a better villain then Voldemort.

Possibly the worst movie I have seen. Whatever was JKR thinking?! Completely impossible to follow the plot. Major actors reduced to 2nd rate roles. Doesn’t even reach a conclusion. Well I for one will not be watching the sequel.

Complete waste of money. Turned it off after 30mins. No real story, just lots of effects

So disappointed in this one! The first film was so so good! Was so excited to see this but literally NOTHING really happens.. found myself switched off by the end. 👎

This is so poorly wrriten, there is limited plot and unecessary relation back to previous harry potter characters which make for annoying inconsistency. It contains entertaining moments with magic creatures but these are few and far betwen the awful writing. I can't believe that JK Rowling has gone from HP to producing this. The story would be better if it was totally different.

Please do not waste your money on renting this.

Just as good as the first and original Hp series. I love at the start of the first FB film they say “Like to invite you back to the wizard if world” and I’m sat here like, “We never left!”. And when you see Hogwarts again for the first time I said to my sister:”I’m home!”

Loved every second!

I eagerly awaited this film to be released on iTunes, as I hadn’t witnessed it at my local bijou Kinema - what a disappointment.

The story doesn’t seem to go anywhere, I was waiting for it to start and it didn’t, it’s flat, long and boring.

It was just a rehash of the last film, this second serving is cold, stale and somewhat bewildering.

Nothing new to see here.

Excellent performance from Eddie Redmayne - one star - but even that fails to save it.

The computer wizardry is fantastic- one star - but that also fails to save it.

Johnny Depp is dreadful, he should stick to playing pirates, his acting in this is as wooden as Long John Silver’s false leg.

Not worth 14 quid.

The entire film. Literally not a single thing happens. And the nonsense filler that takes up the entire film doesn’t even make sense. There’s a teacher teaching at hogwarts before she’s even born? What?!

Was a chore to complete this film.

Simply a moving, magical and spectacular movie. Nothing more, nothing less.

The story is terrible and some of the scenes are truly upsetting. I’m not looking for more Harry Potter, but still something magical. This movie left me feeling depressed.

The best thing about these movies, is that they just get better and better. This is the best one yet. Brilliant action scenes, great beasts and everything you could want in a film. Bring on FB3!

As with all HP Universe films there is an expectation of highest quality story writing, special effects and production. This films falls woefully short on all accounts. A rambling and lazy screenplay, peppered with good but irrelevant special effects. Barely made it through the entire film.

Just outstanding

I just never got into the film. Felt bored throughout and had to resist reaching for my phone to browse the news.

This is true escapism brilliant CIGs great performances (apart from IMO Johnny Depp) I thought this was much better than the first, here, in this second instalment, the story and characters are being fully developed, loved the film and am looking forward to the next instalment.

I ended up seeing this movie twice last year, I loved it the first time and since my cousin is a massive Harry Potter fan I took him to see it, he loved it. I prefer the fanatic beasts series over Harry Potter. I cannot wait till it comes out so I can re watch it again

One of the most frustrating and badly written movies of the year.

I really enjoyed the movie, the quality of production has exceeded any expectations, it's one of the best with no doubt! though the story was a bit confusing, but what's coming will clear any confusion of the plot for sure.

On one side the really engaging backstory of Dumbledore and Grindelwald. The other a convoluted plot line on the origins of Credence. Loved the former hated the latter. Hopefully JK will move onto more stellar storytelling in the next film, that we’re used to rather than just filling us in on a load of irrelevant back story.

I loved this movie more than the first one. The movie moves more into the dark story about credence and why is he so important to both sides. There’s even a twist which I didn’t expect. Definitely recommend this to anyone and cannot wait to buy it when it come out.

Absolute amazing this is better than the first and dare I say most of the Harry Potter franchise one of the best films of the 21st century
