Description

Emma Stone (La La Land) stars in Disney’s Cruella, a live-action feature film about the rebellious early days of one of cinema’s most notorious – and notoriously fashionable – villains, the legendary Cruella de Vil. Set during the 1970s punk rock revolution in London, the story follows a clever and creative young grifter named Estella, who is determined to become a successful designer. After Estella befriends a pair of young thieves who appreciate her appetite for mischief, the three build a life for themselves on the London streets. Before long, Estella’s flair for fashion catches the eye of the Baroness von Hellman, a devastatingly chic and terrifyingly haute fashion legend, played by Emma Thompson (Howards End, Sense And Sensibility). But their relationship sets in motion a course of events and revelations that will cause Estella to embrace her wicked side and become the raucous, fashionable and revenge-bent Cruella. Cruella is directed by Craig Gillespie (I, Tonya) from a screenplay by Dana Fox and Tony McNamara, story by Aline Brosh McKenna and Kelly Marcel & Steve Zissis. It was produced by Andrew Gunn (Freaky Friday), Marc Platt (Mary Poppins Returns) and Kristin Burr (Christopher Robin), with Emma Stone, Michelle Wright, Jared LeBoff and Glenn Close serving as executive producers. Spectacular costume designer Jenny Beavan (Mad Max: Fury Road, A Room With A View) creates the dazzling and imaginative costumes, which take on a life of their own. Warning: Some flashing-lights scenes in this film may affect photosensitive viewers.

I wasn’t expecting much, maybe just a rehash of the old original films.
How wrong was I. It felt fresh and a new take and from a different angle.
Thoroughly enjoyed it, some superb acting, great and fun storyline.

£20. For a movie that would only cost £5 to see at the local Vue. RIP off. No thanks

It’s not the paying 20 pounds it’s knowing that it’s 7 pounds more then most other pre released films so truly sorry it’s brilliant film but it’s steep

As usual everyone commenting on the price. This is set by Disney not Itunes. To purchase this on any streaming service will cost you the same. Once it becomes free on Disney+ then price will drop

Cruella has to be one of the best movies released in 2021. Both Emma’s are incredible in the leading roles and the entire production is just a feast for the eyes with the cinematography, sets, fashion, and makeup. The only downside is the excessive Disney price tag. Do I regret paying it though? No, because I’ve rewatched this several times now.

Good movie!
I get people will begrudge paying £20 for the movie- but that’s because you can own it before it’s general release in August! Your call!

Really great good fun film. Exactly the family film we hoped for. Emma is great as always. Well worth a watch. Will buy when prices come down a bit. Premium price atm as still in the cinema. Can’t blame Disney for trying to recoup as much as possible.
