Why are you relisting it as 4K Dolby Vision when my one that I purchased is still in HD? Does this mean I have to purchase it again? Please explain this to me..🤷‍♂️

Definitely one of the best, if not the best film I have ever seen, amazing.

One of the great all time classic films ever. Truly a remarkable serendipitous films to be made. How can you deny that sometimes things come together in the right way and absolute magic happens, from the story, to the script, actors, and the magic of Frank Darabont (Director) and Thomas Newman (Composer) that sets the most focussed and incredibly beautiful framing of a very spiritual story of hope, survival, friendship, success, justice and freedom against all odds. Wow. This film changed my life!

This is rightly considered one of the greatest films of the last thirty years, if not all time.

I have always thought the most extraordinary thing about this film was not its sublime quality, but the fact that it won ZERO oscars.

Being a film buff, I cannot honestly think of any other film of this all round excellence, and emotional intelligence, that did not win a single Oscar.

I appreciate that1994 was a strong year, with Forrest Gump, Pulp Fiction and Four Weddings and A Funeral all nominated and whilst I have no complaint at all about the excellence and am a great fan of Forrest Gump, the winner, I have always felt that this film should have won Best Picture. Especially as its success at the time was gained mainly through word of mouth and its reputation for impacting on filmgoers emotionally.

Its legend as a great film just grew and grew as more and more people experienced a film that should and hopefully will ALWAYS be considered great.

I just wish it had won the gongs and awards it deserved.

However maybe the best reward is it will normally always be in most people's top ten films, once they have experienced it.

The godfather, the dark knight, goodfellas, lord of the rings? All great, but nothing compares to this. Don’t listen to what others might say. There is a reason why this movie is so famous.

A film of sensational quality, based on what true friendship is all about, a bond usually only found in the military. Whomever gives this 1 star clearly only has one brain cell and are clearly entertained by gumph being rolled out of Hollywood present day!! This film will touch you emotionally like no other film, simply incredible .....

Without a doubt the best film of all time. Even though I haven't of course seen every film to back that statement up, Shawshank is so good that I can't imagine anything better. It's got it all, it truly has.

This is probably my favourite film of all time. It displays great acting but also evokes emotions. Such a same about the price but if you have not already seen the film then it is a must.

The Shawshank redemption is a film you don't want to miss, the acting is strong, the story is touching, and for once, it's a film with a happy ending.

If you don't love shawshank, chances are you're beyond redemption.

I've seen the godfather, godfather part 2, pulp fiction, the dark knight...etc none of them compare to the shawshank redemption- it is amazing.

Not very often I write a review and give it 5 stars as this is close to perfection. The whole cast are immense. My only rant is the high price yet again set by iTunes, it's cheaper elsewhere.

Honestly- this is the best film you will ever watch. I cannot praise it enough- it's a thrill of emotions, happy, anxious sad everything! It is quite long but it is so powerful and moving. A great story about the hope we all have in life. Morgan freeman is amazing. So is everyone in the film. If you haven't watched it. You need to, no film will make you cry like this. It's breathtaking. It's one of those cinema movies that is absolutely amazing! Watch! You'll love it!

The Shawshank Redemption is the single greatest film of all time. I have seen many films in my life time and although some have came close. The Green Mile, Forest Gump. No one film has ever capitivated as much emotion as this film has for me personal. The underlining, subliminal messages about hope, belief and never giving up are not merely key aspects when regarding the films theme. But factors which can help you get through life and through difficult situations. I honestly ask anyone who watches this film to rate it less then 5 stars. A truly inspirational film.

As much as it's enjoyable and the story flows well (due to constant narration) I still believe and will stick by it being the mist overrated film EVER and it's a time killer at most.

The first film I purchased for my iPod, no problem about choice. The best film ever made ! Brilliant story line. Just buy it if you have not got it.

No words can describe how you feel after watching the movie. It's not overwhelming tears of happiness and it's definitely not tears of sorrow. It just simply makes you smile and think that good things happen to good people. A must see.

I wish that people would rate the film instead of the price, if they did this would have five stars which is LESS than it deserves, my favourite of all time...sheer beauty in photography and acting, doesn't matter how many times I watch this film the ending is still enough to bring a joyful tear to your eye. Buy it, it's worth it!

I was first introduced to this film about 17 years ago and sat down to what has become, in my view, the greatest movie of all time.

The story is dark, yet incredibly uplifting, sad but with streaks of joy. It carries every emotion you can think of in it's gripping storyline. I would dare anyone to watch this film and not be moved in some way by the glorious cinematography or the epic soundtrack accompanying the film. It brings a lump to my throat every time. There are not too many films capable of that sadly.

If there is one thing you should promise yourself in life, it should be to buy this film - you won't regret it...

Probably the best movie of its kind. Fantastic, moving, it really makes you think about the world, friendship and life. Everyone must see this film. The actors are brilliant, they portray Stephen King's book in such a way that it's worthy to go down in history. People may say Apple are over pricing things lately on iTunes, but personally there isn't a better film that is as worth spending the money on then this wonderful movie, this is a must see!!

quite simply one of the best films of the 90's and has not been beaten since. Very strong performances from Tim robbins and Morgan Freeman, And a true heart wrenching performance from James Whitmore. The director Frank Darabont films with a clostrophobic atmosphere within the prison, Then later you feel the open air and freedom of the outside world as a direct contrast to the prison. Based upon the short story Rita Hayworth and the shawshank redemption by Steven King it will have you absorbed from start to finish and have you cheering with joy at the films climax.

This film is probably the best film i have ever seen! it has everything emotions, comedy, and most important thing freedom! I keep on read this reviews who say it's too expensive! look if u want quality u need money. And if it was for Forrest Gump winning everything at the academy awards, it would have been the most successful and best storyline ever!!!

I have seen this for under 3 pound many a time, and that is on hard copy.

Watched this a dozen times and it just gets better every time. Do your friends a favour and gift them this movie. The best acting, the best script, the best music, just the best.
