Description

Inspired by Victor Hugo's classic novel, Disney brings the heroic adventures of Quasimodo, the gentle and lonely bell ringer of Notre Dame, to spectacular life. This critically acclaimed Disney masterpiece is an "uplifting, thrilling story with a heart-touching message that emerges from the comedy and song" (Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times). At the urging of his hilarious gargoyle pals Victor, Hugo, and Laverne, Quaismodo leaves the solitary safety of his tower, venturing out to find his first true friend, the gypsy beauty Esmerelda. The most unlikely of heroes, Quasi fights to save the people and the city he loves and, in turn, helps us to see people for who they are, rather than how they appear. The star-studded voice cast includes Jason Alexander, Tom Hulce, Kevin Kline, and Demi Moore in a magnificent Disney musical from renowned composer Alan Menken.

This movie will always be one of Disney’s greatest. Voice acting, singing, and soundtrack were all amazing. The. background art were breathtaking and great animation. Very fluid. The story is one Incan relate to really well. An overall great movie for all ages. I 100% recommended it. :)
P.S. DON’t BUY IT ON ITUNES. IT IS FAR CHEAPER ON DVD AND BLURAY. Plus, it’s on Disneylife and Nowtv.

I absolutely love this film. It's my favourite Disney film. Well, tied first place with Princess and the Frog. But £14? Seriously? This movie is so old and isn't even that popular, (it should be, really) but it's ridiculously expensive. I'm guessing that in America it's $11. I wish it was here. It should be cheaper, even though it's an exquisite movie. An underrated masterpiece.

iTunes sort out the prices, they are extortionate?! Good film, fond childhood memories, now as an adult, a sting to the pocket?!

Is this actually HD?

I paid £13.99 for the HD version, but on "get info" the video resolution says 853x478? Also all my other HD movie purchases state 'HD' in a small white box next to the title...

Just Pure Brilliance!

I dont see the point in films that aren't HD these days.
The ones i have bought in HD are beautiful, especially Lion King, it looks so bold and sharp!!
This, hercules and emperors new groove are my three favourite disney films and none of them are available in HD!?
I'd rather just watch it on my old VHS than pay £9.99 for shoddy quality films.
Please make them available in HD! You'd be getting another £4 off us at least? -_-

I don't think the price was set by iTunes but rather by Disney. iTunes just added a pound more or so....

Mysterious, engaging and genuinly inspiring, The Hunchback Of Notre Dame is without doubt one of the most impressive Disney films to have emerged from the studio's revival in the 1990s.
Not only having a darker, more realistic plot than the majority of Disney's output, it also boasts some of the best underlying messages of all time. For example ~
"What makes a monster and what makes a man?"
It is a moral that sets Hunchback apart from the usual animated clichés that have plagued the genre ever since Disney's focus switched to its computer animation counterpart Pixar.
Another impressive feature of Hunchback is its emotionally complex characters (except the slightly dull and functional Phoebus) especially its Disney villain ~ Tony Jay's deliciously cruel Frollo, made all the more intimidating due to the realistic nature of his cruelty. Perfectly matching Jay's Frollo is a Quasimodo whose inner conflict with his loyalties to both his master and Esmeralda make for compelling viewing.
But its strongest point of all is the deeply moving ending. It is not the absolute, 'fairy-tale' ending that Disney usually opt for, and as such its authenticity is striking and heartwarming. It is this climax that delivers so much more than the sickly-sweet repetition of the typical 'Happily Ever After'.
Indeed, from the opening theme music of the film to Clopin's final phrase, Walt Disney's: The Hunchback Of Notre Dame is a grossely underrated masterpiece, exploring the kind and the cruel of human nature side by side in a realistic, deeply engaging manner. Simply incredible.

This is one of my all-time favourite films because it has a good storyline and such, but I must say that it is quite old - so how come it's eleven pounds? I've noticed this also on Bug's Life. Come on itunes! These films were released ages ago when I was little - shouldn't the prices reflect that? Anyhoo, it's a very good film, but I'm not willing to part with that much money for an old film.
