I found this film version enjoyable and entertaining. Personally when I watch a play by Shakespeare I prefer the speech to be as close to the text as possible. I loved the character of Jacques and would have prefered a little more input from this character. However, overall thoroughly enjoyed it.

Don't do it - and three exclamation marks!!!

This movie takes no account of real people, but invents for itself an audience. An audience that has spent the past six months reading and thinking about the play that Shakespeare wrote. And this audience is convivial and easy and yearns to hear Shakespeare's words echoed..... - in 19th century Japan!
It is a shame itunes has such a poor purchasing policy that it allows this drivel to be perpetuated - there is no quality control here whatsoever. If you were ever in any doubt about it, this is your proof!
I remember another Shakespeare comedy with Emma Thompson that Branagh made (with the help of others), Much Ado About Nothing - it was wonderful, but no danger of finding it on itunes though!
