My favourite super hero movie of all time!

This is an incredible production, a film that I can watch again and again. It is a familiar story reimagined in fantastic detail and style. The soundtrack is beautiful as well as being uplifting and inspiring.

I like what Zach Snyder did with Man of Steel. The visuals are more stunning than any Marvel movie and the music score by Hans Zimmer is a masterpiece and better than the music from all the MCU movies.

However, I’m not into this grittier version of Superman and while his character’s tone is significantly lighter in the new Justice League movie, it would have been better for him to have been introduced with this tone. Also, I would’ve enjoyed a little bit of the original Superman theme in the film.

On the other hand, I don’t understand why people hated the part when Superman snapped Zod’s neck. I mean there was literally no other option. Zod’s character is a much more interesting villain as he is (spoiler alert) turning Earth into Krypton to save his people instead of making the world kneel before him.

Overall, I loved this film and I recommend it to anyone who loves a good Superhero/Sci-fi movie.

The first time I watched it, it was meh. Then rewatching the original Superman movies and then rewatching this, I really like Man of Steel. Great acting. Awesome VFX and yeh. Just a shame the two films that succeeded this film were lame, but at least Wonder Wonan was great. I have a strange feeling that all the origin movies of the DCEU will be great and all the team up and sequel films will be not so good. I could be wrong. But let’s wait and see.

I loved every detail about this movie. The visual aspects, costumes, emotions and it had a plot compared to this year’s lame wonder woman movie which is so over-rated, it’s hard to believe. Wonder woman was lame in comparison, this had better fight scenes, better climax, better build up, deeper childhood behind super-man/ clarke kent with engaging step-parents all of which makes it a better movie for me than Wonder woman. Wonder woman literally had no plot and fight scenes just weren’t as good either.

MoS is a GREAT reboot. A modern, action- packed, Sci-fi superhero film with loads of heart and a great story.

Henry Cavill kills it as Superman. This is a much more modern take on the character and on the concept of Kryptonians coming to earth.

Well worth a watch!

Very good lots of action very entertaining!

I tried to download the SD version of this film several times today on two different wifi connections with 6gig to spare on my iPad but it keeps failing or my iPad restarts. Looked up plenty of help pages. V.frustrated, a Saturday wasted.

Amazing. Probably the best film I've seen in a very long time. Certainly the best superhero film I've seen in a long time.

This has to be one of the best super hero movies out there. Has a real feel to it and the soundtrack is great.

Only good for the speciap effects

An overhyped busted block, where the film makers have took a beloved superhero and have managed the incredible feat of sucking all the joy from him.

This features superman as a sour joyless hobo who when destroying whole towns and city's, mopes around like a sullen orphan as the forgettable score blasts in tune to the cgi.

Excellent. Fantastic. Wonderful. Amazing. This whole film is just perfect, great effects coupled with a killer score put this movie in a league of its own. I only have one negative and I'm sure most people would agree (judging by the grumble in the cinema) that the comment by the woman at the end of the movie was such a mistake. Too cheesy and cringeworthy to even write down.

Trying hard to balance characterisation and action and fails on both counts. The action is too fast - falling into the same trap as The Matrix Reloaded with computer animation looking very false and camera angles and fast movements which distract from any sense of grandeur and CinemaScope. No chemistry between the male and female leads. Wooden acting and not particularly menacing Zod. First scenes on Krypton are very good with Russell Crowe, but all down hill from there. Can't express my disappointment enough.

The superman story was always quite thin and over simplistic product of the 50s. The movie is well produced and well acted. However even though the story is updated with interesting new angles/tweaks the core of the story is boring. Especially the motivations behind the characters are very cliche.

Superman gets his powers from the rays of the sun so inside a spaceship they cease, even though he is told that he has grown beyond normal because of the nourishing environment of Earth. And what about below the ice where the sun doesn’t shine either…

The whole plot is thoroughly B movie territory.

Awful. Awful. Awful. Where has the art of storytelling gone? There was no plot, no story, no purpose, no narrative.

Man of Steel was a strange film. On one hand, I think that if someone like superman were to come to earth events would unfold in a similar way and visually the film is spectacular. However, I think the characters are under developed and the film loses a sense of cohesion just after the 90 minute mark. I mean I have to point out that super mans natural birth being criminal is not mentioned for the rest of the film. As for the casting , I guess everyone did well with the material given. However I thought Fishburne was shockingly under featured as well as the daily planet crew.

Got rid of that fluffy character from the past and remoulded it into this hard hitting dude. This film has done what the Dark knight trilogy did for batman. Remember the old batman films with Michael Keaton and Danny Devito as the Penguin? What was that horrendous version with George Clooney?

I really did enjoy this, well done DC, pulled one over Marvel this time.

Best superhero film I've ever seen

…But I thought that this was one of the worst written scripts I have seen in a long time. Out of principle I never stop watching a film once started but this one took me close on a number of occasions. Snyder, Nolan and Goyer together should guarantee a winner any day of the week but instead it felt to me like a complete sellout. I get that they needed to keep the DC comic world open and in doing so “position" the character accordingly but this shouldn’t be at the expense of the narrative of this film.

i just in love with this movie especially with henry :), i could watch it over n over again , great story and something different that all those stories about superman before.

Superman has always been my least favourite super hero. He's not nearly as funny as Green Lantern and not dark and twisty like Batman. This movie has changed my mind a little, he has issues, he's more 3 dimensional which is a relief.. The action is good as well as Kevin Costner quietly stealing scenes, we'll worth a watch!

They copied the exact story from the 1st superman movie with christopher reeve. I found this disapointing because I was expecting an original story line. However they did change bits and bobs and the special effects were amazing.

Iam 15 and I don't usually enjoy movies like this but this was a great film it's such a shame it took me 4 hours to watch due to the poor effort of apple and iTunes.

Worth the watch maybe not on apple

A film that had so much promise, but it felt as though the director lost his way near the end. The story line was strong for most of the film then it just falls into techy graphics.

I've seen it in the cinema and from my laptop. Both times the experience has been more than enjoyable. The CGI is stunning, the soundtrack absolutely out of the world. The film tries to capture the struggles of a man, coming to grips with the power and responsibility of becoming superman. It is about his identity, the building of superman through the sacrifices he makes , and the realisation of his purpose.

A lot of reviews seem to criticise the film in comparison to Superman. However this is Man of Steel. Let it make it own's mark.

After watching the film, i recommend looking up the training regime Henry Cavill went through to 'become' superman. The dedication and commitment to the workouts, was not only designed to make him look like superman, but actually a process by which he himself, as an actor, became superman. Once you incorporate this into the film, many scenes hold a much more significant meaning. And it will change your perspective of the film completely. Henry Cavill, in my eyes is fantastic, and encapsulates the theme of the film. His performance is eerie, foreboding, but resonates power and that sense of destiny.

Well worth the wait.

Compared to the original this does do the franchise justice. Unbelievable SFX - highly recommended.

Look this Superman Movie Is really Good. This is how superman should be. A perfect Example. Do I prefer Superman Returns? No way! This is way better!!

I assume majority of people that critiqued this movie are old. As a young person growing up watching superman and justice league this movie is what i expected a comic creation brought to reality. I am very proud of the production team and actors DC movies never disappoint. Looking forward to Batman vs Superman but I don't approve of the actress for wonder woman please change and Ben Afflick as Batman will fail.

Worth downloading

It does have mixed reviews and opinions, but if you're a) a film buff, b) a superman fan and c) a Nolan fan, you should love it.

Finally saw my favourite superhero in his ultimate glory & awesomeness!

Rebooting the franchise is the term I keep hearing - well, Man of Steel has taken the Christopher Reeve era Superman movies, tarted up the script (a bit), recast the roles and invested heavily in CGI. The result is a face lifted movie - it’s ok, but strangely unfulfilling.

140 minutes is too long and even some of the action scenes dragged to the point of me wanting to shout at the screen “get on with it!”. The cast list is fairly impressive, as are the CGI effects - but it feels like this has been done to divert you from a plodding, over serious script, with characters which you can’t empathise with. Yes Superman is an alien, we get that, but we should be able to see some emotion in the performance? Either the script forgets that or Henry Cavill was so focused on having the perfect physique that he forgot to act! As for Louis Lane… yeah least said there the better.

I wanted to enjoy it, I really did, but the film just didn’t engage my inner child and left me feeling cold and a little disappointed - Christopher Reeve remains my Superman!

Pretty good, cant wait for the sequal

You will want your money back after watching this turkey. It's bad in the same way that Iron Man 3 is.
