Good film but annoyed Dolby atmos has vanished??

Mad max fury road is directed by the incredible George Miller, starring Tom Hardy as Mad max and Charlize Theron as feriosa.

I think this is possibly the greatest 80’s action movie that didn’t come out in the 80’s. The plot is all about a badass woman named feriosa who is trying to smuggle out all the wives of our antagonist named immortan Joe who has done very unpleasant things to them and max who is caught up in the middle of this.

You know what’s funny this movie doesn’t have obnoxious shaky cam or just cgi because the cast doesn’t love their craft. This movie changed that entirely with gorgeous shots and dazzling cinematography. The stunts were some of the best I’ve seen in a long time. Now this movie is 2 hours long and this movie is non stop action from begging to end so if your looking for just some fun this movie will probably be your favourite action movie of the decade.

This movie also actually has a lot of heart and emotion and it’s very cleverly handled in a world where cars are flying everywhere and people are being shot at terrific actors.

Finally the score...... it was amazing the score I loved it I listen to it maybe every week or so when I’m sitting in a car.

When I first watched this, I thought it was an absolutely mess of a film. But after a reluctant second watch, I was drawn in and appreciate what was going on and the intenseness of it.

They go half way to somewhere, turn around and go back again: proving it is the journey that counts, not the destination 😁

I have already watched this multiple times on an amazon prime purchase and on Netflix. Nothing prepared me for the difference the 4K version brings. Awesome detail and beautiful colours just make this a treat for the eyes. Also it’s a top movie to watch again and again.

Most people I know hate this movie but I absolutely love it. It’s pure atmosphere and amazing cinematography that you just have to see.

I think some people just don’t get it.

A wonderful movie. Bought this on iTunes for the extras specifically and they don't dissapoint. Especially when months later the extras are updated giving you the new Black & Chrome version of the film for free. Outstanding!

Cannot understand the haters. This is a brilliant movie and by my own admission I am hard to please. Well written and brilliantly filmed. Ive watched it 5 times and still not bored.

This is simply fantastic - all you one star folk must have watched a different movie. Or not like stunts. Or special effects. On a sheer what's on the screen before you kind of way, this is without parallel. And that's not all, it's got real depth, real heart, a real core. Sure, the idea that there could really be a world like this, with water splashing down like that, and gangs like these... it's simply illogical. If you thought that I'd advise watching it again, and watching it with it as a metaphorical not literal interpretation. This is a real world alright. It's just that it is scarily like our world. fighting over bullets, women, water, freedom, oppression, gods, glory, respect, self belief. Of course the dialogues spare. It doesn't spell these things out in cheeseball conversation - but it's all there infront of you. What do you mean there's no story? sure it's all one long chase there and back again. But so what - so is life. cannot rate this too highly, the only way you'll not like this is if you are too literal minded or just don't like anykind of depiction of violence, danger or stunts.

Some of the best action sequences I've ever seen. Never seen the originals but this was really entertaining. Greats visuals and imagination.

This film makes me smile...I'm 48 years old & I totally love it! It's a pure action movie that's, mad, gritty, random, twisted & incredible. The cars are beefy, the filming is amazing. A must see for anyone who loves a bit of a crazy ride. The best road movie around!

Not the best honestly, but it's nice to see a film that doesn't treat you like an idiot. You have to think to understand some parts of the back ground. It looks amazing and I personally feel it was worth the money. Highly recommend

Avoid, I have no idea how so many people rate this film!

Car chase away from a big rock and a dictator man. they then decide to go back to where they started and get chased there too. The end.

No hint of a solid storyline, the characters are rubbish and 99% of the acting is rubbish.

The film is called Mad Max but he is only a side character to Furiosa.

No backstory, had no idea what was going on the majority of the time and was a complete waste of time.

Compared to the originals, extremely disappointing, no storyline, the portrayal and character of Max is rank, hyped up and grossly overrated.

Annoyed I paid £9.99 to buy this film.....can't understand why it's so highly rated? Good action scenes.....no substance whatsoever.....poor to be honest....

Perhaps I need to watch it a second time, but watching it the first time was an intense (as in, not in a good way) experience. Talk about brain overload. This film was too much for me. The action sequences were so immersive. I felt dizzy afterwards. This film takes car chases and explosions etc. and turns it all up to 11. If that kind of thing turns you on, then go for it.

Proof that people will watch anything. The worst film I have watched in years. And I bought it....damn.

OK so put Tom Hardy, Charlize Theron, Nicholas Hoult and some other ‘known’ faces together in an all out action movie and what do you get….. utter tripe. They totally forgot the story with this movie.

Various things that would make what little plot there is more interesting go completely unexplained and are left for you to make up your own mind.

Overall its a chase movie where the chase spends one hour going that way then another hour going back again. C- Must do better

Not the fault of iTunes I guess but watching this with the audio set to stereo (most folks won't have an all singing and dancing 5 channel dolby digital surround processor handy) mars the experience. For some reason, some producers just don't bother to produce decent 2-channel versions of their soundtracks. It's not difficult to do it, but does require a commitment to do so. With MMF, the sound producers haven't bothered so the soundtrack sounds compressed, muffled and just plain terrible! If like me, you don't have the space for five speakers and a woofer or a decent soundbar handy, watch in the cinema!!

Cannot find anything good to say about this film. The people giving 5 stars on here and writing good reviews either work for the film company or Apple.

Fantastic film, great cast high octane, sleek film a must for petrol-heads

This movie had a lot to live up to, and didn't reach the heights of the original movies. There were action sequences that kept me mesmerised. They were followed by a lull, which meant I lost interest until the action kicked in again.

Good action and will watch again, but there is just something lacking in the building up of the characters that gets you really involved in the film. Not a classic but worth it for the action scenes.

I cannot remember the last time I turned off a film. This is shockingly bad, and after 45mins I really couldn’t watch any more. I love a action movies, sci-fi etc, this is trash

Good but not as good as the two previous films in my opinion

They drive one way and then turn around. This whole movie was turned up to 11 from the start. A lot of explosions, a lot of sand and not a lot of dialogue. I was expecting a lot, so was disappointed. A pity as I like Charlie Thurzon, Tom Hardy & Nicholas Hoult. I suppose worth watching but turn down your expectations and don’t expect to empathise with the rather 1 dimensional characters.

Watched this on a long flight and boy was I disappointed. Loved the originals having grown up with them and this was just so far away from them. Why try and kill a good old trilogy with a pathetic remake. Avoid this if you liked the originals because it will destroy them for you.

It's just not very good. Watched it and about halfway through I just thought I'd rather do something else. But I stuck it out.... I wish I hadn't. There's no real plot and It really isn't about the Max character.

Loved the old Mad Max, but this is nowhere near as good. In fact id have to say its dreadful. Its like watching a 2 hour preview of a game. No plot, bad acting, no dialog whats so ever. My advice give it a miss and watch the originals

This is not a patch on the Road Warrior. Fairly disappointing all round really. Didn’t really do anything for me. Mad Max was more like mentally unwell Max. Charlize Theron is brilliant actress and I think the plot may have been better had this not been a Mad Max film at all; Tom Hardy had hardly any reason to be there. The constant effects, well done or not, became wearisome. I just really thought the whole thing was mildly pointless and just tried to spin the best bit of Mad Max 2 into 2 hours, which became boring quite quickly. Avoid.

Good actors. Clever cinematography. Weak storyline, just repeats and repeats battles with cars.

This is a badly made movie, nothing like the original mad max. This movie has no story and is poorly acted. Mostly computer graphics don't waist your money

Terrible film... Wasted time I will never recover!

Having watched the previous Mad Max films, when they were originally released, (yes I am that old) I was full of anticipation. All I can say is what a massive disappointment, there was virtually no story line and at 2 hours it felt like 4.

This is a poor film. The cinematic style in action sequences where it is deliberately speeded up is at best annoying and at worst completely distracting. The acting - well there isn't much just some grunts. It's completely over hyped. If you're 15 it's probably fine but if you're older I wouldn't bother.

I debated wether to buy this as I had been warned it wasn’t any good, but the IMDB rating and reviews on here swayed me. Well never again - this is absolute rubbish. There really is no story. Acting is pathetic, not that it is called for really. I just don’t understand what everyone sees in it. I never made the end of the film. I couldn’t care less what happened - the end was just taking too long to happen.

'Witness' the spectacle that is this jaw dropping film. From the soundtrack to the visuals, this film is as epic and mad as you'd expect. Charlize Theron makes an outstanding performance next to Tom Hardy and together, they truly make this film what it is - an all out spectacle of film. The action doesn't stop from the get-go, so brace yourself... It's a lovely day.

I thought this might be worth a try. In fairness, I never got into the originals and found them dull but thought some modern techniques and a bigger budget may do something about that. I was as bored as ever by it. I agree with the few discussing lack of character depth, this is very one dimensional. Fair play if it's your thing but if like me you've never been big on the first ones and wonder if this one will be better you'll possibly be disappointed. But as ever, it's your mind to make up.

A fantastic action film that goes full throttle from the first frame to the last. Probably the best film from this summer's crop of blockbusters.

Don't forget, most of the vehicles and stunts were done practically, very little CGI was used, which makes things doubly impressive!

The detail, the cars, the costumes, the imagination...! You need to see this film 5 times to appreciate the effort of detail. Truly wonderful film, hope they make a follow on!! Well worth buying!!!

This film looks gorgeous. Best cinematography I’ve seen in ages. The sets, the design, the light, the CGI, it’s all amazing. The other parts (story, character, dialogue etc) were rather rubbish IMHO. I can get why folks dug it, and as a teenager I would have too, but maybe I’ve just seen enough pointless action movies to really get excited about this in any other way than an example of how to shoot a desert movie.

What a spectacular ride!

In the current age of reboots and remakes, it's refreshing to see a film that instead is a genuine sequel. Nor does it waste any time on explaining the back story. Everyone that's interested in this film will be familiar with the previous 3 films, and this 4th instalment doesn't waste any time going over old ground. It even throws in a number of Easter eggs for those very familiar with the early films. Don't expect Shakespeare, but the special fx (old school, non-cg) and the vehicular stunts are incredible and well worth the watching. Can't wait for the 5th film and the next episode in the legend of Max the Road Warrior

Absolutely loved this film. Fantastic cast, creative, constant action. I'm a big Tom Hardy fan what more can I say....

I don't understand ishizzler or other reviews that bemoan the characters and film depth. MAD MAX is more than just this film and anyone picking it up from here is missing out.

A wonderful film and addition to the series quality high octane classic mad max. I would presume these negative comments would t enjoy even the first 2 classics because they are not shot in IMAX 20 odd years ago.

There's little to like here outside of some of the action sequences.

A rushed and lazy opening, which feels like part of the film is missing, and then two hours without any specific plot, and full of characters lacking any depth or development.

There's no exploration of Max's background, or explanation of his part in the film - he doesn't even feel like the main character!

The minimalistic approach to dialogue means this is a walk in the park for Theron and Hardy, who both deserve better.

The vehicles are generally impressive, and the action well presented, but it's not enough to save a film has no direction.

Pulp Fiction is a masterpiece. The Godfather: Part II is a masterpiece. The original trilogy of Star Wars films, and the first two Aliens films are all masterpieces. This film doesn't rank alongside those, and is no more than a shoddy mess of a summer blockbuster.

A fantastic comeback from mastermind George Miller! Bigger budget, bigger explosions, bigger characters, bigger setting, and a bigger extraordinary car chase!

Now that to me is a recipe for a classic thrill ride!

Michael Bay must have had an epileptic fit at the amount of explosions!

Action packed, Gun smoking, car crashing, erupting chaos on the screen!

I can't find the words. You just have to see it, (preferably at the cinema in 3D). Make sure you have people on standby who've seen it or will see it with you; you'll want to talk about this film constantly for about 24 hours afterwards. If you can't get to a theme park, watch this, the adrenaline rush is incredible. Scrap that, if you can get to a theme park, watch this instead.

Odd film. Probably lots will love it, just couldn't get excited.

When it's on SKY in 12-18mts I'd not switch over to watch it a second time.

action masterpiece. impossible not to fall in love with Charlize in this film. the authoritative figure she plays in this film is absolutely charming. the action is intense. a few times left me shocked at certain characters death just taking me by surprise. definitely recommend it. so far the best film I've seen this year.

This is what I've been looking for in a film. Gripping from start to finish with a fabulous setting and sound track to compliment.

I just watched it today, so I may be jumping the gun a little by saying this, but I think this is my new favourite film. Of the year, for sure. I even downloaded the soundtrack - awesome driving music; although, I must resist the urge to drive like a maniac when listening to this.
