I have been a fan of Avril right from the start, when she released Complicated. I loved her rock chick / tomboy style and her amazing songs and attitude! Now Girlfriend has been released I have noticed that lots of her old fans have started badmouthing her and saying that her songs are rubbish now. I totally disagree with them, and they were obviously not real fans from the start or they would have stuck by Avril right through her career. I think Avril looks great with blonde hair, and her clothes may have gone a bit more girly but I love them. Avril's is just showing her other side, because the only one we have seen so far is typical tomboy / rock chick. Avril's still a rock chick, she's just showing her more girly, bubbley and fun personality through her songs. Underneath the change, its still Avril, and she is even better than before! Her voice sounds exactly the same, give her new stuff a chance, because its totally awesome!!! Go Avril! Buy this video, its got cool dance moves and a great shot with the band, too. Avril Lavigne was amazing before she gave in to glamour and modeling. She was great at writing powerful and poetic lyrics but "girlfriend" is disgraceful. Avril needs to forget about being popular and go back to her old style of music which actually had meaning. need i say more?

I am loving this song and video, I literally can't stop listening to it! Its so much fun to sing along and dance to, I really like the fun poppy sound! Loving Avrils new look too :)

She's changed so much it's hard to take in.. I only saw her on Punk'd with blonde hair, and I thought fine, she looks alright, but I didn't think she'd go this far.. She's ditched her tomboy veneer and has chosen to become what she used to mock in her songs!

To be honest, I preferred her when her songs were meaningful... She's just a commercial artificial blonde who is contradicting herself through her new songs and style. But apart form that, her voice is repulsive! It sounds so preppy now.. She disguists me.

What happened to the old Avril we knew and loved??? She's lost her individuality and is just another fake candy pop princess!!! And the song has as much depth as a paddling pool! Definitely not her best efforts.
