Prepare to lose your reading time!
I started listening to this podcast summer ‘17 on recommendation of a friend and on the back of enjoying an actual play DnD 5th edition podcast. I had never played a tabletop RPG, and still have not, but having had a soft intro into the genre was excited to get into something a little more advanced.
8 or so months and a couple of hundred episodes later I have finally caught up, reluctantly accepting with an appropriate sense of loss that the team cannot make 10 hours of content for me to listen to every week. For all that time, I would listen to the podcast on my commute, managing 2 episodes a day and it was intoxicating.
I think many people could be put off by rules and whatnot, but the team do not let it slow down the compelling storytelling and what I actually found is that the rules make the rolls and story direction have tangible and impactful consequences. The end game is important and the character stories are also important but nothing is sacred, every life is on the line and it just makes the progress and rewards sweeter in the end.
I can’t sing its praises enough. Listen, enjoy, get involved, join the discord, go to the conventions, subscribe to the patreon for sweet additional stories and immerse yourself in the great world of Pathfinder, lovingly celebrated and channelled through the GCP team!
