Description

British comedian Adam Buxton talks with interesting people. The rambly conversations are sometimes funny, sometimes more serious with funny bits. Adam makes the jingles and records the intros and outros for most episodes while walking with his dog friend Rosie in the East Anglian countryside where he lives with his wife and three children.
Adam has appeared in films such as Hot Fuzz, Stardust and Son Of Rambow as well as a variety of TV shows in the UK. Since 2007 he has hosted BUG, a live show that combines music videos and comedy that became a TV series on Sky Atlantic in 2012. From time to time he also does live shows featuring just his own material. Along with lifelong friend Joe Cornish he also is one half of award winning TV, radio and podcast duo Adam & Joe who have worked together since 1995.
You can find many of the insanely catchy jingles Adam makes for the podcast as well as amazing bonus material, beautiful merchandise and a selection of his incredibly funny and brilliant YouTube videos on Adam's website: adam-buxton.co.uk
Adam is writing this himself using the third person.

Wonderful but frustratingly irregular

Probably the best podcast there is, but is marred somewhat by Dr. Buckles lack of regularity in posting during each season. If Buckles bought a calendar, it might be perfect.

Enjoyable and lovely

Thanks Adam for your podcasts. Recently, really enjoyed K Wix/J Davis pods. Plus your Norfolk dog walk introductions are lovely.

Years and years of Adam but I found one thing…

Massive misunderstanding Adam when Kayvan was (towards the end of his podcast) touching upon his identity as an Iranian British, conflicted identity due to belonging to a country of your birth and not being fully accepted as an talented individual (because of micro aggressions from the English folk) you Adam dismissed this as a ‘losing your mind, voices inside Kayvan’s head, rambling etc’ type of remark. This isn’t great and not what I expected of you mate. He was sincere. He spoke for me. I agreed and connected to his experiences. You dismissed it all, with a chuckle… it’s a typical white micro aggressions thing to do.

For me the best there is

Thanks you Adam for the years of superb entertainment. This is an extremely enjoyable podcast. The range of guests is superb. When it’s funny it is very funny. Never missed an episode and never will.

A really well crafted podcast. The guests are always a delight. Adam’s interview with Kazuo Ishiguro is thoughtful and beautiful, others are just so funny.
I download so many podcasts that sometimes I try to be selective and delete those where eg I don’t recognise the guest, but NEVER Adam’s.

This was a sublime podcast listen, both such talented mimics and felt like we were listening in to two friends having a natter. Adam has such a gentle and warm delivery and I absolutely love that he puts so much effort into the adverts, normally this is an annoying necessity but he somehow manages to make them a hi light , absolutely no one else manages that, it shows so much respect for his audience.

I’ve listened to and loved Adam’s podcast for a few years now. Great variety of guests and the jingles (and adverts!) really add a great deal. I just can’t put into words how much I enjoy and have benefitted from listening to this podcast! We went to see Adam live in Belfast yesterday and it was also brilliant- highly recommended.

I love this podcast for lots of reasons, one being it introduced me to David Sedaris and his wonderful books!
Adam Buxton and his dog Rosie have created a lovely friendly space to enjoy the fascinating stories his guests share.

I loved the Adam and Joe Show when I was a youngster and talked about them all the time with my friends at school. My friend from university listens to this podcast and recommended it to me because he knew I’d love this. He was absolutely right! The guests are great and I love listening to Adam (and Joe) now they’re grown ups. Amazing!
Went to see Adam at his live show in Canterbury recently and had such a great night. Like spending time with an old friend 😊

Loved the Julia Davis episode. Thank you both so much for this. Prompted me to check out a few things I hadn’t seen before, such as Camping. Glad I did.
It feels wrong to compare Julia’s art to the bubblegum that is Fleabag.

I love Adam!!!

This is my go to podcast for soothing me when cooking, on walks and bike rides and when I am pretending to engage with the kids with one headphone in. Adam is such a down to earth calming presence in my life with interesting guests who he brings the best out of with his disarming charm.
I have adored Adam since the Adam and Joe days. My favourite episodes of the podcast are when Adam and Joe reunite to demonstrate their gloriously complex, loving and hilarious friendship.
More of all of it Ads please (even the ads!). I am in awe of your creativity!!
Love you BYEEEEEEE!!!!!

I first listened to this pod because I like Tommy Tiernan, so that episode popped up in my suggestions. That was September 9th I believe. Since then I have listened to every minute of every episode, finally catching up just before the Julia Davis. Funny, surprising and full of empathy.

Julia Davies and Buckles were critical, but I loved this episode. Honest and interesting and definitely very funny just not in an “obvious gag” kinda way. A more subtle effortless humour cos they are just funny people. Also, cannot believe anyone would stop listening before the end. I diligently wait for my hug / I love you / scream like a kid waiting to take communion.

I like when Adam says that in his silly voice and I also love hearing his little feet crunching on the ground when he’s recording his links.
I’ve gone back to the very beginning and am listening to them all again. Even better the second time around.
Thank you, Adam, you have literally saved me.

Never fails to cheer me up. Always have a right good giggle. Kept me in great company when nervy on a plane just recently. Adam Buxton: will you be my dad?
Top notch interview style, always carried out sensitively and in good humour. Really sad that I’ve listened to them all. I wish I’d just discovered them now so I could delve into the back catalogue. Even tho I do and will on a regular basis anyway.

I could listen to Buckles all day but he also has the best guests - from listening to this podcast over the years I’ve discovered David Sedaris, Jon Ronson and many other wonderful people I may not have come across. Really warm, funny and interesting podcast - what more do you need. And not to mention the ads and jingles.

David Sedaris episode was excellent. I found it hilarious, though I expect a lot of people would find some of his comments ‘unacceptable’. Personally I agreed with most of it and found him refreshingly funny and honest.
