Best podcast going.

Podcasts can take many forms, but the format that seems to be the most enduring and endearing is one that sounds like a few mates sitting around a microphone having a chat and a laugh. The Retro Hour has this format down perfectly, and is the ideal vehicle for the knowledgeable anchors, Dan and Ravi, to share news, their opinions and perspectives. Like all the best podcasts this sounds effortless and belies the detailed research and massive efforts that underpin it. The news/interview format works really well, and i love checking out who’s on this week, as well as going back into the archives for skme amazing guests. Recommended listening for anyone who’s a fan of retrogaming or just wants to reflect on how we used to game.

The team know their stuff and it shows, the format works well and the news and guest keeps it interesting each episode.

Loving this podcast guys, it’s nice hearing thoughts & opinions from yourselves & your guests about the computers & consoles I had or played on during the 1980s & 1990s :) I had a C64, Master System, Mega Drive, Amiga 600 then a PC & my last console was the first X-Box,

my friends had Atari’s, Amstrads, Spectrums, NES’s & SNES’s & so I experienced most.. of the old classic systems :) keep up the good work guys!

Thanks so much for all your hard work chaps. Currently binging from the start and up to episode 80 so far. A fantastic insight in for the world of retro, modern retro all accompanied by some cracking interviews with industry insiders of the time. Well worth a listen if you love feeling all warm and fuzzy inside about the golden era of gaming.

I have been listening to this podcast for over a year. Finally using my iPad to consume them, hence the late iTunes review. First episode was thanks to LGR being interviewed, then it was week after week of being amazed at the legends they uncovering and interviewing. Somewhere out there , Geoff Crammond is sitting in his house to frightened to answer the phone or a knock on the door ! Keep it up guys. There are people who don’t deserve to be forgotten (even if they want to be).

Brilliant mix of retro news, reminiscing, and top quality guests from back in the day. And the hosts are terrific too - should be on the radio!

Really well produced podcast. Most episodes are split in to two halves. In the first half the hosts discuss retro gaming news, and the second half is an interview. The guests are always very interesting. The only retro gaming podcast I listen to.

There's a reason these guys have over a hundred episodes under their belts... they're addicts! And very good at it.

Take a listen and I expect you will be hooked just like I was. The interviews have been varied, often enlightening and always a pleasure to listen to.

Up there as one of the best retro gaming podcast out there!

I love The Retro Hour podcasts, the enthusiasm of Dan & Ravi along with the brilliant guests make it essential listening for me. Crazy (& very impressive) that they put this out on a weekly basis! I’ve been a fan for a long time and hope they continue making more of these excellent shows.

I will just start by saying ive tried so many different retro game podcasts and none have ever been as informative and interesting as the retro hour podcast. With Dan and ravi giving a great first section of latest news and then the second half an interview with a retro gaming icon. This could be a programmer or gaming artist from the classic games. No other retro gaming podcast comes close to this one. Pete in kent.

Sometimes you don’t realise what you want till you get it .

Excellent chat on all things retro with a certain Amiga bias (which works for me). Bits of modern stuff too peeks through occasionally. Guests have included musicians, artists, programmers and people from the smallest to the largest game companies and games related media. Occasional lapses into domestic life also welcome. Still want to hear from the Yak sometime!

Love this show! Every week, Dan and Ravi knock it out of the park with an extremely professional and entertaining podcast. 1st half is news and chat, 2nd half is an interview with a key figure in the retro scene. Keep up the great work chaps!

Great format with all the recent retro news followed by superbly conducted interviews of gaming legends and other prominent figures in the retro scene. Only found these guys last month and already working through the back catalogue. Highly recommended!

I've been inspired to resurrect my old Acorn Archimedes on which I created my first commercially released game back in 1990. Just got to get it out of my parents loft, I should even have the C compiler discs and old source code with it 👍

Been a fan since episode one and enjoyed Dan's YouTube stuff before then. The Retro Hour is a really nicely produced and presented retro gaming and tech news podcast. They have nailed the format with a breif run down of the weeks news followed by some fascinating interviews with some genuinely interesting characters from the retro world. Dan and Ravi are enthusiastic and know their stuff. Keep up the good work gents!

I'm an avid follower of several retrogaming podcasts and I was a little late to the game on this one, but I have been hooked ever since. Not only are the hosts extremely knowledgeable and also very likeable, but they have some amazing interviews. Very well made, entertaining, fascinating and high quality. Top class all the way.

I've been listening/ watching Dan and Ravi on Youtube for years, as soon as they announced this podcast I started listening on my Monday commute.

The heavily oversaturated retro gaming podcast scene, with poor quality content was headed for a crash 1983 style. Step in Ravi & Dan who, with their slick format and even slicker presenting voices, saved UK podcasting. Great stuff guys. Thanks for you all you've done for the community.

I have been a podcast listener for many years and an avid retro gamer. This podcast has set a new high in podcast production and content. Not only are the interviews fantastic and the news items interesting, but Dan and Avi's skills as hosts are Slick and personable. This is how all podcasts should be made.

The best Retro based Podcast by far. Always delivered with passion as well as a superb knowledge of the retro games scene. Have no idea how they manage to get some of the special guests (Lucasarts , Team 17, Fairlight) but they make an already unmissable show even better. Trust me when I say this show should come with a warning because you will be spending the next few weeks catching up on the missed Podcasts as your bank account takes a hammering from all of the retro consoles / systems you've suddenly decided to buy from a certain auction site ! ....
