Having been predominantly a classical musician, as a late-comer to learning to play Jazz and even understanding the medium, I find this podcast a very good resource for the learning I have to undertake. Thanks.

This is an excellent podcast. Wonder if we could hear a little bit on the modes of the melodic minor as I’m shedding that at the moment.
Loving all the content though
This podcast has really rejuvenated my love of jazz and has motivated me to focus my practice. Giving me lots of useful tips and a direction to go when i'm struggling with where I'm going wrong. Brent is very knowledgable, but also has many useful guests on giving different points of view. A must listen if you're interested in improving your jazz!
Really great help to me as I return to trumpet improvisation after a 20 year break.
It took me while to get around to listening to this podcast but I'm glad I've finally developed the habit. As well as reinforcing some of my hunches about what works in practising (jazz or any other musical form), it's a real treasure trove of ideas and perspectives I'd never even considered. I can hear my playing improving already. Thanks.
Really useful, well thought out guidance on improving one’s jazz playing with something there for all levels of experience and proficiency. Brent’s enthusiasm and passion for jazz shines through. Highly recommended.
An incredible free service for the jazz world...
Full of great tips and advice, I’ve learnt loads from this!
Great podcast about all things jazz . Learn jazz standards its in the title.
I have enjoyed the many episodes that have been published - a great balance of content with thorough yet useful detail on theoretical matters and on the practice of pracitising. Hoghly recommended.
As I said last October, I feel that my knowledge and ability aren't up to some of the things dealt with in this podcast. I continue to be an enthusiastic subscriber because there's so much interesting material here.
Came across this podcast by accident. It is great really imformative listened to 4/5 of these today already. This is a genre I am working hard towards playing more. I may not agree with everything but it is full of information, really worth a subscribe! Thanks :)
Excellent, honest, straightforward, no-nonsense. They may all be cliche buzz words, but they still genuinely apply to this podcast. I will add to my review in the months and years to come with my progress
Love listening to these. Lots of new ideas and direction. Open discussions of common problems with a focus on solutions and goals. Highly recommended. Keep it up!
A great site for learning about everything to do with jazz music improving & improvisation! Really recommend. Always gets my itchy ears in the mood to listen to the next one! Keep doing what you are doing. They deserve well more reviews!
Very clear and useful guide for learning jazz. Love it
This is one of the first resources I've listened to that's really been useful in informing you how to approach getting better as a jazz musician. Already I'm finding the insights really honest and refreshing compared to others out there that just tell you to do 'x' rather than giving you resources to learn yourself.
Really struggled getting into jazz from a playing and listening perspective before this podcast.
Brent really keeps you interested and on your toes with his different topics each week varying from which jazz artists to listen to, to weekly challenges to help improve your playing.
Keep it up!
Great jazz podcast for instrumentalists or beginners of all kinds. Fascinating discussions and tips about performance, practice and jazz in general. Really drives home the fundamentals and expands horizons for all musicians 5/5.
