I used to love these guys from way back in the Joypod days but they have really lost their way unfortunately…

TCGS holds a special place in my heart. I listened to my first episode (2020 game of the year special) in late December 2020, on a dark morning starting a new fitness regime. I’ve never missed an episode since and it’s genuinely one of the funniest and entertaining podcasts around. It helps if you love computer games, but actually that is not essential as *spoiler alert* they often talk about ridiculous things unrelated to computer games. Just listen and subscribe- you’ll thank me.

Their attempt to deal with gender politics this week was cringeworthy nonsense. They clearly have no idea what they are talking about. One star and goodbye, you misogynist idiots.

A consistently fun and enjoyable listen which is no easy feat.

I recently signed up for the JFAS and cannot believe that JF is not the “Main One”. I signed up at the “Goblin of News” level and expect at least 30 minutes of quality news items and at least one Stadia report every week.

I may be forced to change my sub to “Little Chief” level.

Been listening to these chaps in various forms for many years. Probably funnier now than ever. A really good podcast to paint your fence to.

It’s such a great thing that TCGS exists-- David, Sean, Mat and James have made something really special here. The podcast is mainly dedicated to interesting and (mostly) well-informed chat about video games and the video game industry. One particularly admirable thing is that they often cover stories about darker sides of the industry (stories which other podcasts might not want to spend time on), and they always approach these topics with a lot of sensitivity and thought. These are four good leds.

As for their discussion of the games themselves, their own reactions to what they’re playing are put front and centre, which makes for a really personal and pleasantly unpolished experience. On this podcast, you’ll meet someone who thinks that Red Dead 2 is last-gen, Super Metroid is bad, and— perhaps worst of all— Detroit: Become Human is *good*. And you’ll come out the other end thinking he’s an alright guy. Madness.

Really, though, this podcast isn’t about the games. (I didn’t even own a console for the first 6 months or so I was listening). It’s about eavesdropping on chat between four very funny people, hearing about their lives, and getting that feeling of you-don’t-really-know-them-but-they’re-your-mates that only great podcasts can give you.

Great podcast that’s laid back and covers all the latest news. Don’t agree with their Halo opinions though; Halo 2’s story being bad and Halo 4’s multiplayer being “excellent” are just some of the disgusting views you’ll be subjected too. Other than that though it’s pretty good.

Can get a little pedantic thanks to that Matt Murray lad, who thinks games are the most important thing ever. He’s is clearly on the spectrum and also appears to struggle to read letters out loud.

Good, fun podcast that doesnt take itself too seriously.......until the left wing politics creep in and ruin it. This might be a bonus for some but can be grating and cringe inducing with some of the blinkered nonsense they come up with. (ethnic minorities dont like the Police, you know 'cos of rascism ....err really, no sweeping generalisiation or stereotyping there then?) Shrug that off and its well worth a listen.

And James is the main one.

Wonderful banter between these avid gamers, with an excellent host pulling everyone to order, makes you feel like you’re in the middle of a late night gaming chat with your mates! Keep up the good work. Uxorious.

A highlight of the week. Well researched news items and an obvious love for games with a healthy disrespect for some of the odder stuff in gaming culture. Love the dad stuff, love the sound of Mr Boomstick approaching break point every week, love the cookery show. Apparently they do streaming on Twitch but I’m 39 and don’t know what that is.

Used to love this Podcast, but they’ve just turned into communists... it’s quite scary really. I think they need to reconnect to their Grandparents from the war, they’ll have a thing or two to tell them about how bad Karl Marx was.

I've been listening to these guys for the best part of a decade on various podcasts. This podcast is the highlight of my opodcast listening week. I couldn't recommend this podcast highly enough

Recent podcasts became dark and unpleasunt. However, listened to first 5 mins of the latest podcast and there was a honest heart felt appology for a bad thought out joke that wasn't nice.

Now the team seems back on track and as excellent as always. Much easier to listen to, full of fun and insight. Hopefully the banter will relax and find a more respectful level.

It takes a big man to listen to the feedback and adjust, so respect where it's due. I have a bigger respect for the quick turnaround.

The podcast is now full of Laughs and Fun, just how it used to be and needs to be.

This was really one of the best gaming podcasts around from the start but since losing a member (albeit temporarily), it's become so unpleasant and mean spirited. I've gone from enjoying it all weekly, to ocasionally skipping over certain bits that tonally feel unpleasant, to tapping out all together minutes in.

Video games culture is a trash fire and this was, to begin with, a nice respite. I'm getting out before the phrase 'SJW' gets used without a hint of irony ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Never felt compelled to review a podcast before but Jon’s rants regarding Sea of Thieves on the last couple of episodes have just been amazing! Always loved the show!

Give it a try. Doesn’t take much patience to listen to as it’s interesting and I think it’s got real staying power.

Really enjoyable and funny podcast. Never fails to make me chuckle. Also as a parent myself I enjoy the little stories about the guys’ kids and their experiences with video games.

I found Joypod in the very week that it shut down, but loved what I did hear. This is the spiritual successor and is possibly even better. Lots of variety, game information and of course sick bants. Whatever that means.

I loved Joypod, so much so that I still have the last episode saved as I couldn't bear to delete it. (Midnight Resistance also ran).

I’ve spent the intervening time mourning the show and the giant “Turnip calling an Egg a Pedophile” shaped hole it left in my life. Now I discover I could have been listening to this show all the time.

WTF Elmo! Now I have over 80 episodes to catch up on you giant numpty.

(At least I don’t have to listen to any more off the Egg’s “will he or won’t he get a “job” in a prison” soap opera.)

I still say Turners and Adam Capone are the same person.

This podcast featuring the main one and friends is coincidentally my ‘main one’ when it comes to computer game shows.

David, James, Matt and (when possible) Sean have a great chemistry and mixture of opinions which leads to a podcast full of laughs and arguments. I look forward to it every week and their GOTY show is the only one that really matters.

Excellent podcast - hope it doesn’t deteriorate without Sean...

Having discovered this show around E3 time this year, I’ve been hooked ever since. The presenters are knowledgeable and passionate about games and always produce a fun and entertaining podcast every week. One of the highlights of my listening every week.

As much a comedy show as a gaming podcast, this is one of the most entertaining podcasts out there, with a great cast of characters debating and squabbling their way through a variety of topics. On first listen you would question whether they actually like each other, but mostly tongue is in cheek and there is real chemistry between the hosts. Love them all, and the show has given birth to many catchphrases, such as 'there are reasons.' A fantastic podcast, one of the very best.

It's fine.

If you like games and if you like people talking about games then listen to these guy's they talk about games. Ok!
