I'm a self-employed Spanish teacher in the UK and have been recommending Notes in Spanish to my learners for some years now. I love Ben and Marina's style of presentation and believe that this is an excellent resource for any learner.

A great resource for those wanting to brush up on their listening or learn new vocabulary.

I've been learning Spanish for a while, first taking it up at uni then spending a year of my course 'studying' in Spain. I say 'studying' as I have unfortunately never been the most studious of people and although my general level is pretty good, I'm definitely in need of some help brushing up/actually learning some grammar properly instead of just getting by! It's been difficult finding something that will motivate me and help take my Spanish up to the next level, but these Notes In Spanish Podcasts are brilliant. Just stick them on your iPod when you go for a walk or are in the car, and (if you're a bit lazy like me! ..or not) you'll probably find these thoughtful podcasts make learning the language really entertaining - instead of a chore which it can sometimes feel like! I really wish I'd found these a couple of years ago.. I've even been persuaded to curb my lazy streak so will be downloading the advanced worksheets.

Another great podcast on iTunes for those trying to learn Spanish. Ben and Marina are excellent company, the podcasts are ideal for someone trying to both learn Spanish and something about Spain. highly recommended, and their worksheets are well worth it too

This is a wonderful podcast. The format is simple but really effective, consisting of a serious of conversations about a variety of topics ranging from Spanish weddings to travelogues about hidden Spain. What's really great is that you are listening to authentic conversations and can pick up on the words and phrases that can enable you to converse naturally. There are transcripts available and these can really aid learning and language retention. I've tried lots of language courses and this is the closest thing to actually going over to Spain and practising with Spaniards.

I listen to quite a lot of language learning related podcasts and I can say that this is by far the best - I love the chemistry between Ben and Marina, you can tell they both love doing the 'cast' and I also love how they use everyday 'street' Castillian, which gives the show it's authentic feel.

I hardly knew any spanish at all and i listened to Ben and Marina's podcasts for 2 weeks before going to Spain. I just got back and the lessons proved to be invaluable, especially as I got into some difficult situations, and nobody spoke any English. Me and my friends were robbed, and I was stung by jellyfish, but managed to get by and these podcasts were fantastic! thank you so much

These podcasts have improved my Spanish listening skills beyond measure. They introduce current and colloquial Spanish vocabulary and phrases in an unpatronising and engaging way.

The content is varied and fascinating in the insight it provides into different aspects of Spanish culture and life.

Marina, Ben and the friends and family they involve from time to time have appealing personalities and seem to be natural broadcasters. The fact that Ben is English and Marina, his wife, is Spanish adds another dimension as he has a genuine insight into the difficulties for a foreign learner of Spanish while she provides the authentic native voice, accent and reference point. It is reassuring and occasionally amusing for us as learners to hear the fluent Ben being corrected by Marina in those minor errors it is almost impossble to eradicate from a language that is anything other than our mother tongue.

Re the previous reviewer: transcripts are available from the web site for a small fee as are other materials. I haven't yet bought them but I am sure they are very helpful.

A great resource and very accessible! I listen to these podcasts on my way to work. The topics are always interesting and the easy manner in which the subjets are discussed makes for a lively start to my day! I'm eagerly awaiting the next new batch of podcasts!

It's hard to better the easy style and presentation of Ben, Marina and their guests.

These podcasts are a breath of fresh air. Though they are clearly planned they are not scripted and therefore not stilted, as often happens when actors get involved. The accompanying transcripts allow the listener a point of reference to fall back on when the words whip past at lightnig speed; to spot use of tense and mood that are past in the bat of an eye and to begin to internalise tricky stuff like the subjunctive by hearing it in situe and reading to confirm what you heard. There is no better place for hearing real spanish and picking up idioms that are current and fun to use. I cannot recomment these podcasts highly enough... simply brilliant

This podcast is good. However, it could be even better if the transcript of each episode is provided as well. I have seen some Italian language learning podcast is doing this already. It includes not only transcript, but also like crosswords, exercises with answers, etc.

I am going to recommend this to my A level Spanish students. I haven't seen the transcript and worksheets, but if they are tailored to the sort of thing we do in the course, this could be an outstanding source of extra material which is so hard to get. EXCELLENT!

Si necesitais alguna ayuda, dejarme saber. Lo unico es que no todos los chavales tienen un iPod, pero de resto, genial! Os agradezco este material de escuchar para los chicos de A-level.
