Hands down one of the best podcasts out there.

Justin is knowledgeable and passionate about baseball and this comes through when he is talking to his guests. Having said this one of the best aspects of the podcast is that he also lets the guests have their voice. He doesn’t talk over them or try and takeover with his own knowledge or opinion. He allows them to come on to the show and present their book and also interestingly the events that led to them writing it.

I have discovered so many books that I have read and also want to read as a result of the show. I have also gained an understanding of why the author wrote the book in a particular way or how they were trying to tell the story.

Not found one yet which was not really interesting. Only one author per podcast and at least 30 minutes; so plenty of time to get into, and around, the subject. The subjects are so varied and cover history, society, and drift off into all sorts of directions. No sense of working to a script or getting in as many plugs for a new book, just chat between 2 people obviously wrapped up in and on top of their subject.

Having being assured that I’d love these podcasts I was not disappointed. A great listen and a real insight into the rich history of a sport that once baffled me but is now a favourite. Keep them coming.

A really fascinating well put together podcast for a British baseball fan wanting to get more acquainted with the history of the game. There is a nice range of diverse books reviewed. My amazon wish list of baseball books has grown considerably since I subscribed to this podcast. Keep up the great work!

Thanks to Justin and his team for their steady and persistent work, it’s great to hear about the books and from the authors. Justin asks insightful questions and helps bring out the creation process of the books, and the authors are given the space to explain things clearly. Highly recommended.

Living in the UK I have found it very helpful listening to Justin for recommendations to read, my wishlist has grown since listening to the podcast
