Laura does it again spending ages on a top government adviser taking his family to a place of safety when she spent less time talking about the Prime minister’s near death experience. Shocking bias again and no ability to comment on her COVID confidential show boating. Dreadful point scoring she cannot resist when ever handed a microphone. It’s nauseating sufficient to get me motivated to comment. Then their is Adam taking time and effort to detract from a government minister highlighting the success of the uk getting America to remove trade restrictions on whiskey or whatever after a protracted period of negotiations only to trash her the next day claiming the same deal was given to the European the very next day. How about it was the uk opened the door enabling the eu to walk through it. Trashing derogatory snide comments I’m afraid and with no right of reply. The BBC in the 21st century had become home to cheap point scoring and cat calling rather than REPORTING. Instead journalists want to make the headlines and grandstand without even allowing invited guests to make their points. Sad, sad, sad state of affair is but the socialist proclivities of this cohort of journalists are undermining faith and confidence in BBC impartiality yet again. Richard Salter

I have been listening to this podcast for at least two years. Both in the Uk and when I live in the USA. I enjoyed brexitcast too.

Adam is just perfect. His voice is friendly and warm and he can be very funny. I like Laura too she knows her stuff and I think she enjoys being on as light relief from her regular job. I recommend this podcast. It will be the first thing you listen to each day.

I have been meaning to write a rave review for ages, and at last got round to it. I just lIvE this podcast - a perfect balance between news, current affairs background and with a touch of humour and contributors personal thoughts. This is a must. I listen every day a new one hits the feed. And by the way I like the other …casts as well.

Credible news program but ruined with obsessive climate disaster narrative. Very much left of centre bbc host. I enjoy the majority of the episodes esp Laura K analysis but some are awful. Considering unfollowing.

Great to hear all views given enough space; some to convince, others to dig their own hole before jumping in.. I’m so glad programmes like this exist.

Great to hear Nick Wallis on the shocking PO scandal. His series on this was excellent. The BBC has had a great podcast reported on the Grenfell Tower Inquiry ever since it began. Are there any plans for a weekly podcast reporting on the Post Office Scandal Inquiry? I hope so as this story deserves a regular airing.

Started listening to the Casters in the attempt to understand the Brexit shenanigans better. Enjoyed finding out much more than we hear on the news and have stayed with them through various guises. Learnt so much and carry on learning. A bit sixth form party at times, but generally a great top up to other means of gathering information.

News that leaves you feeling good because you like the reporters so much because they’re awesome. Warning! Very addictive.

Normally love this podcast but getting fed up all the Boris bashing.

Love it . Brings me up to speed in an entertaining fashion on the little details and minutiae I might not have absorbed from the headlines during the day . Love the casual style and character of the presenter . Dare I say , makes news fun ! 😁

Have listened from the start and think it’s gone a little downhill since it became daily however still worth catching however please try and get the episodes out earlier in the day, I end up listening the following day when a lot of the news is old

Lighthearted yet highly informative. Best news podcast by far (well, ties for first place with Americacast). No adverts!

Love Newscast, very informative, never doom and gloom. The Christmas party episode was disappointing, if I wanted to listen to a load of insignificant celebrities I would listen to another podcast.

I listen every day to this podcast. It’s insightful and well presented. I find the news to be hard going some days so have switched to just listening to this. Love Adam’s calming voice.

I honestly love this podcast and would listen to it for hours on end. Adam is a gifted presenter and Laura is absolutely brilliant. They are both talented and great at asking the right questions and expanding on various topics relevant to current news.

The program is entertaining and light hearted even though the news is often grim. The quizzes and people interviewed help a great deal. Thank you and keep up the good work.

Used to really like this in its Brexitcast days, but am rapidly going off it due to the anti-conservative bias, predominately by Laura Kuenssberg. Hold any government to account by all means, but the one-sided reporting and interviewing is becoming embarrassing. Shame on you BBC.

I listen daily and feel that I’m much more informed about the news. Thankyou! I’m completely at a loss though as to why we’ve just had to listen to several minutes about Friends, which has always made me cringe! This belongs elsewhere, I would suggest…

No we are not satisfied. My cat’s vaccine has been kicked into the New Year grass. I want my cat vaccined ASAP. I’ve never had such a delay before. Not acceptable.

I can’t believe I had never heard this podcast. Really great news selection which has become part of my morning routine. Love the presenters. Im trying to move away from reading my phone for news in morning and this is the perfect way for me to get interesting thought provoking updates while walking my dog and sometimes laughing out loud as well too :)

This is the best news experience! I’ll often put a couple of newscast episodes in a queue for a long car journey.

Didn’t realise how much I’d missed my daily fix ofAdam till he returned from his holiday. Everyone needs an Adam in their lives, and I agree with Katya Adler that he is the king of podcasting.

I really enjoyed listening to Newscast (as well as it’s predecessors) during my daily exercise as it was during Lockdown one, and then ever since. Adam’s presentation is great, striking the right balance between entertaining and informing, and it is nice to be able to delve deeper into some of the current stories and issues making the news. Keep up the great work!

I’ve liked this podcast in the past, it’s been good to catch up with bits I might’ve missed or only read headlines in passing but just catching up with it after a break and ‘Strictly Starmer’ is so very obviously NOT impartial and I’m giving it up. Propaganda is not my forte.

There are people living on the island of Britain listening to this not English. I realise now this is a podcast for England so I’ll stop subscribing.

I generally like this podcast. I find it entertaining and enjoy the banter/accessible news.

But I literally gnash my teeth at how the team don’t hold the government to account on brexit.

For example the Nissan deal! No mention of how the government had to give Nisan a bung to get them to build in UK. They can’t do this for everyone. Also what about the city of London?? There’s no deal (Rishi Sunak announced this in his Mansion House speech the morning of the podcast 1st July) and UK will lose much financial services business as a result. The city of London is a HUGE contributor to GDP. 20%. NO MENTION of this devastating loss. Which can’t be compensated for by one Nissan deal. The inference on this pod (and much of BBC coverage) that everyone made a mistake about Brexit and it’s going well 🤷‍♀️😤

I used to listen to Brexit cast which came out on a Thursday and it was great. Really interesting, with some humour, but decent news and I really liked the presenters. Newscast for me just feels like too much. Too many episodes where they are seem to be struggling for things to talk about and I miss the full line-up of Brexit cast presenters. Adam himself is a good presenter though, very likeable and I’d certainly give it ago to see if it is your cup of tea.

After listening to the Brexicast reunion my mind was cast back to when, three years ago, I started listening. It was still as enjoyable but I’m left thinking that the Brexit vote happened as i joined secondary school and finished after my GCSES. Seems a futile hope to have that it won’t be talked about when i go to uni. I’m sure you all feel far older but this makes me fully aware of time passing. Do still love the podcast though

Jane Garvey’s version of Newscast seemed way shorter than usual! She is such a brilliant presenter. Adam is SO professional too, I’m happy with either. Reliable, warm, human both. Broadcasting at it’s quintessential best.

Shame you have chosen two of the most disliked females of today to comment. Doubt it’s going down well.

Decent but any chance of pods coming out a bit earlier? Too late to listen at the end of the day but often by the next morning the story is out of date. Seems a strange time to publish them. Either out at say 6pm to do the day’s news or, recorded the day before, like the Guardian’s.

Really enjoy the Newscasts and especially when the hosts let their guard down a little and show they’re human!

It’s part of my morning routine to catch up whilst walking the pup but could I ask that Danny Dyers sweary “no-one’s got a ….” is dropped now.

Love you guys but the episode on the Brexit anniversary didn’t do nearly a good enough job in looking at the failings of the deal Boris negotiated.

I’ve got a letter today from government offering me £2k of funding to help me deal with the additional paperwork. The same letter openly acknowledges there is no such thing as tariff free trade for any product that is not 100% of origin in the UK or Europe - which probably applies to 90% of all products being produced?

In our case, we make shorts manufactured in Portugal but with fabric from Taiwan and buttons and zips from Brazil and Asia. So we are screwed. I think you should have talked about these genuine failings in the deal and the impact they are going to have on businesses like ours. The implication I took from the episode was that everything was basically going to be ok and that is not the case.

And please don’t even get me started on Northern Ireland....

I agree with Sima's mum; with a bit of practice she could be as good as Adam! Seriously, this was an excellent episode, warmly and sensitively presented. And I am off to find those recipes.

I find they are very anti government but I listen for the experts etc and you just have to keep in mind that they will never quite give you facts unless they make the government look bad. They never question lefty contributors lies but then tear into to anyone even slightly centre right.

A beautiful episode that really brings to life the experience of us all over the last year. So moving to look back at the weeks and months before our lives changed forever.

I have been an enthusiastic listener since the times of “Brexicast”, but in these last months I have noticed that the quality has slightly - and inevitably - worsened. Not so interesting news and a slightly mocking tone about Europe - yes, I am an European living here in UK. And the bottom has been reached with Monday’s show. First, a patronising tone towards their European colleague, who suggested that a discussion between UK and Europe about the vaccines would be the best solution to try and solve the difference. Finally, a quarter of the show devoted to the Justice League movie - seriously? Some slight mistakes - Snyder’s main reason to leave was his kid’s suicide - but especially a lost chance to talk about the two main reason to talk about that movie: Warner’s policy to use his tv channels for their new movies, and the controversy about Whedon and the alleged accusations of mistreatment and racism during the film and his previous productions. Subject too “hot” to be dealt in a news podcast?
