A life with less pain is possible
A huge thanks to the developers and producers of these podcasts and the scientists and doctors/physiotherapists behind the research and practice of easing chronic pain and fatigue.
After more than 25 years of pretty constant pain, this podcast, access to other information and the curable app have given me much relief and lessened my pain.
I believe that, despite the origins of your pain, this podcast, and the information presented within it, could help alleviate your symptoms. Just knowing that I was not alone in my struggle against unrelenting pain helped. Just knowing that others people were succeeding in reducing the severity and frequency of their pain has helped me, but more than anything, I am grateful for coming upon this podcast quite by accident.
I had heard a little bit in a very roundabout way about the mind-body connection when it came to pain. First, my therapist--I was becoming unraveled by the emotional and physical pain and anguish that I was in--told me that "the body keeps the score," and I began to research that. Then, I received information from physical therapists from a website called retrainpain.org, so when I was searching the AppStore for meditation apps, after scrolling through pages and pages, I came up with Curable, which brought me to the Like Mind, Like Body, podcast.
It has transformed my life. I am able to play with my kids. I am able to work. I am able to have fun with my wife, and I enjoy being alive. I have gotten to understand the way that my body produces pain so that I can navigate my way around that pain.
I have listened to most of these episodes many times, and I have learned how varied the field of the mind-body connection is, but it all comes down to one thing... standing back, taking a deep breath and going for it--really, really going for it--but also knowing when to ease off. It has been a bit of a challenge for me getting the balance right between knowing my pain and becoming absorbed in it, but I've come out the other side, and I hope that you will, too.
I believe that this technology and the science that confirms it is due to getting me back to and enjoying work, and that, even though I've had recurrences of pain, I am now able to manage that pain and return to productivity. At one point, I found it hard to imagine that I would ever escape the constant and enduring pain that I suffered from for so long. I am sure that others will find this podcast and the curable app useful so I hope that you try it, in the chance that it could help you, too.
