How are the things we're talking about being talked about somewhere else in the world? Gregory Warner tells stories that follow familiar conversations into unfamiliar territory. At a time when the world seems small but it's as hard as ever to escape our echo chambers, Rough Translation takes you places.
A friend shared Austenistan and I have started listening to both seasons. Please bring this brilliant show back - just what we need in today’s world.

Just incredible
This podcast is my favourite one out there (and I have heard A LOT). Always finding an alternate few point with stories around the world that always have candour, heart and a fascinated (unexpected) narrative.
I have cried listening to the last 3 - because of how human and beautiful they are. I LOVE IT. You will too!

Top favourite of mine
Awesome stories, which really speak to me as a person who grew up travelling the world with my parents and now studies abroad too. After hearing a few episodes from the first series this quickly became my favourite podcast and I couldn’t wait for the second series!! I’ve heard the first episode of S2 now and it’s as amazing as I expected, really great work

The best storytelling happening now
I've been recommending this podcast everywhere I go and to everyone I meet. It's beautiful, rigorous, sometimes strange and always surprising. You will find the stories and ideas stay with you long after an episode finishes. I've listened to most episodes more than once - they can bear it.

Outstanding
Well-crafted, incredibly well-researched and bold in its approach. I'm not usually one to binge-listen to podcasts, but after the first episode about Brazil had me hooked I listened to all 7 in one day. Please do a second season!

Excellent
In the vein of Radiolab, This American Life and such. Mind-opening. Listened to it all very quickly, now want more.

Really thoughtful and well reported
Thoughtful, well reported and beautifully produced stories from around the world. Although the show is still essentially American reporters who are likely outsiders to the communities they're reporting on, they seem to have a good awareness of that and cultural sensitivity. They often work with local people and reporters to look beyond the American perspective. A really excellent podcast!

Excellent journalism, fascinating perspective
Fascinating perspectives on topical issues in a completely different context. Brilliant idea.

Humane and enlightening
One of the best podcast series I've heard - exploring cross-cultural stories and experiences in a respectful, thoughtful and often humorous way that tells us as much about ourselves as about other people.
2017-09-26
Special, funny, clever
Fantastic podcast that helps you imagine others more complexly and shares stories you would never hear anywhere else.

Fantastic!
This show brings new life to issues that need it. Some of the best journalism I've heard in years. Seriously great, they don't shy away from tough conversations and approach them with all the nuance they require.

Really enjoyable and interesting with NPR quality
Listened since the beginning and was just happy to have another interesting and high quality podcast available, however the latest episode about the Surrogate mother was superb and I look forward to more episodes of this caliber in the future.

Nothing lost in the Rough Translation
The opening four podcasts bode well for this to be a long running series of interesting but most importantly touching stories that cross cultural divides. Each one teleports you out of the echo chamber and deep into foreign lands to hear the humanity that binds us. Each podcast will challenge your opinion of the themes discussed; raise your hackles and draw your tears. You’ll need an extra hanky for the episode on surrogacy.

Excited for more
Very enjoyable and interesting first episode. I look forward to more well produced and edited stories!

Engaging and Enlightening
I 'tuned-in' to the inaugural episode from the tip at the end of Planet Money, and I was certainly not disappointed. Rough Translation is clearly not afraid to tackle difficult globally-relevant human issues affecting the lives of real people. This episode draws on the societal struggle between inherent prejudices and positive discrimination and follows the story of citizens and legislators humbly navigating this maze. I have subsequently subscribed and look forward to further captivating and informative episodes, as this great new series unfolds.

Loved the first episode
I really enjoyed this first episode, having family that live in Brazil and visiting often it's so fascinating to listen to the first episode and draw parallels to world wide discussions on race. The podcast is well produced and edited. Really looking forward to the next episodes.
