In 1973 Hell came home and invaded the body of a young girl. This is the story of a movie and its makers. It's a tale of dark and light, of loss and love. A story of faith and fury, of causes and curses, of horrors real and imagined, of unbridled ego and brute force filmmaking. It's the movie critics called "religious pornography" and "occultist claptrap." The movie that left audiences...hysterical. Decades later, it remains perhaps the most frightening movie we will ever see. From Wondery, this is a seven-part deep dive inspired by the story behind an unforgettable, classic movie. This is...Inside The Exorcist.
Perfectly crafted with a great story structure and incredible sound design. This is immersive podcast storytelling at its best.

Fantastically well told
Loved this show - brilliant production values, research and writing. In fact, the quality of the production is probably the highest I’ve heard in a podcast.
Highly recommended for anyone with even a passing interest in The Exorcist.

Worth a listen
Picked this up for the second time and glad I did. Well produced, informative, and interesting. About to finish S1, which I have binged in a day.

Love this style
I was a big fan of Inside Psycho, and I’ve really enjoyed this series too. I very much enjoy the very understated dramatised style. Can’t wait to see what’s next!

Loved it!!
This is the first documentary podcast I’ve heard and I loved it!! Great production and narration. A series on other classic films would be most welcome!!

Lose the cheap scare
I really did enjoy this podcast up until the very end of the last episode.
I enjoyed how the narrative jumped from place to place and between timelines. I also understand there was some creative liberty being taken but in the end to me a great telling of quite an intriguing story was ruined all for a really cheap twist.
Shame

Absolutely fantastic, would love this to be made into a docu-style film at some point (crosses fingers).
