Same long winded advert plays every three minutes, literally, on some episodes which is infuriating. Yes ads are fine but I heard that same one three times within the first 8 mins of episode 6. Awful.

Very informative and a nice fresh take on ghe heavens gate cult

Very detailed overview of the sad tragedy. RIP to all the members of Heavens Gate that died. It’s a shame so many people lost their lives, cults are a dangerous thing, I hope in the future less and less people will be manipulated by such empty promises of nirvana. The podcast however has a very good host, and is great! Very informative, I’m pretty sure he covered all parts of the mystery that is Heavens Gate...

Having seen several documentaries about Heavens Gate I was hoping to discover some new details and perspectives. This podcast certainly delivers, the makers have excelled I have found it fascinating and at times very sad . Just to say I think the host has struck a very appropriate tone he is not overly judgmental. Great job by everyone involved thanks

Well researched, balanced and not ghoulish. The narrator, Washington, is excellent. He has the emotional intelligence and empathy to help listeners understand events, rather than gawk at the ‘crazy cult’ people.

Ultimately a very poignant documentary.

This podcast tells an unbelievable story in a wonderfully human way. Following the lives of these cult members and talking with the families is nothing but respectful and fascinating. I could never just listen to the one episode. This is a brilliantly produce series.

Wonderfully sensitive take on this story of a suicide cult. The interviews are done sensitively and the personal note of the reporters experience adds depth. Very compelling.

This podcast has had me engrossed for months, it doesn’t condescend the memory of the people who applewight is responsible for the deaths of. Brilliant and very interesting.

I have long been fascinated by Heaven’s Gate. I was 15 years old watching the news of the mass suicide from my home in England. There was something about the whole story which gripped me back then and I guess has never left me.

When I heard about this podcast I had to check it out. I’m so happy that at last there is a well researched, balanced and engaging telling of the story available. Glynn Washington has presented a truly unique story masterfully and the whole production team and everyone else involved deserve 5* reviews for sure! I don’t give 5* very often, I think only a couple before, for Serial and S-Town.

I thought I knew a lot about HG before hearing this podcast but now I feel I’ve discovered so much more.

I usually hate to leave reviews but felt compelled to as this is by far, one of my favourite podcasts and it deserves to be credited as such. It is brilliantly structured, with a sensitive but thorough approach and deals well with those who must have been so abhorrently affected. Glynn Washington also has one of those truly engaging voices.

Really beautifully produced podcast, telling the story of Heaven's Gate in a really sensitive way. Great storytelling, awesome host, definitely one to subscribe to.

I love pretty much everything Glyn Washington produces, he’s an amazing story teller (if you haven’t listened to Snap Judgement that should be your next download). The pace of this podcast is great and I love the depth it goes into. Glyn also does a good job at not being judgmental and letting the story unfold. Can’t wait for more episodes.
