Jane Garvey is excellent

This programme is so much better with Jane Garvey presenting! So nice to have a break from Paddy O’Connell’s sense of humour, which is generally outdated and spiteful. I like to tune in for a Sunday analysis of the day’s news but have started to dread his jokes - cheap laughs at someone else’s expense (normally a woman). By contrast Jane is sophisticated, clever and naturally witty. I hope they replace Paddy with Jane, or at least tell him to stop trying to be funny and stick to the news.

It’s Mon 20 Jan nearly 3pm...still no podcast from Sun 19. I love this program, will have to listen on Sounds .... is that reason for being late? You want us to go to Sounds. I dislike Sounds intensely too much chat about things I have no interest in
Today is Sunday 29 March ...22.49hrs STILL UNABLE to listen to Paddy @BH FOR GOODNESSES SAKE SORT IT OUT.
The Archers Omnibus managed to go to podcast straight after show .... what is the problem with BH?

Terrific programme, brilliant presenter

...but they were good. Please let us have the rest before the week is out, such a good podcast when it materialises. Thank you.

Another Beeb error with BH!

An extremely high quality podcast reviewing the past week/weekend news with both sides of the story BUT plagued by technical/human error like not posting that week’s edition or only sending out the first 7 or 8 minutes!

OH DEAR...

Please get these podcasts sorted out. They are either very late or, like yesterday's, they don't happen at all. Only 6 minutes into the programme and it cut out. Very frustrating particularly as I was driving and couldn't do anything about it.

Messed up upload again!!!!!!! - 24th Nov

What’s the point of subscribing to a news podcast if the broadcaster doesn’t make it available in a timely manner?
Come on BBC!
Tuesday pm now , still not available, I’m de-subscribing.

Some episodes are a joy. Some are truly awful. 10 minutes chopping vegetables, and trotting out contributors promoting a book, commenting like a press release.

Probably the best programme of the week

Paddy, you are a truly great presenter - impeccably professional, humble, very funny and quick-witted. They should give you a knighthood for services to R4 listeners. Love this show!

Why must we wait so long for a current affairs news programme to be made available here following broadcast - quite ridiculous. Great programme nonetheless.

Great for young and old!

Although I'm sure the listenership of radio 4 is probley not 21 I love this podcast. It is really interesting and is a great round up of all the news for the week. Whoever said licence fee isn't worth it Is mad!

Top notch

I'm a newcomer having downloaded my first BH to accompany a long run at the weekend and was very taken by the entertaining and irreverent review of current affairs. I'll now be a regular.

I always used to love the double act of Paddy O'Connell and Michelle Hussein on the business news on BBC TV and knew this boy would go far. Therefore I was somewhat irked when they both seemed to disappear into the void. Living overseas and having limited access to BBC programming, I assumed they had been banished to the farther reaches of regional television and so was most pleased when the trail warmed up once more and Paddy re-emerged, not unlike a pupae, with his wit intact. Not to mention his gilded wings.
This is a magnificent mixture of the topical and the offbeat, with an excellent selection of guests and I look forward to each new edition with an unhealthy eagerness. Well done BBC!

Topical entertainment does not make for a good podcast

I suppose it all depends what you want a podcast to do for you. As a Radio 4 anorak, I subscribe to a variety of R4 podcasts and listen to them on my walk to and from work. After a few months of dutifully downloading Broadcasting House, I tired of it as it genre is "up to the minute" live broadcasting. It rather loses its flavour on a wet Tuesday morning. As the Dragon's Den pundits would say - "I'm out". Perhaps it would go better with a post-prandial Sunday constitutional walk.

Paddy, top presenter, even better than the previous bloke who sat in the chair. Actualy, in truth they don't have chairs, the whole show is broadcast from an over size hammock, hence the name of the show. This man should have his own channel.

Keep broadcasting

If I was paying my licence fee for this alone, I would be happy. The highlight of my radio week, and if I miss it live, this is my favourite podcast.

I like this show but wish their pathetic attempts at humour would not make it to the show.
WHo told them they're funny ? Ann Widdicome perhaps because noone else seems to find theie inane attempts remotely amusing

I wish the audio quality could equal the content quality!

BH is always a pleasure, and now it's a Tuesday morning traffic jam one too ... but not without the pain of hiss, crackle and low volume. C'mon BBC, other Auntie podcasts seem to be OK?

Now broadcasts on the web without problems

Well done BH - you've now fixed your podprobs. Content, as always, spot on - just as Pasha says.

Great show - but they can't get the podcast right

I love this show - which is news as it should be: lively, informed and occasionally quirky. But too often they simply fail to get the podcast right. This Sunday's (13/5/07) consisted of 9 seconds telling you it was a BBC podcast - and that was it. Come on! it can't be beyond the wit of the Broadcasting House team to get their product on podspace. Your fans expect more than this.
