Invaluable and honest

I have listened to more than 10 episodes before writing this review. Seriously I can’t say thank you enough to those guys. The way they present information and honesty in details and feelings is just great. As a soon to be dad, this podcast helped me to discover loads of unknowns for me. Keep up the great work!

First time mum who listens

Great perspective and I really enjoy hearing about how to parent together on this wild ride.
Glad you both don’t identify with the dad media stereotypes and doing things like this podcast will massively help change them 👍

Being present at the birth... Issa given

That was great Steve, never really thought about it from my husbands point of view, but it all resonated. I especially liked the point of view from the emergency c section, never thought about the moment Dom was on his own after I’d been wheeled away. I’ve had 3 c sections, the last one being the scariest but I couldn’t have done any of them without my husband. He was my rock (although I’m sure I called him less flattering things during labour!🙄)

Honest and open

I have enjoyed several episodes of this podcast and found it very re assuring and wish I’d found this sooner. I would say, one of the dads hosting seems to be finding his way every episode, and I can relate to his experiences.
The other seems to already know it all...?
Recommended highly though

Funny and frank

I'm a woman and I haven't got kids (yet), and can find Facebook perfection a bit cloying - this is much more my scene thinking about what might come in the future. Celebrating the good bits and offering mutual support and that feeling of 'you're not the only one' over the bad bits. Utterly absorbing.

Soon to be young father

I’m 25 and my wife and I are expecting our first child in a couple months.
Found this podcast on google and I must say it’s great.
My anxiety I was feeling before about becoming a father has gone away after listening to these two men have honest discussions about fatherhood.
Loved the episode about taking your child on holiday for the first time, even with the dodgy audio.
Also I really liked the drinking episode, it made me question my own relationship with alcohol and what effect it might have on my child.
Highly recommend this podcast to all first time fathers.

Enjoyable listen with constructive help

Fascinating episode on sleeping and busting the myths about sleeping through and controlled crying. Great tips for encouraging good sleeping from babies of all ages too.

Great but please improve audio

As someone soon to be a dad I’ve found these podcasts great. Please improve production and sound quality though!

Enjoyable with faults

Love you guys and the majority of the topics. Very relatable. Would give you 5 stars if you sorted out the sound quality. Have to turn the volume right up on most and some (including most recent) I haven’t been able to hear properly at all!!

A lifeboat in the sea of paternal guilt

Really interesting, reassuring perspectives on parenthood...not just fatherhood. Great to listen to for some middle of the night sanity

Interesting perspective!

I'm not a dad (or even a mum) but having read and listened to tonnes of women in business discuss first time parenting and work life balance, it is so interesting to listen to it from the other side. I've got three friends who have just become new dads so I've made sure they listen- this stuff is important!

Really Good

Hi Guys, just started listening to your podcast and I am really enjoying it. Really good insights. I am due to become a dad of Twins in March next year. Would really love to hear an episode of the differences having twins from people that have gone through it

First Time Dad with Twins

Hey Steve and Richard,
Loving the First Time Dads podcast, I’m a relatively new Dad myself.... my wife had our twin boys 18 months ago.
I’ve been listening from the start and a lot of what you guys are covering is really resonating with me, which is awesome.... but then having twins.... some of my experiences are quite different.
Wondered if you would consider doing a special on the differences of single babies and twins/multiple babies.
Anyway, please keep up the great work. Really solid stuff.

Recommended to other new first-time dads

The first episode of this podcast went out just a fortnight before my first kid, a girl, was born. I've been listening avidly since. It's definitely the most useful thing I've shared with the others on my NCT dads WhatsApp group... Nice work, fellas.

Fantastic Find

Stumbled across this pod by accident - thought I’d give it five minutes but ended up listening to the first three episodes back-to-back! Richard and Steve approach the subject with great honesty (and humour) and I found myself nodding along empathetically throughout. There’s some great input and advice from the guests too - my work phone now stays firmly hidden away the minute I get home!

Refreshingly honest

I’m an expectant mum and it’s really interesting hearing the dad’s perspective of being a parent for the first time. Steve and Rich are refreshingly honest about their feelings and experiences. More of this please!

Great pod

Really good pod, nice to hear other dads perspectives, especially being at the same stage...8 month baby boy. There is so much out there for new mums, it’s great to have something for the dads to relate to! Cheers lads.

Only 5 minutes in and already hooked cause it is so true. So glad to know it wasn't just me experiencing this!

I could have done with this ages ago

My little one is quite big now (14) but I could have done with this back he was a baby/toddler and I was slowly going out of my mind not knowing what to do and feeling like a fifth wheel most of the time.
