I was *delighted* to find there was another episode in this fascinating story, which I’ve enjoyed from the start. And it’s brilliantly presented, which increases the pleasure of listening.

Can’t play the latest episode - it says it’s 1h 18 mins long but can only get 7 min intro to another podcast when I play it. What’s going on?

Such an amazing podcast and was so excited that it was produced as this is probably one of my favourite unsolved cases. Love the editing, the hosts, and the different investigation of multiple theories. I do think that the espionage theory is the most probable but it’s definitely very broad in terms of what could’ve happened. Would love more podcasts like this!

I stumbled across this podcast & am so glad I did. Gripping from beginning to the end - even though it’s not the end (?)
Presented superbly with fantastic new leads all the time and it really makes you think about different parts of the investigation.
Hugely recommended.

I like most listen to podcasts to either switch off or learn. This gives me neither. The notes don’t give you any information. And the podcast goes straight into the story, and therefore I have no idea what’s going on !! Lots of interviews and traveling .. why

Starts off promising but quickly fades into nothingness.
Male presenter adds absolutely nothing to the podcast other than participating in the dreadfully painful scripted dialogue that’s fit for the kids.
Episodes begin to drag out with no real new content and as they pass by you can’t shake the feeling that come the end we’re going to be none the wiser.
Wouldn’t recommend

Fascinating story with loads of unusual details, in-depth interviews and great colour from various trips around Norway and Europe. Yes it is a bit slow sometimes and yes it could have been condensed into less episodes... but each one is a cliff hanger and leaves you rushing to the next one! Think of it as the radio version of a page turner.
Those complaining by saying there aren’t enough solid break throughs are seriously missing the point: unless you know this case super well already you will find this fascinating. If you’ve never heard of it you’ll love it - no final conclusion but plenty to get you speculating and thinking.
Only criticism I agree with is that the scripted links feel clunky.

What a gripping enthralling and wonderful documentary that keeps you on the edge of your seat with its twists and turns. Thanks to the researchers and investigators for their dogged determination and the production team for the high quality presentation. Also many thanks to to the ordinary men and women who have contributed to this case too.

Absolutely gripping, disagree that episodes are too long, like the attention to detail and sometimes red herrings. The conversations sometimes feel a bit scripted but they don’t detract from a fascinating subject. Love the music and soundscape adds to the atmosphere. Series 2 please!

I could have crawled through Norway on my knees and finished before this podcast got to any kind of point about anything. The woman in question probably killed herself to get away from the sound of their voices

Interesting, but awful “dialogue”

Great subject, and although it’s a bit drawn out, it’s interesting and well worthy of a podcast.
However, whoever comes up with the scripted dialogue seriously needs to be fired. It is like the absolute worst children’s tv, or a TV shopping Chanel. It is truly cringe inducing how they pretend they don’t know the answers to their own questions in order to have a fake conversation. It also completely undermines the weight of the subject. I advise the producers to listen to any number of other amazing investigative podcasts (s-town ?) for how to tell a story without resorting to awful cliche.

This is not a documentary its entertainment. I really enjoyed listening and eagerly awaited the next episode. To all the reviewers that say it’s cheesy, yes it is a bit but that’s ok as a good listen it just adds to the presentation.
I agree it could all have been put into a couple of episodes but then it would not have been a good listen just some facts that bear no relevance to me. For me this is about the relationship between the woman, the narrators and me.
Fully recommend to listen

Not quite there yet with listening to all the available podcasts.
Read the article on the BBC News website on 26th June 2019, downloaded the 11No podcasts and listened to 8No so far.
It’s intriguing, fascination, gripping and pulls you along with every sentence and characters that they talk to from the past and present. It raises more questions than answers as the investigation moves along.
There’s a ‘Killing Eve’ mystery about this story. So I am hoping that the BBC (no doubt will in conjunction with NIK) produce a TV series, that will be a popular and as successful as ‘Killing Eve’

This could easily have been condensed into 5 episodes. Some sections were interesting but at other times it felt like they were desperately trying to make something of nothing. The dialogue was very cheesy at times resulting in it being easy to forget this is aimed at adults. This podcast was recommended and as such I was disappointed. Will not recommend to others

Very forced and cheesy dialogue covering what is a dark, interesting and serious subject. Very little actual information presented per episode with more time explaining that everything is mysterious etc. Soundtrack is also attempting to be eerie but actually just setting this up for more of a failure than it turned out to be. Shame

Title says it all.
Disappointing podcast that clearly attempts to borrow some style from American fore-runners. However, the content is repetitive, lacking factual basis and, in my opinion, poorly presented. Like listening to an answer machine making a story up.
Come on BBC, surely you can produce a decent podcast!?!

Slow to start, interesting by the end

Very slow and repetitive for the first couple of episodes, but gets going after that. Ideally an 8 episode podcast, it needed some better editing. less rain, wailing and travel noises. On occasion the script is clunky too, particularly with regard to meeting new witnesses.
With all that said, there are some great reveals and interesting clues, and I have a feeling the story is not done yet. I look forward to hearing about any developments in the case.

A fascinating story, which is really well told. Lots of interesting and atmospheric insight as well as truly jaw dropping moments. All the leads were satisfyingly explored and, as with all good investigative podcasts, some genuinely new information uncovered. We may never know the Isdal woman’s name or the exact reason for her awful tragic and lonely death but she doesn’t feel so anonymous any more. Thanks.
