Description

Set over a few flickering nights in Cleveland, Ohio, this is a story of creatures, human and otherwise, caught in the eternal pornography of the cosmos, told in the blockbuster cinematic style of Spielberg classics.

Excellent!!!

I genuinely haven’t gotten into a series so quickly in a very long time, I binged Dream Boy in a bout 3 days.
The story is all at once weird, heartbreaking and pretty damn sexy. The characters are flawed and recognisable, all fully fleshed out by a VERY talented voice cast.
The editing is also so, so slick and it has honestly got some of the best original Music created for a podcast, that I have ever listened to.
Please listen, top class entertainment for sure.

The weird energy of Nightvale, standing far too close for comfort.

In three episodes this podcast threatins to overtake Nightvale as my fav. The voice acting from Dane is pitch-perfect, and brings the uneasy, paranoied air that permiates this show to exactly the ambient tempreature of my skin so i can feel it bleeding into my from the outside.
To some extent how you react to this will be personal, and this show has a harmonic respnance with my paranoied manic depression, and the schizoaffective worldview of the friends I share with with, that even Nightvale cannot achieve. But to be neurotypical is not to be without access to this show. The story of young, damaged, self-destructive, queer people who care deeply about things outside of themselves whilst trying to insulate them from their feelings springs to mind.
Listen to this podcast. it is good!
update: so, it's finished, and I love it.
It's still really Murakami-ish, and dense and paranoied. Best listened to in headphones, pitch blackness, while you lie alone at night.
There were one or two episodes that felt a little fillery, which made it drag slightly when it when being relieased, but sitting to relisten to it all, that's not a problem.
Bring us the secodn season! :D

Highly recommended!

Captivating characters & plotline, excellent pacing, and one of the best soundtracks I’ve ever heard in a podcast (which is used expertly alongside the script to bring the podcast to a whole new level). Well worth listening to - just make sure you wear headphones if you’re around anyone with sensitive ears, it’s definitely 18+!

Intriguing and Exhasperating

This is a well produced series with wonderfully creative sound design. The voice acting is brilliant and scripts feel fresh. Early episodes establish a sense of mystery and intrigue which is captivating, however the expectations set up here are beginning to feel misleading. From ep. 3 the focus shifts from unsettling dreams, flicking lights, mysterious deaths & murderous zebras to the minutiae of Dane's relationship with a self-destructive young man. At the end of these long episodes (3 & 4), I felt frustrated with the lack of narrative progression, and find myself becoming less and less interested in the series as a whole.
