Fairly good, but ruined by constant ads

I like this podcast. I don’t like the constant, repetitive, surprisingly stupid choice of ads. Mixing a crime podcast featuring serious conversations about stuff like murders with cheerfully annoying ads for chicken McNuggets doesn’t work. It’s really, really dumb. And no, I won’t ever buy chicken McNuggets, not after this.

Obsessed with this podcast!

I listen to a lot of podcasts, documentaries and shows on true crime. I came across Nancy’s one whilst finishing a previous one and wanting to start something new. From episode 1 I was hooked. I have literally spent the last few days binging every single episode! I kid you not, I listened whilst cleaning my home, returning from the school run, evenings when the kiddos were asleep. I have not stopped. Nancy is so engaging with the way she speaks and narrates her stories. Some gruels awful and unthinkable stories. She gives the victims an opportunity to tell their stories and is so compassionate and caring whilst doing it! I have recommended this pod to everyone and I can’t rate it enough! It’s absolutely devastating listening to some of the episodes, truly soul crushing especially the ones involving children, but by listening to these stories I feel like we acknowledge and we see and give voice to those who had none. Thank you Nancy! I can’t wait for the next season.

Arcelie murder Calgary

Tragic story on the horrible death of Arcelie I hope the cowardly despicable excuse of a low life person who committed this attack is never released from prison!!!

Only on S1 E1 but know I’m going to love this. Well researched and presented, episode nit full of unnecessary chat. Well done. Definitely recommend - 5 stars from me

A New Favourite

Hooked on this podcast. The host is amazing, it’s well researched and each episode is told in way that has you invested in the story while also having empathy for the victims. Keep up the good work!!!
Wow!: the belt line rapist stuff was so sad, evil man! He’s probably in Britain now or made his way to another Northern European country. We let anyone in now, my country has changed so much and it scares me. I no longer feel safe!

What can I say!?

I agree with all the comments that have been made so far. This podcast is truly, truly fantastic. The story of the Brentwood Five made me cry. What unbelievable emotional pain for those families. The laws in Canada seem very much like the laws here in the UK where the perpetrators get more support and sympathy than the victims.
Great work Nancy, absolutely no complaints at all. Highly recommend Crime Beat to anyone else who is looking for a good listen.

Fact based with a human connection

A fascinating blend of the personal connection to these cases built around true facts. This is not a ‘read the Wikipedia page’ podcast.
