Very well written and produced. Totally gripping. It’s almost impossible to believe that the police officers involved faced no consequences for their odious, self motivated behaviour.

This has it all. A story of injustice that hooks you from the start;
clear and well written narration interspersed with moving accounts from those involved and archive audio; appropriate and excellent music. I binged it in 2 days.

Tragic, intriguing and heartbreaking

Amazing podcast. Well written and documented. First class journalism and presentation. Sadness that innocent lives were thrown into turmoil. I didn’t think this could happen within the British justice system.

Absolutely Captivating

A beautifully touching, intriguing and very painful look into one of the biggest miscarriages of justice of the last century. Excellently told and a story that needs and should never be forgotten. I listened to every episode one after the other as I could not stop listening. Not just a probe into the failing of the police but also the destruction of the people’s lives involved. Five stars!

I listened to this podcast months ago but I still think about it regularly. I’d never heard the story before and I still can’t believe it isn’t a national scandal. I really hope there is a documentary/film made about this case. The story needs to be told to as many as possible.

Sad and tragic. Great podcast. Well presented. This story made me so angry that this could happen and no-one was held to account!! Other podcasts have over bearing music and annoying presenters. Shreds is excellent.

A superb podcast; extremely well written and presented by the host with a presentation style and a voice that draws you into the story - it has obviously been very well researched. From the first episode, I was captivated - I couldn’t wait to hear the next one. It’s a sad case which leads you through a range of emotions for the victim and those accused but the suggested level of corruption within the investigation will leave you astounded.

Absolutely Amazing !

So glad this pod cast has been made. How all of those innocent people (including the ‘witnesses’ who were bullied into making statements) have spent time in jail and the corrupt officers are walking free, is beyond belief!!!!!

Such an informative and well thought out investigation, love the British style of it as opposed to the American ones where they are full of filler and dragged out (don’t get me wrong I love loads of American podcasts but sometimes they are style over substance and go one for five episodes too long!!!) This is an amazing story that most people probably don’t know about or remember!! Massive recommendation!!!

The most moving, frustrating and eye opening podcast I have ever heard. Emotionally gripping till the end.
Having just done jury service myself (and being Welsh) makes it all the more pertinent, but frankly this should be compulsory listening to everyone in the UK. Everyone should understand how justice works, or can devastatingly fail to do so.
God bless the Cardiff 5!

An intelligent, thorough and insightful record of what happened following the murder of a girl in Cardiff docks. An outrageous and appalling story of corruption, bullying and racism and oppression of the innocent by South Wales Police. Listen and learn. And weep. And salute human resilience and dignity in the face of the darkest of humanity.

An outstanding podcast.

What an excellent informative documentary. I grew up in Cardiff and I have heard parts of this case over the years. But wow, what an insight into the full case. A well written, well documented and really moving story.
I am so glad to know the full story.

I was 12 when this murder happened in Cardiff and I remember asking my dad to avoid driving past the bookmakers in Bute town because of what had happened in the flat. It was and is a murder that left an indelible mark on Cardiff and South Wales.
This podcast is brilliant. Written by someone with a clear passion for the topic and the tragic story. The staggering corruption within South Wales police, the incredible destruction of innocent people’s lives and, most important of all, the death of an innocent woman.
This podcast deserves recognition beyond Cardiff, beyond Wales, beyond the UK but globally.
If this doesn’t win a lot of awards then something is wrong.

All I can say is I am sobbing having finished episode 13. I am devastated at the lives that have been ruined, lost and stolen by so called fellow men. May Lynette and all those who’ve passed, rest in peace. May those of you wrongly convicted and never received justice take a peace of my love, compassion and empathy. May the officers never brought to justice find a way to forgive themselves and sleep at night, but karma will get you in the end, it always does. Peace and love to all. Lisa xx

Superb podcast, saddest part is I feel that there are many who feel something like this would never happen again....I am a bit more cynical when it comes to that. The greatest injustice for me is how there hasn’t been a public inquiry. If this is the greatest legal scandal in British history surely we would benefit from a public inquiry. The country learned from Hillsborough and Bloody Sunday and I firmly believe they would learn from the Cardiff 5. My final point is this, when the Birmingham 6 were fighting for their freedom you had support from members of Parliament, it’s interesting how the Cardiff 5 only ever had the love and support of their family and friends.

This is brilliant, sad , painful, frustrating and will stay we me forever I know a lot about the case I’ve read John Williams and Satish Sekar books and I remember the case from the start I also know 2 of the defendants
But this podcast really takes you to the bad place , the interviews are heartbreaking and I had to pause to compose myself several times
All the boys come across so well and dignified telling their stories, this is a must listen too story that strikes hard in the corrupt annals of South Wales Police
Well done to everyone involved
Surely this has to be brought to our tv screens ?

This is a must for anyone that grew up in Cardiff in the 70's & 80's, or if you have an interest in how this case changed police procedures and British law forever. It's extremely well written and produced, and a balanced account of the events which sound more like something off a TV drama than real life. I remember it well at the time, but learned so much more from the podcast. Absolutely gripping, so much so I'm on my second listen! Well done Ceri.

You grow up in a city, see its many changes have pride in how diverse it is. You think the playing field is equal here.
You come from a long established Cardiff family with mixed family members, have your own mixed race family.
Then you listen to this....
Mind blown.
You still love your city but you cannot have the pride in it you once had.
More than that, if we’ve got problems here then what’s the state of the rest of the country?

Mesmerising in its depth. Precise and concise without skimming detail. The sheer tragedy for all men (and mostly for Lynette) and the jaw dropping criminality of Wales biggest gang of the times. SWP.
A masterpiece upon a story that shouldn’t have taken this long to be so well told.

This is a rollercoaster of a journey through the personal pain and suffering caused by injustice heaped upon injustice as we get to hear first-hand by those affected, how wounds opened by one police force scapegoating in order to ‘get somebody’ are allowed to fester at a national level over decades by institutional corruption, incompetence and failure to be accountable. One of the few podcasts that have touched me consistently deeply during every episode.
