Hi from the UK. This podcast is fantastic. The hosts have the best voices. The research and level of detail are incredible. I love hearing the background of the person, the area and what was going on in the world at that time. The thoughtfulness and compassion to the victims in the cases comes across as so genuine.

I do enjoy the non murderous episodes as well. Currently loving the Nellie Bly series.

I love the structure of the podcast and so appreciate the something good section at the end of each episode. Your hard work is so very appreciated. I’m not able to support financially at this moment in time so thought it was time to leave a review as I’ve been listening since Jan 2025.

Really enjoy this podcast. Just discovered it recently so there is lots to binge.

I have recently discovered Fresh Hell and love, love, love the presenters, and their conversations, bringing together American, Austrian and hints of British culture together. They are quick witted, sensitive and their friendship develops sweetly with each episode, discovering more about each other.

I can’t get enough!

A perfect mix of old and recent cases along with mysteries and cold cases. It’s so refreshing to hear new cases I’ve never heard of before. I have loved every episode, such good research and storytelling. I love the conversation between hosts, definitely my favourite podcast right now. Keep up the excellent work

This is one of my favourite podcasts. Both the lovely relationship between the hosts Annie and Johanna and the interesting mix of cases from North America, Europe and elsewhere make this podcast. I also love the hosts honesty about the good and bad things in their lives. Thank you and keep up the great work.

Annie and Johanna now feel like family as I’ve listened to them from episode one. The cases are interesting and the conversation between the hosts is so lovely despite the fact that they have never met in person (I’m still cross that covid got in the way of Annie’s visit to Austria!). Just discovered this podcast through the Redhanded Facebook page. I started with the lighthouse keepers disappearances episode. Appreciating the Scotland love ( hello from Edinburgh! ) and lack of swearing! Can’t wait to listen to more. PS Oban is pronounced with emphasis on the O and ban is bin. Obin.

Annie and Johanna are brilliant hosts. They’re excellent story tellers and their voices are so easy to listen to. I love the subjects they choose which are often ones I haven’t heard of before. I also love how you are invited into their friendship. I love the tangents they travel off to and hearing about their dogs. It feels like sitting chatting with friends to listen to this podcast. This is now my favourite podcast. The presenters have lovely voices (I am very affected by voices and I need them to be nice to hear!) and also lovely accents. But the content is TIP TOP.. the subjects are ALWAYS engaging and interesting - even when I’ve thought I’m not that keen on some topic I am always really glad I listened and always find them interesting.

I love their style of presenting- their personalities are present and they both have compassionate and considerate attitudes. Intelligent and well researched- not the usual ‘angle’ on crimes I’ve heard before, space is made for the victims.

I just love them both and having listened to many crime podcasts I really appreciate what gems they are. I think they would be magnificent friends to hang out with down the pub...

Don’t hesitate to subscribe to this podcast- the quirky topics are slotted in around better known crimes and also more European cases... brilliant and somehow never depressing to me.

Having a panic today. Found this brilliant podcast and have been binging at every possible moment during my days. It has everything learning a lot + a big historical component and murder and mystery thrown in. I am on episode 78 and at some point will catch up and will have to wait weekly. These girls are the absolute best!! Discovered them during lockdown and they really helped me get through the boring day to day of being stuck in the house! I love the way they tell the stories. Most of the true crime they discuss is far different to the usual true crime podcasts and I love them because of this. Joined the FB group and everyone is amazing and so supportive. Annie and Johanna are on hand to chat and help us all. Have recommended to so many people.

I love the mix of topics not just murders and true crime. But macabre topics too, delivered by the brilliant hosts. They are funny and relatable. So glad I found this podcast.

I found this podcast a couple of years ago and was instantly hooked. I am a true crime fan, but I think what really hooked me was the hosts. I like their style of presenting and they seem so relatable that after so many years listening to them feels like listening to the podcast each week is like catching up with friends. I really enjoy the range of stories they cover and the background information they give you. I too have a chronic illness, so I can relate to this chat and being a part of this community makes me feel like I have found my people. Thank you for the entertainment!

Listening to these 2 ladies is an absolute delight. Humour, wit and highly intelligent. When you listen you feel you are sat amongst friends, they take you on journeys around the world with their stories. There are some 2 narrator podcasts that have 5 stars that I generally find quite irritating. This and the Smut podcast (with Lisa and Moe) are the two best 2 narrator podcasts out there in my opinion. Annie and Johanna are so natural, funny and their friendship comes across as genuine and comfortable and as they tell the stories and they talk you learn about the tales, about places and their personal lives. Annie is very funny and witty, Johanna whose first language is German is highly intelligent and surprises me a lot of times with her use of the English language and can also be very funny. A crime podcast very different to your all American crime podcasts..I hope this lasts a very long time. Simply beautiful

Hell with heart! I love, love, love this show. The research and work put into each show is obvious and some really stomach churning topics are covered. Bizarrely though it feels like being part of a family, catching up with what’s happening in the lives of the ladies each week. I love the catch ups during the episodes as much as the main topics. Perfect!

Fresh Hell, for me, is like catching up with old friends once a week. Annie and Johanna are great presenters with a unique warmth and charm. The case selection is brilliant with coverage of lesser known crimes committed on both sides of the pond. Love you ladies. And, Annie - it’s never TMI. You keep sharing girl; it’s one of the reasons I keep coming back.

These two clearly put a lot of effort into researching their topics. They present a lot of information and offer their own opinions while leaving the listener free to form their own views. I also love the tangents they go off on (especially Annie) with sometimes related, but always interesting stories. Definitely worth a listen, especially the Christmas edition with a story you might recognise ;)

It’s clear these women spend a lot of time on research. Love the balance of facts and banter, this is my new favourite.

Just started listening to this podcast and I’m almost binging it! The hosts are so good, I really like the American and European perspectives on the things they cover, with the hosts being from the US and Austria. It’s not all murder, they go off topic quite often, and they’re just normal women having conversations that happen to revolve around grim topics 😊. Really enjoyable, very accessible, not overly polished. Give it a try if you enjoy Murder Mile, Red Handed, True Crime Enthusiast - podcasts that don’t take themselves too seriously but still get things right.

I love this. I don't know what's the best about it...the light banter, the great research, the lovely ladies or the different cases they cover. I never heard of many of them. Nice change from the same old things we hear everywhere else
