I struggle with the stream of consciousness style podcasts that have become the norm. This show is beautifully spaced, well-written interesting and entertaining. More like a radio-drama than a podcast. Aside from the content (which is a real gem for those of us that love the occult, alchemy, belief-systems, folk tale genres) the world building, environment, characters and atmosphere is so rich and a welcome retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. I am now a big fan and really wish I could visit the Library and all its staff, members and visitors in person!

I first came across this podcast quite a while ago now (and love the extra Patreon stuff too!) and love how much care is taken into each story (true stories at that) each episode. You get a sense of the location and atmosphere. Some are more numerous than others, some more macabre, but all extremely interesting! I would recommend anyone to give this one a go - you won’t regret it!

Just listen and enjoy the historical stories told in a unique way

This podcast could offer up some interesting facts and topics but it falls down with the cringing, toe-curling, childish play acting. Drop the silliness and you may have a podcast worth listening to.

I absolutely love the format: the library, the duality of the main characters and their chemistry, the wonderfully weird ‘ad breaks’ that cleverly link to the given subject… it’s just so cleverly done! The topics are fascinating and the wicked, and sometimes saucy, humour makes for a very engaging listen. I simply can not get enough! I’d like to say a thank you the creators for putting so much work into this, as clearly a lot of passion, time and attention to detail has gone into making this series. Outstanding!

Ms Merrick, Mr Darling, dear Irma and the rest of the Midnight Library inhabitants have the most charming manner (as long as you stay in the roped off areas). The stories are wickedly morbid and well researched- A must listen for anyone who is after mystery and something that’s a bit on the darker side 🖤

This is a great podcast, dark, humourous and highly entertaining. Much like Lore but you get to visit the library and it's wonderful; employees too!

Miranda’s voice is a dream to listen to, a definitely ASMR quality to it haha, and the English butler is a delightful touch.

Fun and sinister, truly entertaining

I love the stories and the set up but most of all... I love the adverts!! I’m like...are these real and they’ve been tweaked to fit the show’s feel or just very cleverly created. “On the corner of Vincent & Price” 🤣🥰

Her voice is almost impossible to tolerate. The content is ok but she’s just got the weirdest way of speaking and for that reason, I’m out.

If one were able to visit the Addams family’s local library one might expect to meet our hostess Miranda, the mellifluously voiced custodian of the midnight library. Her silken tones delight the ear, as she imparts fascinating tales of legend & folklore with a delicious black wit. The spirit of Charles Addams wearing a smoking jacket lounges approvingly beside the library’s open fire, enjoying the atmosphere & congenial company, whilst suave rats in dinner jackets watch from the pooling shadows amongst the stacks, thrilling to the fabulous stories of dark intrigue. Forrest Burgess’s alter ego, half werewolf, is a constant guest, proving that the company at the library well deserves its reputation by the cognoscenti, as the most choice, where fun can be had by all who have the good taste to enjoy it.

Stumbled across this a while ago via their IG page. Absolutely love this so much! I love the mix of dark gothic atmosphere, humour and factual info....such a good way to tell a story. The personalities are amazing. I love listening to them on an evening before bed. They’ve become a literal staple to my evenings. It’s just a shame we can’t actually go to the library as I know it would be a haven for those of us with a thirst for knowledge of the dark and occult stories and legends 🖤

Clearly a fun storytime podcast from our Astonishing Legends team. Quality level is upto they're usual high standards and the stories are fun and creepy just the way we like them.

Let's just hope none of Miranda's and Mr Darling's guests overstay they're welcome at the Library...

This is going to be such a great podcast. I loved the first episode! Miranda’s voice is amazing as well as her style of storytelling. Can’t wait for more episodes and I hope they go into an hour long format too.

Rather liking the accent of Ms Merrick. I swear the butler is familiar sounding. I like this. You should like it too.
