Brilliant adoption adventure story
Have started listening to the 1st 5 or 6 episodes and thoroughly enjoying the story, the content, the style of this adoption journey.
Listening to it on my way to the office and back, since the beginning of the week.
Had smiles on my face many times, tears in the corner of my eyes (the water puddle story with nana), laughing out loud. Lots of emotions.
Though every adoption case is different I like the idea that this adoption story takes the angle of “we are a family” with adoption being a veil that sometimes colours the family story, sometimes does not really matter that much.
It approaches parenting an adopted child from the perspective of resilience that child had built up once he is in a stable, loving and caring household. It’s also showing that openness, building trust but also humour can help healing the wounds left deep inside those children and allow these little dudes and “dudesses” with pretty messed up starts to grow into balanced and adjusted adults.
That’s how I experience our adoption as well. So I relate very much to the story, despite being in totally different scenario.
So thanks for sharing the story with the world in this beautiful and emotional podcast. Six stars from me!
