Our family members are not always who we think. When Eleonore and Michael Richland (played by Gillian Jacobs and Josh Gad) lose their parents unexpectedly in a small plane crash, they must choose between two very different paths: honor their father’s legacy as a world-renowned cardiologist -- or risk everything for the truth. The first season of a new six episode fictional drama from Wondery, the makers of “Dirty John,” “Dr. Death,” and “Over My Dead Body.” Starring Gillian Jacobs (Community, Love), Josh Gad (Frozen, Book of Mormon), and Amy Landecker (Transparent).
The acting is good if occasionally overwrought, and the tension builds well. I thought the last episode was a bit anticlimactic, but I will listen to the next series.

Extremely thin story
Professionally produced and fairly well-acted, as you’d expect from well-known actors, but for a six part podcast this has about 15 minutes worth of story! It’s so dragged out and the little twists aren’t that compelling.

Landfill Podcast
It takes three episodes to get to the central plot of this story. The format of these series is getting depressingly familiar: drip feed the story, build tension around minor points and cliff hang the end of every episode around non-events. You could easily tell this story in a half hour scripted documentary. But then Wondery wouldn’t be able to sell as much advertising space.

Gripping
I really enjoyed this audio drama. The sound quality was fabulous and I enjoyed the story line. Looking forward to series 2!

Love this!
Absolutely love this for a drama podcast. Never really dabbled in audio dramas, so this is my first. Very engaging and intriguing. Only listened to ep 1 so far and dying to know what happens!

Great drama... intriguing
Great cast and suspence

Awful script and acting
Overly dramatic acting, poor accents and an extremely obvious script, sometimes knew what they were going to say before they did.

Good listen
Very enjoyable, an interesting story on a sadly familiar subject these days. Gillian & Josh are great and the sound design really pulls you into the story.

Brilliant!!
Really good story but now we have to wait till the summer for the 2nd series!!

Not for me
Blood ties is very well done, but you should really warn people that it’s a story about rape. I wouldn’t have listened if I had known.

My first review ever!
I LOVED THIS SO MUCH BRING ON SEASON 2

Excellent compelling drama
Hauls you right into the moment with top soundscapes and writing. Can’t put it down!!! Great pacey story, tight writing and good drama. Better than (most) tv

A great story, the sounds effects are superb, the actors believable and I just kept on listening whilst
trying to sleep - can’t be done! - looking forward to the second series.

Better than most tv shows out there these days

Blood Ties
This is a quality audio production - studio coordination is mustard and sound effects and mix downs superb. Post production guys have earned their crust for sure! Actors are believable and characters real. The story line draws one in, raises numerous questions and heightens anticipation. Brilliant! This is a must listen.
Events in episode 6 for me however were a little weak, almost an anticlimax, although the cliff hanger ending guarantees I’ll tune in for the next series due I believe in July 2020. That’s too long to wait!!!

More twists than a tornado
Superb Podcast, gripped from the onset.

BLOOD TIES
One of the best podcasts I’ve heard in a long time. The story moves along at a great pace & the episodes are just the right length. Just binged 5 episodes, eagerly awaiting the final episode. 10/10

Great story
I’m really enjoying this story, totally gripping, I can’t wait for the next episode to drop. I only wish I could shake the image of Olaf the Snowman whenever Josh Gad starts taking! 🤦♀️

So far, so gripping...that wonderful wondery feeling of losing yourself for a few hours!

Shame about the adds
Enjoyed the first episode. Grest cast and well made but feels like there were more adds than content. Ruined the immersiveness for me.

This story is intriguing from the start and becomes increasingly gripping as it progresses. The acting is fantastic and I am looking forward to concluding the story!

Brilliant so far. Josh and Gillian are fantastic and the story is intriguing. Good work from Wondery as always.

This is the Wondery I know
I love this! Only on episode one and I am really enjoying this. The latest podcasts have been very very dull and boring. It was surprising because Wondery is usually really good. This one makes me remember why I listen.
