Brilliant podcast

Really enjoy this show. Absolutely love Steve’s stories and Michaels insight.
I would ignore anyone saying that Steve interrupts too much for them. The banter is what makes the show for me. I’ll be gutted when it comes to an end.

Brilliant, going to be gutted when it finishes.

Love this podcast

Love, love this podcast. Michael and Steve are the best and always make me laugh. This week Michaels face when Steve admitted to using baby wipes was an absolute picture. Haven’t stopped laughing. Going to miss you guys.

Michael great - Steve is so prickly

Have religiously listened to this podcast - some really great episodes. However in recent weeks I have found Steve to be extremely rude. He is incredibly thin skinned, insecure and attacks Michael for being a bit more cultured and a Buddhist - it is embarrassing a grown man can act like that. 5 stars for Michael - but Steve grow up!

Schirripa - better actor than I thought

Bobby Bacala was such a likeable character.
Michael is interesting and thoughtful. You just have to sit through the voice, the bullying, and the never ending opinions of his co-presenter.
I would be honoured to be on his “list”.

Spill the tea?

No, we don’t say that in the UK, Steve. It doesn’t exist. You’re 100% wrong!

Fittingly superb

Long overdue 5* review - this is truly wonderful. The relationship and dialogue between Michael and Steve is genuine, funny and natural. Love it when they go off on a tangent, will be gutted when it's finished.

Even more crew interviews please!

Great podcast, thank you for making it. It’s always great hearing the cast interviews but I *especially* love hearing from the crew/tech side of the show. It’s so interesting hearing from people like location scouts and sound mixers, the kind of roles that aren’t talked about often but are clearly crucial to the mechanics of actually making a show happen. Their insights are fascinating. Keep up the great work and more crew please!

Possibly the funniest podcast ever

Every time I listen to these two I am always laughing my head off at their random opinions on things. I only started watching The Sopranos back in January and this podcast has been a great companion. Love it 💖

Rewatch essential!!!

Saw this podcast and decided it was time for a further rewatch. Must be 6th time.
Anyway, watch an episode listen to this.
Makes the whole thing even richer and gives insights to deepen the show even further.
Essential.

Bear with it

You’ve got to bear with this and get through the first couple of episodes. Steve then stops interrupting so much and the two interact brilliantly. I’d love to go for a drink with Michael. Man, the guy is interesting, concise, witty. It’s a great pod.

Ask Anything

Great podcast helps to relieve the series in great detail with added humour and related stories
Question
In your opinion what character that either dies/or is killed off/leaves show throughout the Sopranos - could have had the best long term role/story arc?
For me maybe the obvious one is Livia/Nancy Marchand which was obviously not a planned departure

Fantastic

Great in depth look at my favourite show. Steve and Michael bounce off one another fantastically...they are clearly great friends with a great history. Great guests and very much enjoying watching the episodes again for some behind the scenes insight. Keep it coming guys...perked me up over lockdown.

Schirripa ruins it!

Loved this podcast and still do but Steve Schirripa is absolutely ruining this. Massive ego!!
Every episode he asks the guest ‘who was your favourite character apart from me’...he hates everyone and acts as if he was the main man.
Best thing about this podcast is Michael Imperioli...he is absolutely superb. Love listening to him

Amazing!

What I find so mad is I’m 22 and I was born June 1998 when this began being filmed!! I’m only just watching the sopranos now and it’s hands down my favourite series and I am so thrilled that you guys are doing this podcast!

Fabulous podcast!

I eventually found The Sopranos during first lockdown. Took me long enough considering I’m half Sicilian! Loved the series obviously and am enjoying this brilliant podcast now as a follow up! I love the important little details that Michael mentions and the song choices throughout the show which he picks up on which I love. Steve is a funny man :) So overall it’s a great little podcast with fabulous guests, great content and well worth a listen. Love Michael’s voice too 😍Thanks guys, really helping get me through our third lockdown in the U.K. 🇬🇧 xxx

The success story of the pandemic

This has helped maintain a form of routine and structure during the pandemic. It’s a reason to look forward to Mondays and Imperioli is such an insightful and erudite analyst.
May I suggest that, in the information paragraph that is tagged into each podcast, there is a breakdown of when each section starts; so the times are specified when the interviewee begins, when the ads are and when the discussion about the episode starts, etc.
I appreciate ads are essential but, when out on a run, it would be great to know where to scroll along to for the episode analysis.
Thanks so much for doing this and I’m just sorry it will have to end!

Great... if you can tune out the hateful comments.

I love the Sopranos. For me, it is the greatest TV show in History. This podcast is a great opportunity to hear from the actors and crew members to add another layer to the whole experience. I find this all very fascinating. I love their stories, hearing their experiences and what the show meant to them.
HOWEVER, for as long as I have been listening, I have been trying to tune out how spiteful some of the remarks are that are made throughout the show. It is clear that one Mr Imperioli is uncomfortable with it and would rather talk about the excellence of the show and not destroy people’s character. Whereas Mr Schirripa just seems to hate almost everyone. Anyway, it is too much for me now and I don’t have the time to listen to such negativity. If this is reeled in, I’d listen again. Until then, I’ll pass.

Superb

These guys are great, watching the series again for about the 5th time, one a week, watch the episode and then the podcast, find out so much more about the episode, the music, the actors everthing, great insight from the pair of them, also love their stories on travel, food, sports and their other work in TV and film and Steve is great on Blue Bloods, the casts are something to look forward too every Monday, keep up the excellent work 👍

Episodes are too long now

Started off at a little more than an hour each. Now this weeks behemoth comes in at 2hrs and 43 minutes.
It’s too damn long.
Subsequently, I have unsubscribed. Nice show and all but I have other things in my life rather than this bloated mess.

Great!

Huge fan of the sopranos, and this is an addictive listen. I echo the other reviews likening it to sitting in bar with these two - love it.
It’s because of this I really don’t have a problem with Steve interrupting in the way that some others have expressed. He’s Authentic and wears his heart on his sleeve. He’s native NY... guess what, they are kid and interrupt.... who knew?! Personally interrupting is only bad if it stifles the other participant, but I think Michael can hold his own!
Keep it up fellas

Frustrating

I’m only 4 episodes in but can someone tell that Calzone with legs to stop interrupting and rushing through the scenes whilst Michael is trying to describe the meaning, background and hidden messages. Hope it improves as the series goes on.

Insightful podcast from Michael and Steve with great guests. Been rewatching the show again while I’ve been listening. Some fantastic stories from the set and essential listening if you’re a fan of the show.

Mixed

I rarely write reviews but will do so for this podcast that had so much potential. I can’t understand why anyone thought Steve would be a good co-host. He constantly interrupts Michael’s analysis and insights; even in interviews with guests, Steve interrupts their stories to turn the spotlight back on himself. There’s a basic etiquette that is lacking from Steve which often ruins or frustrates an otherwise good listening experience.

A little subjectivity needed.

I love the guys and the podcast but a little subjectivity is needed. Each episode they cover is always described as a ‘great episode’ when even the most dedicated Sopranos fan (like me) would say that some were so-so.

My first and favourite podcast

Real pleasure to listen to Michael and Steve go through each episode exploring every little detail and nuance that makes The Sopranos so great. On top of that great insight into the creation of the show from the guys who were there and other cast and crew. Top notch.

Possibly the best

Just like the show itself, this is quite possibly the best podcast of all time. Not only do you get insights from two core Sopranos characters but fantastic guests and fascinating stories from Michael and Steve. I really can’t recommend this show enough, it’s essential for Sopranos fans and if you haven’t seen the show, this is as good a reason as any to start.
