It's almost Passover, and residents of Fairneck, New Jersey can't help but wonder if the plagues of Egypt are really a thing of the past. The most recent offense? The mysterious appearance of 182 frogs in Joey Kershner's restaurant late last night. Luckily, Fairneck's best investigative journalist is on the case. Michal Rabinowitz, future Pulitzer Prize winner and current seventh grader, is not afraid to dig deep and ask the tough questions, like, why does everyone in town think Joey is so handsome when clearly he's old and gross? All she knows for sure is that someone in Fairneck is about to die, and it's up to Joey who it will be.

Description

A clever teenage journalist comically recounts the events that lead to a beloved member of her community tragically dying in a freak, plague-related accident the week before Passover.
Think Sliding Doors in a modern orthodox North Jersey community.
