Interesting podcast, interesting cases but lots and lots of Ads. I think over half of the podcast is ads

Good podcast

I’ve gone back and to on this podcast for years, right now I like where it’s heading.
Not a fan of the questions, literally half of each episode is them answering questions about unrelated issues, not about the case in the title. Kind of annoying when you think it’s a long episode and the case is only featured for half the time.

Question

Are there any cases where you disagree on someone’s innocence/guilt? You always seem very in sync with your views but maybe you don’t cover the ones you can’t agree on?
Follow up…. Why wasn’t Burke Murdoch killed?

Love them.

I follow crime weekly with Stephanie Harlowe and Derrick Levasseur, at some point Derrick mentioned the prosecutors on crime weekly and recommended them so I came over to check it out and instantly fell in love with the way Alice and Bret do this podcast.
I’ve consumed both this whole podcast (so far) and their second legal briefs podcast. I have no interest in the law, especially being in the uk not America. But boy do I get interested when these two talk about… well anything really. They’re adorable in how they compliment each other, they let you feel the humanity in these horrible cases and never forget the victims or the justice they deserve.
It’s also a little scary how they can 100% convince me of anything with their arguments. I had to stop listening to the Taylor Swift ep cause for a second there they had me questioning reality 😅🥰🥰🥰
All the love.

Dangerous liars

They are liars. They deliberately present the most biased, ludicrous story utterly devoid of fact about the murder of Hae Min Lee that I have heard since the story the Baltimore police made up about it in the first place. Hae Min Lee deserves justice and these two charlatans are trying to deny her that. I can't understand how in good conscience you can do that, while portraying yourselves as "experts".
They've proven you can't believe anything they say.
Unfollowed and I urge everyone to do the same.

Found! What a Way to End the Year!

I’ve not listened to anything else since finding this podcast last week. (Sorry to mention her but had to discover who the heck Casey Anthony is because the trailer was on TV so much).
The theme tune is awesome. And you guys’ relationship is so precious. Thank you for making Murdaugh thorough enough but manageable as I gave up with another podcast. Now onto JonBenet Ramsay who I absolutely did know about. Also shared The Lost Cosmonauts episode. Great job working with an Elementary School.
Wishing you and yours all the very best in 2024.

Insightful and Unique

Prosecutors is by far my favourite true crime podcast. Always well researched and I love the insight you guys give as attorneys. I also find your voices/accents very relaxing and easy to listen to lol Please do more Irish cases if you can, I really enjoyed your episodes on Trevor Deely

Feel betrayed!

I used to love this podcast before I realised that their information is inaccurate and biased! Have a point of view and opinion for sure; I like that. I like different points of view on cases to give me a rounded impression of them, but when you purposefully cherry pick facts that’s downright wrong and misleading to those who don’t have a case file in front of them. I don’t want lies from a podcast about true crime I can just go on Reddit for that, and I feel betrayed by the fact that I listened and was conned by their biased views being veiled as unbiased. Especially when their inaccurate info is thrown out into the world with open current cases that their misinformation could affect!! It’s not a quality a prosecutor or a true crime podcaster should have!!
Shame on you guys! U give good prosecutors a bad name. UNSUBSCRIBED!

Pointless lies

Definitely the most biased version of the the Hae Min Lee story I’ve ever heard, with facts altered, stories changed and outright lies told, all to try to fool you into believing what you thought you knew was wrong, and they know better.
There’s a basic story here you see, they can’t tell you what it is, because they don’t know themselves, otherwise they would tell you, but trust them because they’re lawyers, and they know every witness they’ve ever put on the stand… lies.
Oh, by the way, just google how many times these 2 have actually stood in a court room… you’ll be shocked

Biased and inaccurate review of cases

When I first started listening to this podcast I thought it gave an interesting perspective on cases, hearing them from the Prosecutor’s view. But after listening to some cases that have been widely covered and well researched elsewhere, I can see now that they only present the evidence that suits the prosecutor’s narrative, glossing over or even completely ignoring glaring exculpatory evidence, or evidence that points strongly towards another suspect. Please don’t take what they present as accurate information.

Excellent Analysis

The coverage of the Hey Min Lee murder was intelligent, considered and all encompassing. I agreed with Alice. I think this goes further in terms of the cultural significance. I feel he felt he had sacrificed his standing in his community, exacerbated by the sermon aimed at him and the appearance of his parents at the dance, FOR Hey. Therefore her rejection him was more than just a personal insult but impacted on his social standing and family life. He blamed her entirely and it became far bigger than ‘Don’. In order to re-establish his own identity he felt he had to take Hey’s life. It was planned, and planned as intricately as possible for a 17 year old. What a damn shame.

Favourite true crime podcast!

Hey, I think you are both awesome and love listening to you! My question is are there any law tv shows (like suits, Lincoln lawyer etc) that you think are actually accurate? I’m a paramedic and am constantly frustrated by how inaccurate medical shows are and wondered if you feel the same!
Anyway, thank you for both being great and keep being you :)

Not for criminal lovers!

Brilliant hosts and well researched case files. Blows the “wrongful conviction” criminal lovers out of the water.
This podcast is for critical thinkers. Don’t bother listening if you want your favourite murderer to get out of prison and sue the state.

So glad I found this

I’ve been looking for something new to binge and I could not believe I found this diamond. I love their chemistry and little chats. All the way from Bristol uk I very much appreciated the Mary Celeste episode and I love a mystery. I’m also a fan of common sense and analysis (as a Virgo). I’ve recommended this to a lot of my pals. Thanks so much Brett and Alice you’ve helped me through some dark and or boring days. You’re great! 💕💕💕

Excellent podcast, but I wish there were less ads/ more distinction between contact and ads

I’ve only recently started listening and I am really enjoying the podcast so far. Seemingly quite unbiased and a in-depth discussion of these cases, with an interesting perspective on how prosecutors and the defence may handle a case.
My only critique is as a non US listener, many of the ads are irrelevant (fair enough), but it would be nice to have a little music jingle between the episode and the mid roll ads so I can skip through them more easily. Most pods do this now so kind of annoying this pod doesn’t.
Minor gripe, but otherwise great pod!

If you want more, here they are.

These two champs, put a different angle on cases that is refreshing and interesting. As a person from ‘sunny England’ lots of the casts covered are from the US and lots of other podcasts sometimes assume we should know about the case - Brett and Alice don’t do that. They even say if you want a deep dive, check out these other podcasts. They are funny, intelligent and talk funny :)
Give them a go. And if you do and you don’t like them, go about your day without being a one star rating dick about it. Ta.
Here’s my question: If you were to cover an English disappearance case, what would it be and why?
Have a good one.

Selective truths from attention seekers

How can we boost our ratings? I know, by taking on a well known wrongful conviction, omitting all the important information that makes it an obvious wrongful conviction, moving times about when the entire thing is timestamped by cell phone data that never actually matched the state’s case and then shouting down or ignoring anybody that tries to discuss the actual details as nitpicking.
What a bunch of malarky.

I listen every week!

I listen to this podcast every week and find Brett and Alice’s take on true crime so interesting! I like that the podcast isn’t sensationalist and they give their opinions even when they differ from public sentiment.
Question: Have you ever realised during a trial that the defendant you are prosecuting is most likely innocent? If so, how did you handle that situation?

From strength to strength!

Loved this podcast for a while. Found a few cases a hard listen- especially the ones where I disagree with their conclusions. But the hosts always draw me back to listen more, especially in light of more sensationalist true crime “fan” podcasts. The impartiality of the Adnan Syed/Hae Min Lee coverage absolutely blew me away. What a great series!
Having recently become a parent, I want to ask if there are any cases where your views changed after you had children, and whether they’ve continued to change/evolve as they’ve grown?

Purely Belta

In the US are defendants required to appear in court for victim impact statements and sentencing? There’s been some backlash here in the UK after the baby serial killer nurse Lucy Letby refused to attend for the statements and sentencing and it appears we are now trying to change the law around this. If they are required to attend in the US do you find they behave themselves and if they do disrupt proceedings what would happen? Thanks. Barry.

Best podcast ever

Excellent podcast , the perfect combination of the case , theory and small talk, the hosts Alice and Brett are totally unbiased in their telling of the cases they cover and both being lawyers are great at explaining all the legalities around the arrests and trials.

Best True Crime Podcast

Truly the best true crime podcast out there. Alice and Brett are intelligent, funny, and lay things out in such a great way that’s easy to follow and explain a lot of legal jargon and ways of doing things so easily. They do a lot of research and always cite their sources. They may not always come to the conclusion you like (cough adnan supporters cough) but they explain their reasonings. Although I don’t think there’s ever been a time I have disagreed with their conclusion.
Joanne h186

Don’t believe the 1-stars

Their 4.3 average is only due to very deluded Adnan innocenters leaving 1-star reviews. I came in on the fence, but there’s no way you could listen to all of those episodes and call these guys biased. Their analysis was the most reasoned and objective I’ve come across. They show that there was a preponderance of evidence that lead the jury to find Adnan guilty. If he ends up being let go it will not be because he was “exonerated” but because he had a team of people (some of whom allowed their own personal biases to cloud their judgment) poring over his case and looking for any technicalities that could undermine the legal case against him. A media frenzy and cash cow for so many…people literally can longer see the wood from the trees.

Disappointing

I wanted to listen to this podcast as I have an open mind about this case but as soon as they stated that as prosecutors the majority of their witnesses lie in court- they lost all credibility. Why would they put a witness on the stand for the prosecution, knowing they are telling lies? That’s why miscarriages of justice happen. It’s all about winning not finding the truth and it’s ok to get someone to lie if you get the win. I wanted a balanced view of the evidence but it is quite clear what angle they are coming from. To read verbatim statements that supported their view and gloss over others that contradicted that view is not balanced- it is no wonder the general public do not trust law enforcement or the court system.

Blinkered

I used to enjoy this podcast, but Brett and Alice have really gone down in my estimation in their coverage of the Adnan Sued/Hae Man Lee case. It has really highlighted for me their pro-police/prosecutor stance. They seem to refuse to countenance any situation where someone might have been wrongly accused and/or convicted when statistically we know it to be a fact that people frequently are. They speak with an arrogance and superiority that I really do not like. I don’t think I am going to listen to this podcast any more.

Game changer

I’ve been listening to True Crime podcasts for a few years now and have all of my favourites very firmly locked in, with a few others floating in the peripheral. However, I was recommended this podcast about 6 months ago by Crime Weekly and it has fast become one of my fav’s. (I became a patreon after the first few episodes) I love the energy between Brett and Alice and the way they break down the cases. They have also changed my mind on a lot of cases I thought I had very firm opinions about.
If you are looking for an interesting take on your favourite cases and coverage that gets you contemplating your own opinions, then this is the show for you.
PS. Would love to see you at the UK Crimecon 🤞

Fantastic show

I found this show through big mad true crime.
I’m binging at the moment, I’m retired and listen to it while I pootle around house and garden in England. Can I just say the people who moan about, theme tune, banter about kids etc really piss me off. I listen to loads of crime podcasts and some I like and some I don’t, but if I don’t like them I don’t listen to them, I don’t ever send piddling ,whinging messages.
I love this show, I love the format, and get really involved .
Keep up the good work, love the theme tune and love to hear about your kids😀

Ineresting

** editing to add a question:
Curious if you watched the Netflix documentary on Sister Cesnik, called The Keepers. Would you ever cover a case like this? Thanks y’all :)
I really enjoy the podcast, my brother recommended it to me and I’ve now gone back to the beginning to listen to them all. So far I’ve only counted one time when Brett has pronounced the T in interesting :) If I could give Alice one piece of feedback it would be to embrace the compliments and nice words! Women need to get better at accepting compliments and not brushing them off or deflecting. They seem like genuinely lovely people and professionals. We may not have the same political beliefs but that’s okay - they still seem to have heartbeats!

So boring!

I was really looking forward to listening to this podcast - it has some very positive reviews. At first, I thought perhaps I'd just chosen some less good episodes but I hadn't! These two drone on and on sharing absolutely irrelevant info that they clearly think we all need to know - the Trevor Deely episodes are prime examples of this. The male presenter shares his cliched views about Ireland - Guinness, pubs, his favourite place to visit, we should all visit, goes on and on. Then the pair of them start explaining, irrelevant to the case, Irish history, in a very ill-informed way, patronising tone, presenting inaccurate views as facts- goes on for several minutes and has nothing to fo with the case. Really poor stuff and very self-centred presentation particularly by the male presenter. I listened to six episodes and won't listen to anymore.

An absolute staple for True Crime listeners

Alice and Brett bring the eye of a prosecutors to cases, examining and explaining evidence, what it means and what it may mean moving forward in the case, all methodically broken down. Absolutely love this podcast, Alice and Brett don’t conform to the popular opinion and will tell you what they think based upon the evidence available

Republicans? How shocking lol

I absolutely love this podcast so came to leave a review and my my, they are loved and hated by folks. A bit like Marmite in the UK.
Firstly folks….cool it, you can be both a Trump or whatever supporter AND a good person. Secondly, anyone from the UK leaving negative reviews needs to look more closely…I give you Boris Johnson.
This podcast is excellent, both Brett and Alice bring so much experience to their views and it’s an education to listen to them. I am very convinced by their views on a couple of well known cases but equally heard their very human responses to those. This shows excellent understanding of how the person may have ended up in that situation.
Obviously there are differences to UK law, one of the biggest to me being the sub-judice rules here which mean a case cannot be discussed in the media once a suspect is charged until the case has been heard in court. This does remove the issue mostly of someone getting a fair trial without a prior trial by media. It is interesting to hear the views of Brett and Alice on the impact of the media on some cases they discuss.
Well worth listening to. The coverage of the Murdaugh trial has been really good.

Positive and substantive podcast

What I like about this podcast is that these guys are positive and can bring humour to a case, without, in my opinion, being disrespectful. I have listened to other true crime podcasts and had to switch off for the trivialising of the subject. Their legal knowledge is insightful, their storytelling is masterful and their friendship strikes as genuine. Great job balancing this with your private roles and family lives.
