Talking Crime With Danny Shaw : Simon Kempton

Talking Crime With Danny Shaw : Simon Kempton

Time: 27:10
In February, Simon Kempton was given a final written warning after sending messages to police colleagues about the murder of Sarah Everard. The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) said he had passed on “gossip” and described his actions as a “serious error of judgment”.
In his first interview about the case since it ended, Sergeant Kempton, who serves with Dorset Police, tells Policing TV’s Chief Presenter, Danny Shaw, about the impact of the IOPC investigation - and sets out his concerns about the way misconduct inquiries are conducted.
As an officer with 22 years’ experience and a leading official for the Police Federation, Sgt Kempton also discusses problems with police technology, the importance of Tasers - and a long hot summer ahead for those involved in public order policing.
