Book review highjacked by uneducated left wingers

Such a shame. I listened to the Adrian Mole episodes and wanted to continue listening to these two. But the Book Thief and 1984 episodes has put me off these two nitwits.
During the book thief they made a comparison with Germany in the 1930s and the Brexit vote. Yep! They actually tried to imply there was any similarity. The shock at hearing such an uneducated, insulting and simply stupid comment left me stunned. What’s worse they continued to dig in and have that little self awareness they clearly aren’t aware that those on ‘their side’ went to mass rallies with flags, chants and vilified the opposition, with some even calling for Brexiteers to be stripped of their democratic votes. So lads, if you’re going to make an stupid comparison with 1930s Germany (which I’d strongly argue against) then perhaps you need to readjust that barometer.
Then onto the 1984 episode in which JRM is derided and called the modern Demon Headmaster (what the actual?! Grow up you pair of clowns) and then the worst… paraphrasing the “alt right” now use “Orwellian” as a stick against the left which is totally wrong. How unaware of current and very recent British politics could they be? They even make a reference to the word “thought police” and laugh it off. Apparently unaware that now extremely aggressive, extremist groups with very loud voices and huge funding (critically with no mandate from the public) are censoring peoples words and their thought process on social media sites and reading the Bible (in Christian Britain) even got one old timer arrested. Whilst grooming gangs were fine and anyone who called them out for the disgusting actions were labeled “racist” (why is it racist to want to stop children being raped?) in an attempt to silence people.
Then there’s the lefts cancel culture and culture wars, just look at how ridiculous modern, liberal Britain got swept up in the extremist BLM movement. How about people who have different political beliefs having their livelihoods destroyed or bank accounts illegally taken away from them? “No cancel culture or culture wars here, it’s all in your head”.
These two simply need to educate themselves, maybe even actually speak to normal people who aren’t in their echo chamber, probably out the Guardian and Mirror down and actually see other people’s points of views before labeling them. It would make them look less stupid for a start, it would help them stop to make insulting comments about Britain voting to be free from a supranational political system that didn’t represent it and 1930s Germany and the terrible things that regime went on to do. It would also make their statements have some conviction, especially given the amount of antisemitism within the Labour Party?!
it’s not so bad Ross
