Crackling and cackling. Women who do politics, know their stuff and are hilarious and acerbic. Essential listening.

I just listened to this for the first time and it’s addictive as it’s just like listening to a couple of old women leaning over a fence smoking fags while drinking Gin. I could easily drink their bath water although it would probably kill me. but I love them both❤️❤️ great podcast and love it

I listen to a few different podcasts and I enjoy them : Visible Women, Full Disclosure, Byline Times and others but this one is my absolute favourite.

I love listening to two intelligent women discussing the state of country with both seriousness and a light sprinkling of wit. Marina and Jemma make me smile and laugh and help me feel a little less bleak. I love the format and regular features - Looord of the Weeek, underrated tweet, and the pudding. I also love those moments when they mention tweets I have read and I can nod along pretending to be clever.

Please do listen to this. It’s like sunshine on a rainy day.

Much better than professional brown nose Piers Morgan. This is actually worth listening to.

A good mix of everything from political satire to interesting accidents with flat pack furniture, well worth a listen.

The trawl has literally become the highlight of my week, if you can listen to this without laughing out loud about the endless black hole that our politics have become, then you need to get your thinkie tankie friends to publicly fund a new sense of humour for you

A mixture of being serious & the hosts self deprecating humour makes this a must listen to podcast. They seem to know what the nation is thinking & speak openly & honestly about the current political climate in the UK.

This podcast is a light in these dark times in the UK.

This is the podcast equivalent of screaming into the void. Brilliantly entertaining, funny and totally on the nose. The hosts say out loud all the things swirling in my head and also digs out the best tweets so I don’t have to. I’ve listened to every episode and will continue to do so.

Only political podcast that makes me think and piss myself too.

Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant from start to finish and one of the few shows that make me laugh and cry simultaneously. 👍🏼

TL;DR The first few mins were such tripe, I switched off. Recommend listening to ‘Oh God, What Now’ instead.

First, in fairness I should say that I didn’t get very far with this, since after 5 mins I switched off (but then as newspaper columnists have known for years, you need to get your readers’ attention in the first 2 paras, or you have lost them; they just move on to something else).

But in those 5 minutes I felt that I was eavesdropping on a group of friends talking about themselves. For example:

One of them was to have interviewed Kier Starmer. We hear about her anticipation; her disappointment at the interview not proceeding; her feelings as Starmer comes over to shake her hand. Nothing on Starmer.

Then we move to her colleague who proceeds to recount the breakfast conversation with her family, whether raisins are pointless, being inside vs outside London in the event of nuclear war.

By this time, the 5 minute mark had been reached and nothing had been said of any interest to anyone outside their circle of immediate friends & family.

Possibly it got better later on. But first 2 paragraphs…

For an example of how to get this sort of thing right, listen to ‘Oh God, What Now’, which never fails to entertain.

Found this by accident when looking for podcasts by The Liver King. This is much better and is now my favourite, alongside The Rest Is Politics. Can’t stop laughing. And there are no ads. Hope they grow big enough to attract ads and can then launch their own television channel.

Excellent Tory bashing podcast (with style). Marred slightly by a tendency to agree uncritically sometimes with some of those pro Corbyn/Putin dinosaurs of the Hard Left. Remember those types don’t want Labour to be in power. They want Glorious Defeat with added ‘Traitors’. They always give gifts to the Tories it’s what they do

In a politically miserable and depressing world Jemma and Marina find shards of light to bring hope, smiles and even belly laughs. Seriously funny is hard to do, but these smart women pull it off brilliantly. My new must-listen to save me from amitriptyline or the gin bottle.

Absolutely amazing podcast and must listen every week both Jemma and Marina are knowledgeable and passionate about the country and the state of it currently under this Tory government. I look forward to hearing what these two amazing women have to say each episode and I am indebted to them for trawling through the absolute cesspit that is Twitter on a daily basis 👍🏻
