Description

The Idea Maze is a podcast that asks the question: where do great entrepreneurial ideas really come from? Many of us have heard the origin stories of larger-than-life successes, but by the time a company becomes a household name, these stories have been revised to sound more like legend than history. In this podcast, we will be speaking with founders who are still very much in the Idea Maze, and are willing to share the mistakes, false starts, u-turns, and reboots that led from having zero idea to where they are today.
Hosted and created by Rob Go, founding partner of NextView

A side of startups your rarely get to hear - a ‘must listen’ for founders

I’ve listened to every startup podcast out there. They are all super interesting (and not gonna lie, I’ve been waiting for another start up series to binge) but I find you tend to run into the same stories on repeat and normally the focus is the ‘messy middle’ where there’s a couple of million in funding and the team is figuring out growth.
What I haven’t had a chance to hear yet is the humble beginnings in a really meaningful, nuanced, and in-depth way. This is the pod that delivers this!
As a founder you spend 90% of your time trying to figure out if this idea has legs at all - far more ideas die here than post seed and as you’ll hear in the pod, that’s not a bad thing! Bash out all the ideas you can and then spend your time on what (might) work.
I’ve really enjoyed this - speaking about the ‘idea maze’ part of the journey is where founders can be really raw and for me, that’s where the most helpful advice comes from. It’s also advice that I think will resonate across the board regardless of your industry or business model.
Sound design is also top notch! It’s giving NY Times: The Daily, vibe. Love it.
