OK story but totally transparent and tacky attempt to recast chancer villains as art lovers.

I don’t often leave reviews but felt compelled to do so after finishing all 10 episodes of The Missing Madonna. From the story pacing to the plot twists, to the music and hosting, this is a brilliantly crafted podcast. Even the bonus episode is brilliant!

I listened to the whole thing over two days. Olivia is easy to listen to and tells it well with feeling. It’s a fascinating story and really well told. Best thing I’ve listened to in a while. Well done guys. Gutted it’s finished!

Incredible true story, brilliantly narrated by Olivia Graham. The personal angle makes it all the more compelling . Well worth your time.

Beautifully told. Warm, endearing and fascinating. A story I never knew about, a classic case of truth being stranger than fiction. Absolutely brilliant. Had intended to listen to one and ended up listening to the whole lot in one sitting. Incredibly engaging.

I enjoy this kind of storytelling with an espionage/heist feel to it and it was even more interesting because that this was a true story where the narrator was able to use her father’s papers to piece it all together. Episode 4 on Apple podcast is just a repeat of episode 3 though … so had to track it down to BBC Sounds to get the missing episode!

This is a really interesting case but I found the podcast hard to follow and eventually gave up.

The ending is brilliant, I choose to believe he did 🤩🦊

I listen to a lot of podcasts but this is the first time I have ever written a review.

I live just outside of Edinburgh so fully intend to go up and see this painting.

The story was brilliantly told by Olivia who brought the characters to life especially her Dad. And what a character he was! I won’t give anything away but when Olivia was telling the final story, I blurted out “Oh god, no, no before dissolving into fits of laughter” Long live the Silver Fox!

Listened on the BBC. Just brilliant from start to finish. Haven’t enjoyed a podcast as much since ‘Making a Murderer’. It’s that good. I cried my heart out at the last one though, so be warned! Robbie Graham, the silver fox shines through. I won’t give anything away, but I do hope it is written in pencil. Ps if you’re not keen on a Liverpool accent, stick with her, you’ll get used to her and it will be worth it. I really recommend this.

Really draws you in

Unbelievable story, very captivating from the start, couldn’t stop listening once I’d started, had me gripped from the beginning, a must listen for all scousers and anyone who loves true crime, one story you deffo will not have heard!

I have vague memories of the theft of a Da Vinci from a Scottish castle, and this is a really accessible account of how it was stolen and recovered. Narrated with real feeling and a degree of wonder by Olivia, daughter of the chief finder, and packed full of anecdotes. We were hooked til the end.

Omg, talk about dragging it out. It should’ve been made over half the amount of episodes, what a shame

Good narration (for the most part).

The story is unique and interesting.

Stretching it out to last for so many episodes felt unnecessary. They were clearly trying to ‘pad’ the listening hours.

The show could easily be halved in talk time!

Excellent series.

Really surprised some people complaining about the presenter’s “extreme accent”. This is just how people talk in one of Britain’s biggest cities. It’s not in the slightest bit extreme. Complainers simply displaying their ignorance.

Best podcast I’ve listened to, so authentic & raw. Olivia has a bright future ahead, she’s a natural, so relatable. I would actually like to be her best friend because she sounds a ball!

Great story. Can’t stand the cack handed journalism and Liverpool accents though. First episode, some associate of the presenter said “ like” six times in two sentences. I am all for regional accents, I’m a

Geordie myself, but these lack any serious gravitas .Can’t believe the Buccleuch estates sanctioned this.

With such an extreme accent and a tendency to insert random made up words the narration was a mess. I wish she had been a character in it as she just doesn’t have any objectivity. Understandable but not good enough for a BBC product. A more nuanced take on who did what would have been more engaging.

Incredible story, beautifully put together by Olivia. One of the best podcasts I’ve ever listened to, all the better for having that personal aspect to it. I’m sure Robbie would be so proud of his daughter for telling his story.
