Mikey and Sean are here again, again!

This is the third installment in our series of reading through and discussing The Accursed Share!

Georges Bataille was a weird little French guy writing weird fiction, erotic poetry, and doing all types of ill s**t. Then, he witnessed the world wars, the rise of Fascism, and the Total Mechanization of Earth and those who call it home; so, he set out to do something about it. That something? Write a book about "political economy" that forces a Copernican shift and brings the man out from behind the curtain - that "man" being the deep structure we know as Capital, and that curtain the prevailing Ideology, or Narrative, that leads us all to believe that we are in fact the ones calling the shots.

Bataille is essential for understanding Modernity, both for grappling with this otherworldly monster that intends to use up all our resources and convert us all into computronium; and for developing a ubiquitous "recognition" that we are all, in fact, Humans (whatever that means), and that we must give up this false belief in Capitalism and start managing our General Resources in a Social fashion, lest we blow ourselves up and leave the dolphins and octopuses to inherit our ruins.
