The host is, as always, excellent. However, the guests can be a little variable, which can distract a little from the historical content. The occasional podcast extra makes for entertaining listening - like being a fly on the wall in the studio after recording.

This is an excellent thirty minute snapshot. A wonderful summary that almost always inclines one to research more into the subject.
Matthew Parris is a first rate presenter, bringing humour and a relaxed air to the programme, enabling the listener to sit back and enjoy learning something new of even the most familiar subjects.
