Update May 2021.... listened to start of new series with fingers crossed that would get back to the original high standard. I quite liked Andy Zaltzman but the other panel guests were just what one is now expecting from the BBC. Quiet sad!

Last of series apparently. Thanks god! Very poor. What’s happened? Used to love , but Could not even listen to Hugh Dennis. He used to be funny, even with his mannerisms Not, for me , any more. He even sounds miserable.

Update feb 2021:- dipped in for nostalgia reasons and is worse than I remember. Just soooo predictably. No way should have To pay, by law, for this rubbish

Used to love bbc comedy and have done for since I was very young! However, now it all seems to be very samo and bland.

Now I’m starting to continually listen to their old comedy. I’m actively looking for their old material; dads army/Charles Paris etc. Their current stuff; I find very bland. Even the program I used to love such as news quiz, have I got news etc seems to be all just a white noise of same the font!

Hilarious. Listen over and over, so much content and well writing my 11 year old also loves it!

Gave up and unsubscribed having pushed through a year or so of change in tone and atmosphere. Shame, I’m comfortable with different political views but the jokes wore thin with endless repetition. Dead Ringers still worth finding when it’s on though.

I’ve been a fan for years and the new Andy Zaltzman series has not disappointed!

I love Dead Ringers, though I used to like the Now Show but it has gone down the drain where the News Quiz already is. And that summer comedy stuff was trash.

Love a current affairs comedy podcast, hits the nail every time!

Excellent current affairs satire, always worth listening to, it’s what I pay my license fee for.

1 star for The Now Show (needs to stop), 3 for The News Quiz (needs to be rescued) and 5 for Dead Ringers (needs to avoid the fate of the other two). Average of 3.

It has gone downhill recently.

Noticeable decline in recent episodes. Seems in the quest for balance there’s a lot more right wing “comedians” and their single war on woke joke is getting stale.

You notice other negative reviews with the opposing opinion, that there’s too many lefty woke comedians, too many “foreigners” and not enough balance. Not sure if these are satire or not but shouldn’t be taken seriously.

Whatever has happened to comedy at the BBC? It seems that everything is ascribed to racist behaviour by a bunch of comedians no one has ever heard of. Time was when programmes like The News Quiz and The Now Show were rightly held up as funny. Not any more. I intend to unsubscribe ASAP.

Not really very funny, and I’m covering both the News Quiz and the Now Show in that. There is comedy talent out there so cannot work out why the BBC insist on finding these awful guests. Defo some quota filling going on. Recently the Now Show has gone through a raft of tries awful guest “comedians” from India for some strange e reason.

Love the now show, but really don’t like the other stuff :)

Used to be a great comedy show with Miles at the helm, and yes..you would laugh, because it was great comedy. Sadly now it is not.

With all the decades of comedy in the BBC back catalogue and with today’s comedians screaming for employment is this really the best you can do? Give me the budget and let’s find some laughter, great talent and some positivity in these trying times.

Except for people who like the government. Or the opposition. Or Scottish nationalists. Or Scottish unionists. Or...

This used to be my favourite podcast. However over the last year and half it is has deteriorated drastically. It’s only saving grace is the occasional episode for Dead Ringer or The Now Show. The New Quiz has had 3 seasons of tripe, I have no idea what on earth they thought those Virtual Festival episodes were over the summer other than awful.

I have been listening to this show for years and always enjoyed the format, the variety of guests and the weekly review of (mainly)British political shinannigans. Andy Z has really lifted the level of play- the best host so far! I listen to each episode a number of times, first time for inspiration and second or third as an antidote to lockdown madness. Keep up the good work!

Andy Zaltzman is a comic host genius but why do many of his guests treat the program like ‘Any Questions’? I can listen to that later. Please, more laughs and less political point scoring bbc.

I have listened to BBC radio comedy since I first heard “ I’m sorry, I’ll read that again “ when I was 12. No more though. Friday night comedy is boring and extremely unfunny to anyone outside of metropolitan wokeness. Enjoying Round the Horne again on Four Extra though!

The BBC has always been supportive of good quality political satire- so it’s very sad to see how the News Quiz has descended into the quagmire it’s in. Tick -box quota “comedians” fed questions that encourage them to unleash bile and hatred against all things British / English while the woke audience laugh because they have to now - do we really need such negativity in these times?

As a student nurse that gave up a weeks food to elect Corbin as leader, I find this leftist woke tripe gag-worthy, which ironically it isn’t. BBC please choke to death on your own licensing revenue

These shows really should be separated out - as many others have said, the now show and dead ringers have always been utterly dreadful. However, the news quiz under Sandy and Miles was a 10 out of 5 - real must listen and highlight of the week! But no host since has lived up to those days :( it’s now a “if I’m bored on a train” podcast

The new ‘real News Quiz’ lacks the humour and the simple pleasure of the old days. Where are the sourced cuttings, where the cutting satire. Now we have long flights of disappointing whimsy. Sandy, Miles what did you leave us with?

Talking as a Scottish person from Scotland how about you mock Nicola and the SNP, Like all the rest?! You always seem to give them a free pass or even praise. Your political bias in general outshines your comedic affect way too much.
