Heavy on adverts, light on advice

Disappointed with the amount of ads followed by a few sound bites of lightweight advice...

Great podcast!

I've been looking for a self help podcast that isn't monotone and gives actual advice on how to deal with everyday issues. This is a great one. Keep it up!

Excellent tips delivered efficiently

Love this podcast. You can use prev episodes like a library. I thought he was joking about the zombie musical - it seems not!

Wacky but helpful

Either you will love Stever Robbins or you will hate him... I personally love him and like putting his tips into action. If you like a wacky sense of humor and need time management tips this podcast is right up your street!

Very useful tips - not too long

I found about Stever from reading an interview with him in the Productive magazine (from the creators of Nozbe). From that I checked out his site and podcasts and have been listening ever since. They're a good length - long enough to get the point across, but too long to make it drag out. Recommended.

Sharon Leighton

I've been a fan of this podcast pretty much since the beginning in 2006. Most of the podcasts I downloaded way back then, I no longer listen too but Stever gets my vote for sustainability. It's funny, short, packed with great, REALISTIC advice and even stands listening to again and again! In fact our whole family love listening to it (I guess we're all zombie fans). One I recommend to my clients too.

You'll enjoy it if you feel overworked

I'm currently really enjoying this podcast. I might not listen to it forever but find many of the tips pretty helpful. You have to feel a little overwhelmed or oppressed by the amount of work you have, otherwise you won't see the point if a podcast that talks about strategies for managing workload.

Tedious

This is a very tedious podcast. I tried with it, I really did, and listened to 30. But then I had to give up (so I could save time!).
One core problem is that Robbins sees EVERYTHING as an utter chore. For example email is an enemy, not a tool, so advice for things comes across as over-the-top and in the end the advice is so tedious it's not useful. Like would you only read your email once a day and write down on a piece of paper what email you have? Me neither. His attempts at humor fall a bit flat, and it's also very repeitive -- I think he splice in dialogue from previous podcasts sometimes.
All in all, I don't think I learnt anything of use. Anyone in business will already know what he's talking about. But it may be good for a newcomer to business.

Excellent

Lots of really helpful tips delivered in a friendly and humourous manner.
Not too dry, not patronizing, very useful.

A total waste of your time - avoid!

This isn't even funny. No substance, just a waste of your precious time. The guy is patronising, dull and seems to be living on a different planet. Don't let this podcast take up valuable space on your hard drive.

Powerful and Entertaining

This has become my favourite podcast. Stever's podcast is neatly packaged into a 6 minute slot, sprinkled with a wonderfully dry sense of humour, and yet packs really useful advice into each episode. Not only will this advice help get things done more quickly, but he takes his own medicine and gets this podcast done quickly too meaning that I know before I start listening that my valuable time will be well spent. I have recommended this podcast to all my colleagues.

I aspire to be efficient and methodical.

One day, I’m going to be an organised person.
On the surface I seem to plan things very well, but those who know me well will know how much more I enjoy the planning and the list-making rather than the actual follow through.
So the Get-It-Done Guy - Quick and Dirty Tips podcast suits me rather well. It’s a short weekly podcast - only around five minutes long - so you should be able to find the time to fit it in somewhere.
The host, Stever Robbins, has a beautiful dry sense of humour with perfect comic timing - he presents a quick dose of wisdom in an effortless and captivating way. At the end, I always find myself more motivated and thinking of ways to apply the tip to my own life.
Recent topics have been: asking yourself “why” you are doing what you are doing, how to take great notes, how to say “no” to overcommitting, filing across multiple media so you can actually find stuff again, and how to motivate your employees to be more productive.
Yes, it is business orientated but at the same time the advice is broad enough that it can be applied across many life areas - and even if one topic isn’t directly relevant, he’s funny enough that the podcast is still worth listening to.
