It really is all true! Stories about stuff that you never needed to know, but your life would be incomplete without. They serve no real purpose other than to entertain. If you're the curious type and have a few minutes to spare, then spend some of it listening to this ever-growing collection of stories. Great for those that are looking for a little bit of trivia in their lives.
Discovered the world of podcast right here with the useless info., still learning loads and enjoying driving on long trips with mr Silverman. Thanks!

Great
Great little podcast. Perhaps a little USA-centric, but Steve is a great host and his enthusiasm for some of these more off-beat stories of history really sells the podcast for me.

Strange but True
Steve Silverman is a fantastic podcaster and historian. If you enjoy a good anecdote about weird experiments or strange flukes of nature then this show is well worth checking out. The Bill Bryson of podcasting.

Fantastic Podcast
I travel a lot and so every Sunday I download a few podcasts to listen to on my IPod. My favourite by far are the ones done by Steve. Thanks Steve for making my long travels much less boring and keep up the good work.

Useful/Useless? You Decide! (I say quite brilliant)
A wonderful little podcast that digs up the wee stories of intrigue from history that would normally pass you by. Often wonderfully off the wall and always thoroughly entertaining and well produced, long enough to satisfy and bite size enough to keep you interested. Steve is charming and the adverts from the past brilliantly tickling. If you like the tv show QI you'll be sure to love this

Great Podcast but does nothing happen outside of America ?
Firstly, this is a highly enjoyable and well put together podcast. Fascinating and obscure true life tales. But I do find my teeth grinding at the relentless Americana, does nothing ever happen outside of the U.S. ? does the rest of the world even exist ? Even the little extra titbits included in each podcast are always about America ! Steve, can you cast your research net a little wider, I'm sure there's a world of useless but equally captivating stories coming from outside the coastline of the good ol' US of A.

Well worth listening to...
This is a pretty good podcast for anyone who is interested in the more offbeat elements of history. Sometimes Steve rambles a bit and the "script" could be a little tighter but that does not detract overall from a well researched and interesting history podcast. The only big complaint is the title can be a bit misleading; "Useless Information" it is not! Wish I had had a teacher like this at school.

Great Little Podcast
This is a great little podcast. Steve is a witty and engaging host and the subjects he talks about are very interesting (if a little USA-centric!) Fully deserves 5 stars

useless? maybe, but still very entertaining.
If like me you are interested in all things slightly off tangent then this series of podcasts will appeal to you. Steve Silverman, author / teacher / online pet store owner, presents short true stories of some of the more weird and obscure stories from history. The stories range from the odd to the plain bizarre but all have the same things in common, they are all true and all unbelievable. Stories such as the Disney Flubber fiasco, the US Army Camel Corps and the Antarctic redlight district to mention a few.
Well worth downloading, give them a shot, you won't be disappointed.
