I'd recommend this, and Kunstler's writings, to anyone who has wondered why so many of the cities we live in are dull, drab and generally not nice places to be. As much about peak oil as it is about architechture and urban design, Duncan and James always manage entertain and at the same time educate about the type of cities we would all benefit living in. Just great, I listen every week.

Very interesting podcast. It's probably very much more relevant to Americans than Britons, as our built environment hasn't been designed for the car nearly as much as in the US, but much about the ramifications of Peak Oil etc. will affect us too. Kunstler is a very entertaining speaker, but often concentrates too much on the negative aspects of the built environment for my liking. Yes, he doesn't think much of most of American urbanism in the last 50 years, and yes, rejecting things is usually more entertaining than advocating stuff, but he could highlight the good stuff as well as the eyesores, I think. Kunstler and the host have a cute master-disciple kind of relationship, and they have a good rapport with plenty of humour. Well worth a listen if you're interested in towns and cities.

Fascinating and amusing to hear Kunstler pontificate on the problems facing the world today. Insights you won't get anywhere else. Host has a goot rapport with Kunstler and the production quality is excellent.
