No to horrible podcasting

A great pod cast, initially starting with 3 hosts now down to 2 with a rotating 3rd chair filled by some fantastic guests. They general feel of the pod cast is that of sitting around with your gaming buddies and talking about a few topics, after a few listens you get used to each hosts preferences.
The show is broken into 3 main segments, a general "what have we been up to lately" and then a mix of interviews, in depth reviews or discussions of topics. These are normally around war-games (typically non GW) and board games (rarely Euros). They do occasionally cover RPGs and digital gaming.
A really wonderful listen!

Great Show

I love podcast. I love all the segments even Did you ever notice. I have been listening ever since episode 80 I have even gone back and listened to the older episodes. Not loved every episode to be sure and nothing is perfect but this is close. I have gotten games i wouldn't normally have looked at and not regretted a single purchase.

Three boys who wished they were funny broadcasters...

Initially, I fought my first inclination to turn it off and delete after five minutes, (to give these guys the benefit of the doubt). I even tried other episodes to make sure I wasn't listening to a poor fluke.
Nope, this podcast really is THAT bad. The three boys are absolutely exhausting to listen to, Craig (is that right? I couldn't hear over the rabble...) being the major culprit. His vocal affectations are just insufferable and he bounces all over the audio track without ever really connecting with his listeners.
Furthermore, they are CONTINUALLY competing for air time by interrupting each other, trying to outdo each others' jokes, prolonging segments beyond thee worth by trying to have the last say.
If this podcast were a person, it would be a 13 year old with ADHD, trying far too hard to be cool.
Very disappointing and utterly exhausting to listen to.

Like having little gamer friends in your ears

Great podcast - even when speaking on games I have no intention of playing. Genuinely professional approach, great sections and amiable humour without the excessive cursing of other podcasts (there's really no need!). Where others fall, the D6G keep on going, like the Energiser Bunny of gaming podcasts. Keep up the good work!

The gaming podcast

For general gaming that cover a host styles and interests this it the place to listen. With Craig, Raef, and Russ you have a good selection of the hobby intrests out there. The reveiws feel like you just had you first game, and have lightened my pocket over the years.
Thanks guys from New Hampshire, form a guy from old Hampshire.

It's like the 3 amigos do games reviews---Great listening

I listened to a few of the most recent episodes and am now working my way through them all from episode 1. I find myself getting very strange looks from passers by as I bust into laughter as I walk along the street(sidewalk for those in the USA).To rate the episodes I will use the patent pending D6 generation rating system for these podcasts. I give them a 3+ for anybody interested in informative board game reviews done in the style of the "the 3 stooges" films, and a 2+(with a re-roll) if the episode actually involve stuff your interested in. The interaction between the 3 presenters is really what I enjoy and the Rapid Fire segment of each episode is my particular guilty pleasure.

Fantastic Listening!

After a couple of years of buying and playing only GW products this podcast has opened up my gaming hobby for the better. With insightful interviews, excellent reviews and witty banter I'm a D6G convert and spend my driving time catching up on the last 69 episodes. Way to go guys and keep up the good work in 2011 - it's not too horrible at all!

The defini..defina...

The Defini... defina... A truely great podcast... Gaming or otherwise.
I've no idea now how I "found" the D6G, but I'm so glad I did.
The 2 week wait between shows has become a void in my life.
Fortunately, the shows are very funny, so you can go back through the 2+ years of previous shows to fill the void.
Very good news, reviews and previews... some "off topic" discussion, general gamer and pop culture thrown in too.
P.S. It's spelt "definitive"... I knew all along, I'm being funny!

Love The D6G

Consistently high grade podcasting, great in depth reviews, always makes me smile and introduces me to the best in upcoming Rpg, board, miniature and card games - theD6G is my fave gaming podcast. My one criticism is why Cthulhu gets no love - please do an Arkham Horror review!

The friends who do not know me

Podcast gold. I subscribe to a number of gaming podcasts whose content I enjoy, but the D6Generation is the only one that brings a smile to my face when I see a new episode is available. Any kind of gamer will find something here to enjoy, whether you play wargames, board games, rpgs, or any other combination under the sun. The host's enthusiasm for gaming and banter-centric friendship makes for compulsive podcasting and the end result feels like an invitation out to the pub to discuss your favourite hobby with old friends. Keep it up, please, I couldn't do without you.

2+ re rolling misses to hit

Seeing as how they ask so nicely every episode, and I've been tuning in for over a year, it only seems reasonable I pull my finger out and leave some feedback.
This show has done more than anything to rekindle my interest in all things gaming, and is responsible for both a huge stack of impulse purchases, and many happy hours, spent either listening, playing recommended games, or in an ideal world, both.
Genuine chemistry between the guys (and TFL), along with thoughtful content makes this the only must listen on my ipod. Thanks again gentlemen (and lady).

In Wales now!

Moved back to Wales! Anyway ep. 54 the last segment, great! My nearest warhammer group is 40 miles away, your podccast fills the gaps. Looking for a group closer to us in Llangynidr ( let's hear you try and pronounce that). I still can't.

Pros and cons.

Covers a great selection of the games I love so from that point of view I really enjoy listening to it. It is way too long as although it has an hour or two of good content it tends to be padded out with a lot of filler. Some of this filler such as Craig's "Do you ever notice" verges a little on wallowing in his own ego. Russ is great and is knowlegeable enough and proffessional enough to keep things mostly on track.

Fairly good.

This podcast is generally pretty good. My main problems with it is that it isn't that funny and often they are wrong about some of the topics they talk about. But usually it's ok.

It

I would completely recommend this podcast for anyone interested in boardgaming or miniatures wargaming. It’s fast become one of the things in my gaming life I really look forward to – like a weekend game, or a monthly purchase of wargame miniatures. Yes, it’s that big a part of my gaming life. So why? Maybe it’s the “not to horrible humour” that makes you feel as if you’re the evening’s guest in the Wakelin Compound as the recording rolls. Maybe it’s the in-depth reviews are that give you such a feel for the game that you go out the very next day and get the game being reviewed (Chaos in the Old Word – and yes, the review was spot on and the game rocks). Well, these are great reasons, but for me, what I enjoy most of all is the more introspective sections – the Hollywood Minute and Did You Ever Notice. These are, for me anyway, the jewels in the D6 crown. They’ve made me laugh, made me remember old friends, made me remember old games in the Village of Hommlet, but above all made me smile that halfway across the world there are people who feel the same way as me about games and the families who share them with us. And that, as Russ, Craig and Raef would say, is not just "not too horrible", but priceless. So, for everything guys, thank you.

Everything they review, I want to buy. Their enthusiasm and knowledge is astounding, although I think that Russ and Craig are too nice to Raef.

Excellent

True genius, other podcasts may be sweary and coarse but these three don't need to be. Their family-friendly american banter can get me through that 3 hour painting session and I'll come out with a smile on my face. Thanks D6G, keep up the good work. Best wishes from England guys.

How the D6G changed my life

After listening to nothing but the D6G for the last three months of my daily commute, I can say that they have enriched and improved my gaming life beyond all expectation. Through their "Jedi Mind Tricks" I'm now playing Warmachine, Carcassone, Last Night on Earth, Arcane Legions, Battlelore, Pandemic, and Smallworld. And am loving all of them. These guys rock - they entertain, inform, show what true friendship is, and have helped me enlarge my personal definition of what it is to be a gamer from just historicals, and video games. Not only do I play more games, but also play more games with my family, which has taken my hobby into a whole new realm of satisfaction, fun, and fulfilment. Russ, Raef and Craig - Many, many thanks.

Englad, Centre of the World!

Evening chaps,
Just thought I'd leave you a quick review to generally praise your efforts on te podcast, it's great listening and you're doing a really good job. It's taken me a little while to get in to it but am now going through past episodes of the show at a swift rate. New listeners don't let the show length concern you, listen in 30 min chunks and all will be well, commuting, dog walking etc.. it's all good. Or I can recomend it for painting for long periods whether that be miniatures or indeed the rooms in your house ;)
So yeah loving all the sections and Rapid Fire is an ace way to kick off the show.
Cheers

D6 G

Excellant gaming podcast, covering a wide range of topics, it's opened the eyes of a hard core games workshop gamer to other systems and games. The only thing I'm not too keen on wives atacking.....mind you the whole show has grown on me incredibly since my first listen.

These guys game like you.

Although they set the standards in production values and interviews for other gaming podcasts the real charm of the show for me is that these guys play the way I do: an eclectic mix of board games, war games, RPGs and the rest. Their review section gives you a genuine feel for the game in hand from theme to mechanics. You have to accept that they don't review games that they don't like so they they don't really help you find out what to avoid but they certainly tell you why you should be enthusiastic about good games with enough detail to let you know whether its the game for your taste or not. Very long, but thats how I like it.

Good evening ladies and gentlemen

A rather spiffing show all about pursuits of a trivial but enjoyable nature. The shows presenters are incredibly insightful and knowledgeable on their chosen topic of discussion and debate. The regular segments give a consistency to the webcast and are highly polished, as they move through their second year of gaming-related banter and entertainment.
In short its BLOODY BRILLIANT!

A great general gaming podcast

I Started listening to the D6G because of the Wargamer Radio Network, since then it's become my favourite and has introduced me to a whole other side of gaming. I've started to take a look at the kind of board games that are out there and as many people have found I've wound up buying games as a result of listening to D6G reviews. So far they've all been really good games too! Keep up the good work guys!

Pretty Damn Good

This is a great Podcast: the three hosts are very funny and knowledgeable and often have very interesting reviews of games and interviews with game makers. The show is divided into fairly broad sections, but the standouts are “Rapid Fire” and “When Wives Attack” which would be worth the download for that part alone.
It’s not without a couple of flaws though; the episodes are very long (often close to four hours) and might benefit from being reduced to shorter episodes released more frequently. They also discuss Miniatures Wargaming and Board Games much more often than they discuss Role-playing Games and Video Games, which are the things I tune in for. Though, this is certainly due to the hosts' game preferences.
All-in-all a great show if you’re into gaming and don’t mind the long episodes.

A great cast that covers a wide range of games not just the usual GW fodder.
Unfortunately got me hooked on carcassone and arkham horror.

Honourable Mention

Worthy addition to the wargaming podcast category (especialy alongside some "other" examples) with fairly solid entertainment value and amusing little comedy segements. The hosts seem knowledgable about their hobbies and project their enthusiasm well. There are some mistakes in delivery and minor hickups with technical issues of both the sound and information variety but all in all not a waste of time. That is, assuming you have the 3 or more hours it takes to listen to it... lets face it, its good, but it's not 40k Radio... sorry guys.

A Must listen to Podcast

The D6 generation is an excellent podcast, it's funny, informative and a great show. The hosts work so well together, The show has good segments, reviews and commentary.
I like the shows opening Rapid Fire, I will say it is an acquired taste but by jove what a taste it is.
The When wives attack segment seems to have gained an almost cult status, with many a geeky nerd hanging on the wives every word.
The reviews are in depth, From the review I can normally decide weather I want to purchase.
All in all a great podacst, well worth a download and listen..

A family friendly adult gamer podcast?

First thing, it has to be said, this is one of the best podcasts I've had the fortune to listen to. I constantly look forward to every new episode. It is a well thought out, intelligent and humourous piece of audio genius. It has introduced me (and probably many others) to a multitude of games I have never seen, played or considered. I honestly give value to every review and opinion, whether I personally agree or not. Well done!

Great Gaming Podcast

D6 Generation are one of my two favourite wargaming podcasts, this week in wargaming being the other. They have everything that a few of the other games podcasts have, plus more humour. Plus of course I must state that they have something that no other podcast has..... The Wives Attack!! Seriously the guys wives have some really interesting things to say, plus the novelty of being girls into gaming!
Keep up the great work guys.

Just wanted to thank you lads for the recent episode/instalment/thing with the GF9 interview, the historical primer (historicals now feel like slightly less of a closed book to me) and the shoutout (it's nice to feel appreciated). Really funny and informative stuff, that was.

A very good listen

This is one of, if the the best non GW based gaming podcast on the net. Love the humour and sometimes completly random stuff these guys go on about. I would never have heard of some of the games I now enjoy without this Podcast.

Keep on sharing

Not only do the D6G give fair and thorough reviews of games I would never have known existed but they supply those of us outside of the US with an intriguing insight in to the American gaming culture. And the humour is way above ‘not that bad’.
