Upcoming books

I really enjoy how you invite both new and established authors to talk about their upcoming books and the stories behind them and have gone on to purchase many a book after hearing your interviews. I would like to suggest that you invite the very talented Bella Mackie onto Saturday Live soon - she has a debut novel out in July: How to Kill Your Family, and has written about how she copes with anxiety in her book Jog On. She does a great podcast with her husband Greg James (also of this Parish, as Richard Coles would say) called Teach Me a Lesson and posts the most amazing views of gates, windows, doors and gargoyles from her running views on IG. She would really appeal to a younger audience and I for one would love to hear what she has to say about mental health, running and her writing process. Oh, and her dog Barney too of course.

Saturday Live

This show is the crown in the jewel for BBC Radio 4.
Rev Richard Cole, you are the ultimate gent.
I was apprehensive when Aasmah Meir left and for a while you were like a ship that lost it’s rudder till Nikki Bedi joined you. The programme has been restored to it’s former glory. The chemistry is back. Thank you Rev Cole & Nikki. You are both doing a sterling job. Long may you last!

Thank you’s

Is there a podcast for the Thank Yous alone? If not, please make one. I find it very moving and something that needs to be shared.

Rev Coles

Please ask Richard Coles to stop bringing every single subject back to him. Stop talking about himself and we would all be better off

Can't be good every week!

I normally really enjoy this podcast but this week it was very poor, just not a good mix. Hope it back to form next week

That programme on Saturdays

It's rare that I ever listen to live radio anymore. I sneakily download my favourite Podcasts and peruse them during the night when I should sleep, but it evades me, returning at inconvenient moments during the day. So the range of emotions that this programme brings from jocularity, sympathy, empathy, and agreement. As a Primary, Progressive MS person I particularly liked this week's episode. At some stage this morning I shall have a cup of that stuff from Brazil. It's so true, the forgetfulness of nouns! That tingling that never goes away! The longing to be able to grip without dropping, or walk in a straight line! The tiredness! This is a programme that covers so many subjects, and just occasionally covers one that resonates with your very being! Every week it is engaging. Recommended.

Cheated

This is such a great podcast, but........ every now and again they fail to deliver. Literally! 18th Nov 2017 is missing, I've tweeted but no-one bothers to reply. I do get fed up with being treated so badly by the BBC over and over again. If...... they do respond, they are pompous and rude - not helpful

Saturday Live- home counties radio

Like a cup of tea, slippers and the paper on a Saturday. All a bit twee but having said that there are usually interesting guests, it is a gentle show and the different segments offer up entertaining listening.

No More Reviews ??

I don't believe the last review was 24th Jan 2011!
Rev RC has been doing an excellent job in the chair since the departure of FG.
I tend to listen in chunks as time allows and currently have about 23 podcasts before I am up to date but this does not detract from this excellent programme.
They said John Peel couldn't be replaced but Sat Live is more than up to the job.
Keep up the good work.

The best on 4

By far and away the best show on 4.
A fabulous audio magazine, presented by someone who know when to shut up, and let people talk, but can draw out so much from her guests.
Always interesting and so diverse, the perfect show for radio fans.

Wonderful

This is, with out doubt one of my favourite podcasts. I have to work two weeks per month outside the UK and always listen on the Monday morning as I drive to the airport. Fi and her guests always give me a warm feeling to send me off on my trip
